[GIVEAWAY] a pampering sesh at origins nail spa

3 weeks back at work post maternity leave, i could feel the strain. juggling 2 kids and work aint no easy task and i have been increasingly feeling dog-tired on a daily basis. there are days where i K.O. before i have my dinner (usually together with Jerry when i put him into bed).

and just like that. 3 weeks is gone. GOSH. i’ll admit it. it’s mentally draining and hard work keeping to the schedules daily, packing off jerry to child care, full-time work, struggling to produce milk and bagging in enough sleep and doing night feeds for jerome amidst a thousand and one things on my mind.

my nails are the last thing on my mind. i havent painted them since. SIMPLY. NO. TIME. AND. ENERGY.

someone up there must have heard me. and i got lucky. I was offered a complimentary pass for the origins signature treatment at the origins nail spa – a classic mani & pedi, completed with scrub and mask! it’s god-send! the very nice husband also offered to babysit the 2 kids all by himself while i spend a couple of hours pampering myself. BLISS!

if you are a mum and have done jamu massage, you probably have heard of origins jamu massage. The nail spa is an affiliate of the popular jamu massage company.

i was given a choice of green tea, coffee, ginger and a couple of other options of scrubs and masks to choose from. i chose green tea for its anti oxident, anti aging (totally need this) and whitening qualities for both the scrub and the mask.

the manicurists quickly got down to work, while i just relaxed and enjoyed the pampering. the scrub is pretty rejuvenating & cooling!

pardon my knobby knees & ugly feet!

the mask on my hands and legs. it was left on for 10 mins.

I didnt manage to take a lot of pics because my hands are, obviously occupied. so pardon me. i was wishing my eyes had some sort of super power to control my handphone/camera to take some pics for me, but i dont. so, use your imagination kies?

an hour and a half later, my legs and arms were feeling really smooth and pampered, and TA-DAH!

isnt it pretty?

up close. i chose the OPI skyfall colors, which were pretty new and i totally dig them – Live & Let Die (greenish black) & the living daylights (glitter). very lovely right? and i learnt a new method in making glitter polish cool. packed them all up like what i have in my accent nail.

i had a lovely time. the manicurists were very friendly and the place was simple and cosy amidst a hdb shophouse setting. they have a wide range of polishes from OPI, China Glaze, ZOYA (!!) and gel polishes from angel pro (i havent seen much salons using this but i love the colors) & bling. There are even children friendly polishes available for kids! very interesting!

good things must share right? here’s the exciting part. I am giving away a complimentary classic manicure session at Origins Nail Spa now! Just enter the contest by clicking on the link below!

Hi there! Thanks for popping by. I'm Cherie, a ftwm (full-time working mum) to 3 lovely kids (2 boys & a princess) and my motto in life is to BE HAPPY. Sure, life isn't all that smooth but it's the mentality that counts, no? This blog documents my life. Or rather, snippets of my life that has passed me by. I love capturing life memories in the blog and being able to read back and laugh at myself (or anyone). I love to eat (A LOT), travel and paint my own nails so the blog is mostly about that. Is that considered lifestyle? Of cos, the family is also very much an integral part of me so there would be loads of memories about the husband and my kids - Jerry (9yo), Jerome (7yo) and Leia (2.5yo) and everyone else that's close to me. I like documenting the kids' milestones, their growing up years, their achievements (and sometimes, mine), and my struggles and battles with motherhood. It sure ain't easy. I love seeking out good food and travelling, is trigger-happy, love new gadgets, love exploring new places and strives to live life to the fullest. I aspire to travel the world as much as I can, to soak in the different sights across the various continents and visit all the Disneylands in the world (almost there!). Have fun reading and do drop me a comment to say hi! Love, Cherie Lim Find me on Instagram.
