My Homemade Mee Hoon Kueh.

By |May 23rd, 2016|

I haven’t done a food post in a long, long while! I spent the¬†weekend was cooking at home so I thought, why not share it?

I don’t cook very often. The hubby much prefers to eat out because it is a lot faster and fuss free. He doesn’t get a tired wife or a dirty kitchen that needs cleaning thereafter so it is perfect for the OCD him. I honestly prefer home-cooked, healthy meals so I try to cook whenever I can.

So, presenting my (self proclaimed) awesome mee hoon kueh!

Looks yummy anot? It is actually a really simple dish to cook, but prepping it takes a bit of time. While I was cooking¬†this, I got reminded of a mee hoon kueh “party” that I had some time ago where my friends were over at my place learning how to cook this… and I am going to share the […]

Crab in da Bag – #GotMeat or #NoMeat?

By |January 6th, 2016|

So, I dated my bimbo girlfriend to go Daiso shopping at Kallang Wave tonight and when we were done… we were wandering around wondering what to eat for dinner and we chanced upon the Crab in da Bag signage. ¬†Irene¬†says she hasn’t tried it before so I was happy to oblige since I love seafood.

In case you haven’t heard, just days ago, the Crab in da Bag Sports Hub branch recently got into FB saga over a 2-star review. I have my reservations about the review because I normally would ask how big or how heavy the crab/prawns¬†when I order seafood in any restaurant. These stuff are usually priced seasonally right? Then again, it might be just me and my weird buying practice. Tell me if you do ask or just buy it blindly?

Anyway, since we were there.. we decided to be funny and do […]

US Southern Barbecue Grill Masters at Swensen’s

By |September 29th, 2014|

I took a night off earlier this month and arranged for a girly dinner with a girlfriend. We are both greedy, gluttony people, so when I got¬†invited to try¬†Swensen’s new US Southern Barbecue Favourites menu.. she was the first person that came to my mind!

Ok. I confess. I had wanted to bring the kids. After all, Swensen’s is a family friendly restaurant with menu items that caters to everyone in the family but week day night is just plain impossible for me to bring them. I would never be able to make it on time if I had to work in the logistics of shuttling home from work and bringing them out again.

So the menu was U.S. Southern Barbecue, inspired by the bold flavor palates unique to Southern USA. The menu was simple enough, with something to cater for the chicken, beef or fish lover, along with a side […]

Fantasia by Escribà

By |September 5th, 2014|

2 weeks ago, I clocked in a very rare weekend date with the husband. I won a company contest and was awarded a pair of tickets to the show. Honestly, I totally have no clue what it was the contest for,¬†or the prize… I took part in the contest because my colleague told me to and I entered for the fun of it.

The prize is a pair of tickets to Fantasia by Escribà.

A wonderland of chocolates, cakes and pastry sounds yummy, so we decided to seek childcare aid from both our mothers and go for it.

I read about cotton candy clouds, and sweets and chocolates that I can eat along the way. Sounds like a real fantasy for a gluttony me. And you know what? It’s somewhat like a willy wonker fantasy land come true for me.

Greetings at the door. Now, at this point, the suspense […]

Menchie’s Frozen Yoghurt, now in Singapore! (GIVEAWAY ALERT!)

By |April 21st, 2014|

Have you heard? There is a new frozen yoghurt franchise in town! Menchie’s Frozen Yoghurt has hit our sunny shores in recent months and i honestly am really excited because me love yoghurt. From yumi yoghurt to yoguru and now, Menchie’s! Can i just declare that Menchie’s is really my new found LOVE?

Are you wondering WHY? Here’s what Menchie’s Yoghurt claims….

And want my point of view? Here’s what i think!

1. I love the concept of the yoghurt bar!¬†There is a total of 12 flavours and also the options of having a mixed twirl between 2 flavours. It’s a self serve yoghurt bar, meaning… you decide what you like, what you want more of, what mix of yoghurt you want, and you can even choose all 12 flavours in the same cup, and you dispense them by yourself! You can even decide whether you want to swirl it in circles […]

Gu Ma Jia Food Pot Food Review

By |March 3rd, 2014|

Today’s post is about a restaurant – Gu Ma Jia Food Pot, a Chinese restaurant that i recently got acquainted with and am going to share with all of you on all the food that i tried while i was there.

Gu Ma Jia Food Pot
45, Tai Thong Crescent,
Senett Estate, (S) 347866
Tel: 6285 2023
Opening hours: 11am – 10pm daily
(Closed for break from 3.30 – 5.30pm on Mon-Fri)

I was first invited for a media food review some months back, and subsequently went back as a full paying customer and both times, i enjoyed the food. The main draw of the restaurant is that it is mostly a humble, cosy, no-frills, restaurant that serves typical Chinese dishes home-cooked style, some of which does have a special recipe to them that makes the dishes totally interesting. I would recommend this as a place to dine with your family and friends. […]

last weekend, i was invited to a food tasting session at Outpost No. 903 Gastrobar to try out their brunch menu. at first impression, the place looked really cool. That huge tank looking thing that cannot be missed from the main road if you are driving on bukit timah road. it also has a laid back exterior with casual outdoor seats and a cosy interior with a high ceiling, decorated with vintage furniture. i instantly liked the vibe about the place.

when i first chanced upon the exterior of this restaurant, i made a mental note to try it one day. It has a pretty cool exterior that left quite an impression. I tried to make a reservation on the actual day but it was full and we had to do walk-in. We weren’t particular about the seating and was given a bar seat after a while. the restaurant was packed with people, and it was particularly noisy to […]

Dinner at Ippudo Sydney & interesting sydney’s sights

By |July 25th, 2013|

I'm usually not a city person, but i do love having the opportunity to visit cities that have interesting sights and historical looking buildings. after all, they are not a common sight in singapore, right?

Here's some interesting sights that i saw while making our way from circular quay to QVB (chain mall) to have our dinner on the first evening of our sydney's trip.

a street (angel place) filled with loads of empty bird cages. it's an installation titled, "Forgotten songs" that features a bunch of empty bird cages and recorded bird sounds to remind the city dwellers of the abundant birdlife that was in the area prior to the English settlement. the empty cages signify that the birds have long flown away.

sydney's general post office. i love buildings like that. I spotted it on the first day while taking the train from the airport […]

Tea & lunches with friends.

By |July 8th, 2013|

it’s been almost 2 months since i headed back to work (gosh! has it been that fast?) and i’m honestly, honestly missing my mama friends and the tea-times and lunches that we used to have while we were all on maternity leave. yes, even if it means i had to drag 2 kids along with me.

so yeah. this post about me reminiscing about the happy times, and blogging all those happy pictures that i didnt managed to post here.

lunch with mich @ antoinette

i get reminded of Jerry when i see the logo. every. single. time. because he keeps pointing it to me and says “Ba Ba Sheep!!”

what michelle had and what i had. I think she’ll roll her eyes at me again for posting this and reminding her that she can’t have foie gras. but it’s ok. […]
