A visit to Mainland Tropical Fish Farm in Pasir Ris.

By |March 28th, 2014|

I recently discovered that Jerry has a love for fishes. I think his first few interactions with live fishes (not those we put on the table) are from the koi pond in his favourite uncle’s house (a relative’s place). They used to have a huge koi pond beneath their balcony and Jerry gets to catch the small fishes with a small net.

They have since renovated their house and had the koi pond removed and Jerry has been asking for fishes every single time we are there. So last week, after a somewhat packed saturday (cooking class in the morning, family photo shoot at noon and a workshop in the afternoon – all of which i would blog about soon), i decided to lug the kids to experience a fish farm and do some fish watching.

Actually, i have been wanting to do that for eons, just that we never got […]

Cookies baking class at TOTT for Zachary’s 4th Birthday.

By |January 21st, 2014|

Jerry spent Christmas at a cookies baking class at TOTT! I almost forgot to jot this down but happen to chance upon some pictures on my flickr sets. We attended a really cool birthday party for Zachary 4th birthday. It was a cookie baking class and jerry’s first attempt at baking!

We were slightly late and when we got there, everyone has started!!

Each kid was given a tray, a lump of cookie dough, some chocolate chips, a paper hat and there were cookie cutters on the table for every one to share. Each table has about 6 kids on the table and there was sufficient space for everyone to hover around the table to make their cookies.

Jerry refused to wear the baker’s hat, so it went on my head instead. The little kid probably thinks its playdoh and kept kneading it instead. There were chocolate bits provided for the cookies […]

old school bubble fun.

By |November 11th, 2013|

sometimes, i look at my kids and think that their childhood are a lot more complicated – clouded with loads of toys & gadgets (ipads, computer, tvs etc).

i remembered growing up with very little toys and most of the time, i was exercising my imagination with existing furniture playing pretend all the time. i remembered using the bamboo sticks that my mum used to hang our clothes as some super long sword in a fight.. haha! those were the days.

i recently found a packet of old school bubble while packing my room. I think der bought them a couple of years back (pre-kids) while we were in arab street one day. thought it was a good chance to introduce some non-gadget, non-commercial toys to Jerry so i took them out to play.

a family trip to river safari for panda visiting!

By |July 17th, 2013|

as i was typing the blog header, i got reminded about the joke of panda taking pictures – they only turn out black and white!! ok, not funny.

some weeks back when my extended family was in town for my grandpa’s birthday, we made an impromptu trip to river safari to check out the pandas. I think it made my uncle’s day. He was really excited about the pandas. i was so hyped up about going on a family outing (together with my mum cos she hardly goes anywhere!) that i almost forgot about the rescheduled teacher-parent meeting in jerry’s school. Thank god the school is just a couple of blocks away. we missed the timing by 5 mins and der & me RAN all the way to the school. anyways, back to river safari.

here’s my aunt gracing the entrance.

tickets for all 7 of us […]

Sungei Boluh Wetland Reserve

By |July 10th, 2013|

this is a super backdated entry, from 6 months ago. it was one of those weekends in jan (5 jan to be exact) and jerome was still in my tummy. i was desperately trying to clock in some outdoor outings and spend some time with jerry before his brother pops out and share the attention.

i super love nature and have been wanting to go sungei boluh wetland reserve for a long while, and i finally made it there that weekend.

jerry dragging his cousin Levon along.

making our way in! I like that they add little tidbits and facts about the animals that we are likely to see on our journey in.

just for your info. entry into the wetland reserve is FOC on weekdays, but on weekends, PHs & school holidays, adults pay a meagre $1 for entry and $0.50 […]

Family portraits.

By |June 24th, 2013|

I never got round to blogging about this till now because the pictures took such a long time to get to me. I lost the mojo to blog about it until recently when i was searching for some family pictures to print for Jerry’s school.

we did a newborn shoot for jerome some time back, before CNY this year while i was still in confinement and in the midst of it, we bagged in some family portraits as well.

Naturally, i still look rather fat and preggers but here’s some of the nicer pictures that i thought was quite natural.

this is my absolute favourite of all the pictures because of the brotherly love. I hope Jerry would always love his brother as much as we do.

Now, i have requested for der to gift […]

mywaterway @ punggol on father’s day

By |June 21st, 2013|

sorry for the silence. its contributed by a couple of reasons. first of which is me feeling under the weather and I have been extremely tired of late from solo parenting last week and work and trying to recuperate. and the haze situation isn’t helping. my nose and airway have been irritated by the air and I did a 8-in-a-chain mega sneeze last night followed by burning nostrils,  I knew I had to hide under the covers and just sleep. so ya, forgive me will ya?

back to father’s day. I bought der an ice cream cup to reward him for a job well done (it’s as good as it gets so he deserves an ‘award’ to spur him to work harder). haha! its the thoughts that count right? I also got jerry to tell him “happy papa’s day” so he was naturally delighted (with the kid, not […]

one random day..

By |December 9th, 2012|

these days, I bring my nephew out quite a bit when an opportunity permits since the 2 boys are quite pally and loves hanging out with each other. they are exactly 1 year apart (share the same birthday) and its quite cute looking at them.

this was one of those weekdays some weeks back, both the husb & I happened to be on leave so we trooped out and brought the kiddos to polliwogs! my cousin and husb chased the kiddos around while I spent 2 hours chilling at the cafe, reading. playing games and.. did a manicure. lol.

the finished product! she sings the blue by Deborah lippmann.. gorgeous, innit?

I was also the time keeper so when the time was up, i went in and rounded the kids.. and caught husb spinning around.

hmmm. even though he always complain how tiring it is to […]

I must be the last person to blog about it. last week, we were invited to the official opening of polliwogs @ Robertson!

I previously blogged about visiting the place and you can read all about it here, so imagine my excitement when I got the invitation in my mailbox! I had to bug the husband to bring us there!

weekend fun at polliwogs.

By |August 15th, 2012|

last Saturday, we had to bring jerry to the paed for his vaccination and when we were done, it was only 930am so we decided to check out the newly opened polliwogs at Robertson. I'm usually not keen on visiting playgrounds/play gyms because I'm worried about the older rowdier kids within the same grounds, since kids usually go a bit uncontrollable when they are having loads of fun. however, I read that it was not as crowded since its newly opened and it had a separate toddler area so we decided to go check it out.

getting tagged. the service was good and since it was my first visit, the service staff explained all the cost involved as well as the package available. when she tag the kiddo and he tried to pry the tag away, she helpfully asked if he was uncomfortable, promptly cut the […]
