quickie

a short post before i begin the day’s work. the rain made me feel woozy and i didnt wanna get outta bed earlier. wish i could just sleep in.

i reached work on the dot today, despite having a late night yesterday. punch card shows a black printed 8.30am. whee! feel so proud of myself!

i found the stuff on my table askew. and my new eraser that used to be wrapped in plastic was being torn open and used by someone. i dont need to guess who. i guess that’s why i dont really like kids. super annoying. i have lost pens with stranded pen caps (yet to find the pen) and now my precious eraser that i wanted to start using only i finish the tiny dot i have on the other is being invaded. Grr.. im not being petty, but i just like my stuff to be the way i like them to be, especially when it comes to stationery. i think only unpolished_gem can fully comprehend my feelings.

anyway, the other day i was pondering on who i am in terms of religion in one of my posts. i came across 2 more terms when i watched the exorcism of emily rose and i thought it was interesting and wanted to share.

agnostic
One who believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God.
One who is skeptical about the existence of God but does not profess true atheism.
One who is doubtful or noncommittal about something.

Word History: An agnostic does not deny the existence of God and heaven but holds that one cannot know for certain whether or not they exist. The term agnostic was fittingly coined by the 19th-century British scientist Thomas H. Huxley, who believed that only material phenomena were objects of exact knowledge. He made up the word from the prefix a-, meaning “without, not,” as in amoral, and the noun Gnostic. Gnostic is related to the Greek word gnsis, “knowledge,” which was used by early Christian writers to mean “higher, esoteric knowledge of spiritual things” hence, Gnostic referred to those with such knowledge. In coining the term agnostic, Huxley was considering as “Gnostics” a group of his fellow intellectuals“ists,” as he called themwho had eagerly embraced various doctrines or theories that explained the world to their satisfaction. Because he was a “man without a rag of a label to cover himself with,” Huxley coined the term agnostic for himself, its first published use being in 1870.

mystic
someone who believes in the existence of realities beyond human comprehension

Hi there! Thanks for popping by. I'm Cherie, a ftwm (full-time working mum) to 3 lovely kids (2 boys & a princess) and my motto in life is to BE HAPPY. Sure, life isn't all that smooth but it's the mentality that counts, no? This blog documents my life. Or rather, snippets of my life that has passed me by. I love capturing life memories in the blog and being able to read back and laugh at myself (or anyone). I love to eat (A LOT), travel and paint my own nails so the blog is mostly about that. Is that considered lifestyle? Of cos, the family is also very much an integral part of me so there would be loads of memories about the husband and my kids - Jerry (9yo), Jerome (7yo) and Leia (2.5yo) and everyone else that's close to me. I like documenting the kids' milestones, their growing up years, their achievements (and sometimes, mine), and my struggles and battles with motherhood. It sure ain't easy. I love seeking out good food and travelling, is trigger-happy, love new gadgets, love exploring new places and strives to live life to the fullest. I aspire to travel the world as much as I can, to soak in the different sights across the various continents and visit all the Disneylands in the world (almost there!). Have fun reading and do drop me a comment to say hi! Love, Cherie Lim Find me on Instagram.

why do they bring kids to office? is it allowed??? but then again, it’s not so polite to rummage through people’s things…. unless it was nicely taken out and properly replaced back.

what can i say? they are the boss. u know the kid actually took this snoopy toy that i had on my desk, packed it into her bag and brought it home. when i tried to stop her, she told me she’s the boss, and the company doesnt belong to me, so the snoopy toy doesnt belong to me too!

and she opened my hollicks sweets that was in my cupboard to eat. she kept it back in place, but i knew cos i didnt open it in the first place! i cannot express how irritated i was. i feel like my privacy being infringed and i had to share everything that’s on my desk/in my drawers. (not that i mind sharing, but taken without permission is another issue altogether!)

and no, she doesnt place things back. i always know when she’s here cos the table will be different from the way i left it when i leave the office.

perhaps you should tell the boss in such a way that you are afraid one day they might play or damage work documents or things like that…..

but then, such kids have to be taken in hand…. ought to be disciplined!

i thnk the mother knows.. but pamper the kid too much.. cos when she snatched my mobile phone and snapped pictures all over the office….

she got scolded by the mother when i tried to snatched my mobile back. she’s quite a handful, not the easy-to-cry-even-you-whack-type.

the mother was whipping her arms and she stood here.. enduring the pain.

dunno what to do with her. my colleague was telling me im in for a hard time starting nov.. cos its the school hols!!
