• achievement unlocked.

i singlehandedly, brought 2 kids out with me for lunch. YAY! i guess its an achievement in my motherhood books.   we headed out for lunch with my girlfriend in my hood because i dont think i could have gone far with the 2 kids. actually, i could have since i have my bro’s car but der left for work with the 2 car seats in his car! im solo parenting with zero help this week. my mum is in hospital for an ear surgery, my brother is off holidaying in seoul, der couldnt get off work this week, so i just gotta deal with it. i do have a…

  • conversations with Jerry

now that jerry have better comprehension of the stuff i say, it’s quite fun to talk to him (or frustrating, depending on how you see it). these days, he is also fighting sleep and stays awake till midnight which is quite a torture for der & me.. because when he falls asleep, jerome wakes at about 1 plus for his feed and we are usually pretty zombified by then. the other day, while i was battling sleep time with jerry in the dark.. c: hey jerry, can you go to bed? its very late already. j: uh..uh.. (no, together with shaking of his head) c: you don’t want to sleep?…

  • another bloody affair.

i thought my last entry about jerry is bad enough.. and then last night, this happened. he was chasing a ball and playing with daddy when he slipped and fell face first and hit the floor. he started crying immediately and when der fished him up, it was a bloody mess.   my heart almost stopped. my mum ran to take some sugar to sprinkle all over the bloody area, while i went to take my phone and snapped a picture of him before proceeding to quickly clean him up. i know right, my priorities.   for a moment i thought he lost a tooth or something with the amount…

  • i see blood.

i meant that literally. this evening, jerry as usual is testing his limits with his surroundings. i have totally given up on how monkey he is or can be. it must be my active genes or a boys thing.   he was playing by himself by gently knocking his head against the wall. he found it super funny. my aunt tried to stop him but he just did it more thinking it was really fun. i was in the next room checking on my mails when i heard was a loud cry and i found him crying non stop. so apparently, he swing and whacked his head really hard against…

    conversations with the husband #1

am starting this series of “conversations with the husband” to jot down the funny snippets of conversations between the husband and me. I find some of the conversations that we have totally wacky, and some times, just plain irritating. should be fun noting them down. photo credit [was sharing with husb on a girlfriend who had to hint very very hard for the bf to give her a bouquet of flowers] c: what is it that guys dont get about sending flowers to their girlfriends? (actually indirectly directing the message to husb as well) d: hmmm… [silence] c: aiyah, i know already. next time i don’t bother hinting. i should…

  • random tidbits about building a new home.

i am sooo tired lately, and have been getting bad dizzy spells and headaches. am dreading the coming weeks for a couple of reasons: 1. My mum would be away for a ear surgery in 7 days, which means i need to stake out alone with 2 kids for at least 4 days (non-stop) while she is at the hospital. 2. The same week that my mum is away, my brother is travelling, which means, i don’t have anyone to help me buy food either. 3. der just told me that he won’t be able to take leave/come home earlier that week because he is rushing for launch. major BOO.…

  • furniture and appliances shopping

my weekends are pretty much filled with furniture and appliances shopping lately. i’m kinda feeling weary about stepping into a harvey normal/best denki/courts/gain city etc and the sight of washing machines and refrigerators makes my mind tune out due to information overload. we have bought our TV, shortlisted the refrigerator model and color, the microwave oven, and going to check out the electrolux sale next weekend for deals before buying our hob/hood, washer and oven.   shortlisted our sofa and dining table as well, and hopefully the dimensions fit after the design/layout is finalised.   so, we are left with the taps, the sinks and the lightings and miscellanous bits…

  • big brother jerry.

i was trying to grab some bites of my lunch earlier and didnt have my eyes on jerry since he is with his toys in the living room and babytv on tv for his entertainment. jerome is sleeping on the sofa. my mum was in the kitchen and when she came out, here’s the sight that greeted her. he took jerome’s half finished bottle of milk that was left on the table and tried to shove it into his mouth, all on this own. i swear this wasnt staged and i was still munching on my veggies when my mum called me.   i happen to see jerome flashing a…

  • Random things about Melbourne [Warning: Image intensive]

I know my melbourne entries are totally random and sporadic, but its really quite tough to squeeze some time to sit in front of my lappie without jerry demanding my attention or jerome crying/fussing, so do bear with me. still have so much more to go. i didnt have the time to gather my thoughts so this would be a random entry about things in melbourne that i would like to remember about. mailing out postcards. I would usually buy a postcard of the cities that i go and mail them to my friend sally ever since i found out about her love of postcards many many years back. my…

  • motherhood is especially fun when you have company.

im slowly counting down to the end of the maternity leave and am not looking forward to it. while looking after 2 kiddos is tough and tiring, having friends going through the same period of motherhood with you and enjoying the same stretch of maternity leave is kinda fun.. there’s excitement in our days as we share stories in our whatsapp group chat, plan lunches and meet up, as well as playdates. there is also loads of laughter and discussion about everything under the sun so there is never a dull moment. i am also especially thankful that they are a bunch of very encouraging mums as well and always…
