playset of yesteryears @ raffles place
in commemoration of 50 years of greening singapore, the national park board introduced a roving installation called ‘Playset of the Yesteryears’ . Or otherwise in my own words, known as old school playground because it features play equipment that were popular in the 70s and 80s (my time!). so when i first found out about it, i had to check it out just for reminiscing sake. the playset features a variety of swings (my favourite!), merry-go-rounds and see-saws installed on a bed of sand (oh, don’t you miss this?). i brought jerry to check it out, but honestly, i think i was a lot more excited than he is. …

sunday morning swim.
we packed jerry off to a swim on sunday morning. its been a long while since we brought him to the pool.. thankfully, he can still fit in his bumblebee suit! looking really cute and no idea where he is going.. mega excited once he sees the pool and kept running towards it even before we got ready. *splash* his neck float doesnt quite work anymore.. while it still fits, it wasnt able to hold his weight and he kept drinking water. we need to get him a new float soon! he also refused to sit in the other float and just wants to waddle/jump around the pool! me trying…

good friday play date.
the bestie’s family and us headed out to jacob ballas children garden on friday morning for some water play. the last time the 2 kids met, jerry was still very young! we wanted to hang out at the sand pit first but jerry was immediately attracted by the sprays of water a distance away and ran towards the water to play! it was before i could even settle down (i.e. find a shady spot) and *poof* he was gone along with estelle’s plates and with daddy chasing after him. this kid, he really loves playing with water. filled with smiles.. it was extremely tough to capture adequate pictures of…

Day 4: Visiting the Melbourne Aquarium. [warning! pictures intensive]
i have a love for marine life. my mum used to spend all day watching the fishes in our home aquarium when i was a kid because observing them has a calming effect and i totally agree. i remember i used to like going to changi airport as a kid and watch all the fishes in the huge aquariums for hours and hours at the arrival halls. while the aquariums have long been gone, but i do have very fond memories of them up till today and i’m sure many of you would agree with me. so, as i grew older and started to travel, i would often visit aquariums…

Outdated post about my Melbourne vacation. [warning: pictures intensive]
This is an outdated post about my Melbourne vacation. a group chat with some of the yummy mummy bloggers triggered this entry about melbourne. i am soooo bad with my travelogues because i never get round to finishing them! in a flash, its been 4.5 years since i last went australia, and it sure didnt seem that long ago. it was a last minute trip that i pulled off in less than a week and it was before i started on my current job. I cannot remember the vivid details to continue documenting my melbourne travelogue but i am just gonna show some nice pictures about the places i visited,…

jerome turns 2 months old!
jerome turned 2 months old last saturday and we brought him in for his vaccination early saturday morning. he’s been growing really fast and have outgrown a lot of his clothes, some of the hand-me-downs which had spent a lot of months with jerry now cannot fit him anymore. his stats for the month – 5.5kg, 53cm tall. i cant remember his head circumference though and it was not recorded in his health booklet. he’s been pretty much the same but has grown a lot sturdier, heavier, and stronger (he can straighten his body and push himself up from the bumbo seat). his kicks are very strong as well…

sunday brunch at spruce
the usual trio – andy, cindy and me met up for brunch last sunday (along with our significant other), mainly to bade andy farewell and ‘send him off’. this guy is moving overseas for a work stint and i think i’ll be missing his company. in a blink, its been almost 5 years since the 3 of us have met, worked together, became good friends and stayed in contact while we moved on in various stages of life. its nice seeing his 5-year plan materializing! a half awake jerry at the table. it was my first time at the fire station branch and frankly, we weren’t impressed at all.…

I need a break.
I couldnt have been more glad when weekend came last week. saturday marks the end of my solo parenting stint (yes, again) when der came back from china in the wee hours of the morning. i was struggling on the days he aint around because the round-the-clock every 3hrs feed is quite a killer on top of a active toddler. i have been sick for a while and i just never got the chance to rest properly and recover at all (or even pay a visit to the doc). the bad news is, my throat is a lot more inflammed than it was before, and i really feel quite under…

manicures.
a quick check and *gasps* its been a long long while since i did a post on my manicures. my last post dated aug 26 last year had me mentioning that it would probably be one of the last pedicure that i’ll be doing in a while, and it kinda gave hints to many about the pregnancy. while it wasnt really my last pedicure (i still attempted to paint them thereafter) but i didnt think it was a good job done (cant really see properly with the tummy in the way) and i got way too tired to even find time to blog. at the same time, i…
