one random day..
these days, I bring my nephew out quite a bit when an opportunity permits since the 2 boys are quite pally and loves hanging out with each other. they are exactly 1 year apart (share the same birthday) and its quite cute looking at them. this was one of those weekdays some weeks back, both the husb & I happened to be on leave so we trooped out and brought the kiddos to polliwogs! my cousin and husb chased the kiddos around while I spent 2 hours chilling at the cafe, reading. playing games and.. did a manicure. lol. the finished product! she sings the blue by Deborah lippmann..…

brunch ay canopy with the cousins.
last weekend, the cousins and me planned for brunch! it wasnt so much the food but more for the kiddos to get together and us just gathering together. my nephew Levon trying to hold Jerry’s hands so he doesnt run about while the husb keeps a watchful eye. my cheeky son trying to take off. xsilly joined us and he has a playdate too! having a ride on Donald! lol. it was my first time at canopy and I didn’t realised that there were a lot more indoor seats within in an adjacent restaurant building that belongs under the same management. I love that we were tucked in a…

jerry is 19 months!
I have been tardy on this space! with the pregnancy moving into the third tri (hello week 30!), work, the demise of 2 family members recently (all within a week) and a hyper toddler, my hands have been pretty full. and before I know it.. my boy turned 19 months today. the most significant part was that he lost all his babiness while I werent looking! I looked through the pictures in the past 3 months and its like.. he suddenly transformed. I kinda miss the round chubby cheeks that he used to spot in the pictures above. he now looks and acts like a little adult, so I…

depressing times and the touching eulogy.
in a span of 1 week, i received 2 news of family members passing away. first, it was my grand father in law and it was difficult that the husband wasn’t around at all, the bub was being kept out cos he is too young. i managed to get through it all, gritting my teeth and kept telling myself it will be over soon while my mum was busy with hospital visits on my grandma. and on the day i got back to work and trying to recover from it all, my grandma left that very night. i remembered how i was lying in bed thankful to have survive it…

one of the ways to wind down your hyperactive kid…
in the comfort of your home. I went out and bought a baby pool for jerry. been toying with the thought ever since he turned 6 months but didn’t buy in the end because it was quite expensive, my mum is against it (she thinks its another useless thing to own) and I managed to convince myself that jerry will soon outgrow the pool and that the public pools have loads of space for him to waddle around instead of this. thing is, every trip to the public pool in the past always land jerry at the paed, because he always catch some germs/bugs or a cold thereafter. its…

aspiring chef
we bought a cooking set for our boy last week! through our observation, I think this kid like this type of pretend play and its really a good buy. he’ll serve me an empty cup and have me ‘drink’ it, and follow suit with another for himself. he’ll occupy himself cutting the vegetables and cooking, which is good news for us parents – finally take relax a bit while the hyper kid is occupied. it was also great that we manage to buy a set in blue! meanwhile, grandma (my mum) is frowning at the growing toy stash. heh. I got reminded of my younger days where I…

good luck lunch at medz.
so many familiar faces are leaving at my work place. almost every other week, someone left or there are news of people leaving, many of which without a job. had a good luck lunch with serene the other day. I refused to call it goodbye/farewell. I’m sure we’ll meet and keep in contact! lunch was at medz at millenia walk.. it was a little like marche style of dining concept, but with the food offerings based on 8 cuisine stations – Spanish, Moroccan, French, Turkish, Greek and Mediterranean stations. French onion soup, it was bland and in my honest opinion, not worth the money or the stomach space.…

hong kong vacation day 5 – last day!
Day 5 of our Hong Kong vacation. when we got back after a long day of shopping, I was a tad disappointed that I didn’t manage to eat the seafood I wanted to. the main deterrent was the distance because its so out of the way and required either to take a bus/ferry and I decided I wasn’t brave enough to do it. Der already had a hard time carrying baby + stroller up and down the steps in mtr through the days we were there so I wasn’t gungho enough to go. so I had a plan. to head back to hing kee for more seafood, but without…

Jerry’s 1st Hong Kong Disneyland adventure – Day 3 of our HK vacation
We trooped off to Hong Kong Disneyland on Day 3 of our hong kong vacation! Technically, it’s Jerry’s 2nd time at Disneyland cos he was in my tummy when I was in Paris Disneyland. on the train to Disney. with mummy. gripping on tightly to the handles.. arriving in disneyland hk. although the bub would probably not remember much about this trip, we still decided to make the trip there. since it is the week leading up to Halloween, the park is themed that way and even have special extended hours on 2 of the days till 11pm. we didn’t visit during the days with extended hours mostly to…
