My baby jerry Choo at 7 months.
Happy 7 months old, baby! It’s been a bit of a whirlwind the past month, with him going through a lot of firsts. First time at the zoo, first time being sick, first time on the nebulizer machine, first stand, first few steps with support, first time sitting up by himself, first time taking the milk bottle and feeding himself, first climb, first self stand without support.. Gosh. Has it only been a month? It felt like eons! First time exploring his brand new playpen.. First zoo trip, checking out the wallabies. First sitting up by himself.. First climb.. First stand.. First major sickness.. (and first x-ray for the matter)…

Chilling out with great grandpa.
My grandpa’s health has been really bad lately. At a ripe old age of 96, I guess the body is in a retiring sort of mode. The last hospital episode made my grandpa draw up and finalize his will, and he was all ready to ‘go’. I do wish he won’t give up the fight so readily, but who am I to judge? I’m barely 1/3 of his age.. Meanwhile, I have been jumping at every single opportunity for jerry to spend some time with him, because I can see my great grandpa eyes twinkle with joy when he sees the kiddo.. Plus, he is always ready to cuddle the…

my agile baby.
about a month ago, i blogged about my baby doing the doggy style.. a month later, he has since learnt to stand and walk with support.. and he’s tottering around the playpen, becoming quite a monkey that climbs around too! i took the following video with the remote as a bait. i made him ‘N G’ a few times but each time.. he just manages to grab the remote! Jerry’s quest for the remote. from Cherie Lim on Vimeo. a few days ago, i discovered that he can stand without support for a few seconds before falling down onto his butt into a sitting position and excitedly told my mum…

Quick update.
I have been silent for almost 2 weeks now. It’s been madness here, juggling with a almost-deadly virus that rendered a whole household sick, a out of whack schedule for baby, a majorly sleep deprived mother with loads of stress at work with pressing deadlines (colleague was on 1.5 weeks leave and there were tons to be done) and many visits to the pediatrician on top of round-the-clock administration of medicine for jerry. I almost couldn’t hang in there. It’s slightly better now, but im still sick, and still superbly sleep deprived. What seemed to be a flu for jerry turns out to be a really nasty virus that warranted…

Babies and remotes
Can someone tell me what’s with babies/kids’ fascination with remotes? And oh. IPhone too. Is it the rectangle shape? Posted via LiveJournal app for iPhone.

The past week..
I think I am beginning to adore my son. For those of you who kept telling me things will get better and that I one day would find everything worthwhile, I think I am almost here. Thank you for all that encouragement then. I think I am beginning to feel like everything is worth it.. or maybe it is postpartum amnesia and I don’t quite recall how bad things used to be. Ahh.. Maybe this is part of god’s grand plans.. Postpartum memory loss is for women to cope better and forget all those frustrations, struggles, hardship so that they’ll go on and have more kids. I’m pretty sure it…

Under the weather.
Radio silence for the past few days because we are both under the weather. Between the 2 of us, someone got a bug and passed it on. Jerry had fever on Wednesday, and it went away after a patch and some medication but had runny nose and started coughing last night. A first in his books for being sick and down with a virus. Me, I am suffering from a really bad throat and been sneezing non stop, feeling very miserable and popped over to the doctor’s yesterday morning. Now, we are at the pediatrician, and have been waiting since 11am. Almost 3 hrs later, there are still 12 people…

A trip to the ZOO!
Over the long weekend, we planned a trip to the zoo. We didn’t have much plans for the long weekend and thought it might do jerry some good to expose him to the animals and bring him out to for interaction with people instead of cooping up in the house with grandma all the time. We had grand plans of planning an activity every weekend! So when kent told me that he is back in Singapore for good and kaka is here for a month-long exchange program, I said a meet-up is due! It was in their plans to visit the zoo during the weekend (kaka wanted to do it…

Happy 6 months!
Today marks 6 months of journey from the day I had a baby plonked onto my tummy and a pair of eyes staring at me. There has been ups and downs, loads of depression, some excitement, loads of happiness and amusement and a whole lot of other emotions, I am rather glad that we have survived it this far and things are getting better by the day (hopefully I don’t jinx it by saying this). The past month has been rather interesting, with loads of milestones from the baby! It has also been a fantastic month because the husband helped out sooooooo much, I am very thankful and happy and…

Jerry’s 2nd haircut.
Been wanting to give Jerry’s hair a trim. It has been growing fast and furious and became quite unruly, especially with natural curls in his hair. The past 2 weeks saw us with 2 unsuccessful attempts in cutting his hair. Once, the place was closed and the other, it was PH and they closed especially early. We were there when it was still open but the lady told us she is not going to cut anymore and is going to close shop. =( We were stuck in forum yesterday from the heavy rain while I was shopping for a present there after work, so despite a long queue at the…
