jerome turns 2 months old!
jerome turned 2 months old last saturday and we brought him in for his vaccination early saturday morning. he’s been growing really fast and have outgrown a lot of his clothes, some of the hand-me-downs which had spent a lot of months with jerry now cannot fit him anymore. his stats for the month – 5.5kg, 53cm tall. i cant remember his head circumference though and it was not recorded in his health booklet. he’s been pretty much the same but has grown a lot sturdier, heavier, and stronger (he can straighten his body and push himself up from the bumbo seat). his kicks are very strong as well…

jerome turns 1 month!
and just like that.. a month passed us by! happy 1 month, my little one! the day started early when we woke the kids, bathed them and packed them out of the house before 8.45am. for Jerome, bathing was done with pomelo and pomogranate (红花) leaves. ermm, the leaf was strategically placed. heh. his head looks really big in comparison to his tiny feet here! for me, I was up at 6am to help my mum pack the red eggs and ang gu kueh. my mum spent the night before cooking 140 eggs and coloring them. massive operation! I dressed Jerome in a customized romper that I made…

an update on the kids and me.
since the birth of Jerome, life has pretty much been a blur for me. feeding, burping, sleeping, expressing milk, bottle washing, and the likes. I havent have had much energy for anything else really. I remember being very sleep deprived when I had Jerry, with me expressing milk every 2-3 hours. this time round, I have been super lax in this area, expressing only every 4-6hrs.and am in the midst of trying to stretch it longer, but I am equally tired, if not more. in the last 3 weeks, Jerry also turned 21 months old. the bringing of Jerome home didn’t quite affect Jerry. i guessed it helps that…

Day 12 – jerome goes to the pd again!
ever since the first visit to the pd, we have started Jerome on partial formula milk to bring down the jaundice. with his condition which renders it harder for him to break down the jaundice, I was more than willing to agree with the plan. anything that’s best for baby. we have also started him suntanning him twice a day, in the early mornings and evenings. unfortunately, the weather isn’t coorperative lately. it’s been raining non stop so no sun! I’m loving the ease of caring for a newborn. Jerome wakes up promptly every 3 hours for his milk feed and plonks back into dreamland once his hunger is…

1 week old.
Jerome turns a week old yesterday. the past 1 week has been rather hectic and an emotional roller coaster ride. as parents, der & me have been estatic at the arrival of the baby. daddy, as before, is very smitten by his newborn and stayed glued to baby ever since he popped out. I had a terrible first night stay at the hospital in a double-bedded ward, whuch also meant i didnt have the husband with me. the couple beside me was rather inconsiderate, chatting non stop past midnight and the husband only left at 1.30am. they also shut their bed lights and switched on the main lights…

week 37!
couple of days ago, i had an ‘accident’ at work. I wasn’t paying attention to my surroundings and wasn’t watching where I was going. the next thing I knew, I felt a super sharp pain in my lower abdomen and I let out a scream. there was a loud bang/crash and a lot of my colleagues stood up from their seats to see what happened and started fussing over me. well.. I banged my stomach into a sharp edge of a table in the office that was placed there temporarily and I couldn’t.stand.up. thereafter. when I finally did.. tears flowed down my face involuntarily while I struggled to…

at week 36 and day 4.
it’s getting unbearable. the pelvic pains are setting in, I feel extremely heavy and am waddling when I walk. does not help that the contractions are also happening so frequently together with the sciatica pains shooting down my legs. my tail bone hurts big time when I sit at my work desk for a tad too long and I still have to deal with urine incontinence with the baby pressing down my bladder. argh. pregnancy woes. and sleep. I haven’t slept well for a while, and recently, I keep getting cramps in my right leg (the same leg that I had a surgery some years back) so I’m…

halfway mark @ 20 weeks.
ok. I’m flashing a little birdie at all of you. heh. birdie of my little prince. I can’t quite believe i’m halfway there! I have been so so busy at work so much so that blogging has seriously taken a back seat in my life. I crashed out on most nights before midnight if I’m home early, or I’ll be typing away on the laptop. and by early, I meant reaching home at about 9pm, in time to grab a quick dinner before putting my son in bed. not quite that ‘early’ by normal people standards. people around me seemed to be enjoying work life balance with knock off timings…

about reaching for my toes..
//edit:I just realised that 2 of the links werent working due to typo. It's working now..// a few of you have asked me in my earlier entry when I mentioned I wasn't going to do pedicure myself for a while.. some others picked up the cues from twitter about my appetite or the lack of. or even the need to eat breakfast every morning. this has definitely taken longer than I thought it would be. it hasn't been easily. I had had a roller coaster ride in fact. right from the start when I wasn't even that sure, to the double confirmation, the first scare, the check up, and a…

going for chorionic villus sampling (CVS)
was a nerve-wrecking experience. the thought of having a big needle poke through me, into the womb and extracting cells from the placenta was scary. It wasn’t the pain, it was the procedure. the other thought about the risk of miscarriage was the other scary factor. ok. and the fact that my odd were 1/17 (from the oscars test) made me really really freaked out. after having decided to go for it on monday and tried calling my gynae a few times to inform him but i only managed to talk to the busy man in the evening (7pm+). what happened next was in a whizz. tuesday morning. i was…
