Jerome turns 2 years old!
I know I haven’t been blogging much. It’s been somewhat a crazy last week and I have been making subtle changes to my lifestyle as well. Don’t you always feel that a year gives you a brand new re-start and serves more motivation to make the changes that you have always been thinking about? I’m doing just that and I will share more in a separate post, but meanwhile, this post is all about my kid! Jerome turned 2 years old last friday. We didn’t have a big birthday do, but just small celebrations with family. The first was the Sunday before his actual birthday. There was no fancy cake even, just…

Happy Birthday to me.
And so, I turned a year older on Sunday. It is probably the simplest birthday ever. No flowers, no presents, just my favourite durian cake from Jane’s Cake Station, spent the day running errands and had Hai Di Lao for dinner. This year, I was just happy to be spending time with my little family, just snuggling close to them, and eating the pretend food that Jerry likes to cook in the playroom. My birthday wish? Wishing everyone around me to be happy and healthy, because that is all that matters. The husband says he’ll bring me shopping for a present, and I told him to transfer me his budget…

Jerry turns 3 years old!
Happy 3rd Birthday, Jerry! Mummy & Daddy loves you loads! p.s. Just be more obedient and listen to us ok? My precious first born, Jerry turned 3 years old earlier this week on 5 May. We held 3 separate celebrations for him, one for my relatives, one for der’s relatives and one at the school. It was a weekend of madness and I am still trying to recover from all. The blog has taken a back seat this week because I have been so tired out from fighting sleep issues with Jerry in recent weeks, and he has been up way past midnight.. at 1am? 1.30am? 2.30am? He is at the…

12.9.2013 The day we celebrate our wedding anniversary & wedding traditions
der helping to lay my long train beautifully, just before we enter the ballroom for our march-in 3 years ago.a few days ago, we celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary. Has it really been 3 years? Happy 3rd wedding anniversary to us! Life has been really good. 3 years is neither short or long, but we have done so much, spent most days together (other than the days either of us is travelling), started our own family, built our own nest, and survived through squabbles and fights. and by fights, i meant pillow fights because we hardly, ever go to bed angry with each other. sure, it’s aint perfect.. but is…

Jerry turns TWO!
this year, i feel guilty about NOT PLANNING his birthday celebration. after the huge spongebob party last year (read about the preparations here), we were simply too overwhelmed with the other events of our lives (caring for a new baby, renovations works, overseas biz trip and reservist for der etc) to find time prepping for it. i had grand ideas of giving him a polw celebration in sentosa but realised that i don’t know enough kids to send invitation to (party package starts from 20 kids onwards). so, we did nothing except to plan for a family only celebration, together with my nephew Levon who’s birthday falls on the same…

joel’s full month.
Joel and Jerome shared the same edd date. Yh and me were still joking about sharing a double room and playing mahjong cards together if we were to bomb on the same day. heh. Jerome came earlier than expected at wk 37 & 4 days. Joel decided that he too, wants to join in the fun and popped out 2 days later, the day that I was to be discharged. I got a SMS from yh about her contractions at night when I was going to bed and I told her to monitor. I woke up at 6am and saw her text about her admitting and being in the…

the hubby’s birthday.
I didn’t plan anything special. at all. I didnt even buy a present. ha! I am such a terrible wife right? the husb warned me beforehand that he doesn’t want any surprises that requires me to splurge. no fancy cake, no meals that would cost hundreds and all. so I guess not that bad afterall by his expectations. he also decided to work on his birthday (Mon) so there was really not much time for me to plan anything. the weekend before, we popped over to expo furniture sale to check out the furnitures for fun, since we’ll be getting our home soon and had lunch at…

the christmas team lunch
each year, my lovely boss will arrange for a team lunch at a lovely place for the team. it’s always a much-looked-forward-to event for me because there is always good food, we have a nice relaxing long lunch and gossip chit chat about the happenings in the office and pretty much chill around together. this year, lunch is at symmetry, located at kudor street. I loved how chill the restaurant exterior looked, and the team had fun posing with the decor. me, looking rotund and terrible in pictures these days. my face is sooooooo round! restaurant interior. cosy little place with cute little touches here and there! the menu.…

Jerry’s full month party
Planning THE party has been quite the arduous task. Party venue woes aside, planning the guest list, sending out invites, deciding on the menus, ordering the full month cakes for relatives and the last minute works. Wow. And I thought it could be a simple affair. I am soooooooo wrong. Everyone wanted to turn up (and turn up they did!) and the party turned out to be quite a mayhem, packed to the brim, lack of food, guests going hungry, my relatives had to stand at the door to give way to others. Oh my… I feel like a bad host! First thing first, cakes. We had wanted to do…

of party woes
i really should have known better. after all, i organized that many events in my job but i didn’t do any prep work for the full month party until it was wayyyyyyy too late. *sigh* ok. it was also coupled with the fact that it was major adjustment on my end with my new role as a mother grappling on all baby-related issues, rolled together with all-time fatigue that i am feeling. man, it’s exhausting. besides, the man aint helping. he left everything to my device, didn’t help source or suggest anything at all (other than to provide the defacto venue suggestion) and didn’t give much comments even when presented…
