hmm.. am feeling a little bored right now while everyone else is downstairs BBQ-ing. decided not to join the crowd cos the indian “strangers” are annoying the hell outta me, intruding into our bbq affair and grabbing food to eat! so much so that i didn’t even get to taste a single stick of that satay cos i was upstairs clearing out my full memory card in order to take more pictures. Grrr.. still, here’s some pictures for the day. is it CNY already?
i’m not quite accustomed to the fact that CNY is just days away. i am supposed to be packing my bags and leaving town tonight, but i haven’t quite yet done most of the spring cleaning, or prepare myself for the mood. i’m kinda sad when i got an email this morning that my aunt and uncle didn’t get on the flight that they are supposed to. what was initially a technical delay turns out to be a cancellation of the flight, and they won’t be around here till monday morning. the reunion dinner’s gonna be quiet. ok. that said, i better get going with the cleaning, and of cos,…

hey, i think there isn’t much dates that we can play with.. so here are some of the possible dates for meet-up. 30 Jan – WM/Gary not in Sing 31 Jan – As above 1 Feb – As Above 6 Feb – Jasmine not available 7 Feb – WM/Gary can make it? 8 Feb – WM/Gary can make it? chinese new year
yesterday was the last day of the chinese new year. wanted to bring mum out for a sumptuous dinner but she has already eaten by the time i got home. gor wasn’t home either. oh wells. anyway, this chinese new year is a rather quiet one for me. kinda bored with nothing much to do and a lot lesser ang pows to take. Boo. anyway, just to post this for memory.. my xiao silly also have angpow!! cute rite? think i need to plant many many of this silly pig in my office desk to make me smile all the time. 🙂

the chinese new year
as i was reading everyone’ else entries about the cny.. it seems i am having a less than normal cny celebration as compared to everyone else. no special customs that i read about, no queuing of the kids to pay respects to the elders to get angpows.. no house visiting for me.. being a true blue singaporean that i am.. i never spent a single chinese new year in singapore for as long as i can remember. so, cny for me means shopping for groceries in the hypermarkets in msia, VCD/DVD buying, movies going in the town of klaung, and then these days, it’s being stuck to a laptop and…

a simple reunion dinner.. in a quiet town in johor. that’s how the eve of CNY went by for me. grandpa at his usual seat around the table. 🙂 though many are missing from the table this year.. i’m still glad that i made my way here.

of spring cleaning and cny
i have been spring cleaning my room for the last couple of months, had new sheets for the new year.. bought some new furniture for my room and packed it nicely. less some things that has to be thrown out, i think i am almost ready to welcome in the new year. but, i haven’t felt the cny mood. i haven’t bought my new year clothes. nails undone, hair uncut. and there are so many reports for me to submit the moment that i am back from the holidays that i am literally screaming inside myself against the workload. want to burn them all. ha! ok. back to cleaning and…

with the busy schedules and all.. there are times where i had wanted to blog about something, but never gotten round to it. so.. i was just reminded by wwenzz‘s post about some events that happened 2 weekends ago. first, i finally met up with rebbylicious at ICB (iced cold beer). I was really knackered that night from all the work i was rushing, so i did not talk much. I also didnt manage to stay really long bearing in mind there was work to be done on saturday. the clock strike 12am
Hmmm.. the clock struck 12am a while ago.. just 15 mins later, most are in bed and snoring away. this is a stark difference from the days when i run around and excitedly lit fire crackers. even the atmosphere in the neighbourhood is quieter. have people grown and moved out? the noisy level is almost at a standstill and only the whirling of the ceiling fan can be heard. chinese new year this year festive mood seems to be lacking. i’m sure im not the only person that feels that way.. the usual dvd shopping, movies marathon didn’t happen this year. the only interesting thing was this new gadget Wii.…

these days, i hardly had the time to seriously sit down and breathe properly. it’s a mad rush everywhere, trying to get work done, coordinating my life, trying to manage everything and clean up my room, do last minute shopping for CNY clothes (ok, dont remind me about the big luggage brimming with shopping items that just arrived yesterday from seattle), and trying to meet all my friends before the new year. last night, just barely an hr after i got home.. i zipped out of the house, journeying to my grandpa’s place in the middle of the night. in that single hour i was home, i had to unpack…
