Continuation of venice.
Pardon me, the previous post was cut off abruptly because the lj app refused to let me edit it any further (just keeps crashing) and though i tried i think at least 40 times, i decided to post it and edit it latet but i still didnt work. So yup, decided to continue in a separate post! Here’s another picture of xsilly being ‘tortured’ by der. I think der just like being irritating. And here’s our lunch! Steak for me.. Vongole for the boy. If you read on, you’ll realise that the boy is really quite boring and not experimental with his food! So far, he only eats this and…

Venice
Arriving in venice gave us a rude shock. Der was thinking we could pretty much take the taxi anywhere (from train stations to hotels etc) but there are no land taxis in venice, only water taxis. This is one place where for 2 whole days, i didnt see a single vehicle and not even a bicycle travelling on the cobberstones ground. Everything was pretty much via water. Arriving at 11.30pm at night is the other nightmare. Most of the waterbuses stopped operation (anyway, we didnt know which to take anyway cos the ticketing counters were closed) so we lugged our luggages and walked through the streets of venice. And we…

Honeymoon day 3 – milan to florence to pisa to florence to venice.
Its a day of neverending train rides! Checking out of our hotel in milan ay 6.30am in the morning. Self shot at recept. Did you spot the new miu miu? Check out my messy hair. Cant quite bother to maintain in italy especially with the winds blowing it into a mess every other moment. One last shot of the duomo in darkness. We didnt have dinner the night before because we were too tired and all der did was buy macs back while i collapsed in bed. Trenitalia. Expensive rides. Think we spent close to €400 for all the train rides that we’ll be taking for the entire trip. I…

More of day 2 in milan.
We roamed the streets once again after the duomo visit even though we pretty much covered everything on the first day. Spotted this window showcase with loads of sopie kinsella books in italian. Love their pretty colors and the muted pastel colours! Too bad, i cant read italian, else i would have considered buying one of these books for keeps. Lunch was at this replay restaurant. Though in italy, its mostly alfresco dinning where you can people watch.. We chose the indoor seats for this restaurant instead. With the alfresco dinning also comes with loads of cigarettes’ smoke as diners are allowed to puff away anytime. Our bread. Funny how…

More of the duomo in milan.
I have no idea why i couldnt continue the earlier post. It keeps crashing when i tried to edit it. Like after 20 tries, decided to post it abd continue in a separate post. X.silly visits the duomo too! V excited! A shot with me and a shot, all by himself. Duomo and part of the piazza below. Love this shot of the piazza with the shadow of the duomo. Right at the roof top. This is the other side of the duomo where its equally beautiful. I think i could easily spend the entire day there at the roof top reading a book or something but i had to…

Honeymoon day 2 – roaming around milan.
Its the duomo visiting day! Funny how we didnt visit it the first day especially since it was just in front of our hotel! According to der, he said this is one of the grandest duomo he has ever seen. I cant decide between the one that i have seen in spain and this, but grand indeed it was. Frontal view. Taken at an angle. Us with the duomo. The interior with really tall ceilings. The beautiful stained glass windows thats not showing clearly from my phone camera. The intricate designs at the front of the duomo and the beautiful paintings hanging. All the monumentos in the duomo. This part…

Pottering around milan.
Some random streets of milan while heading towards our hotel! Our hotel! Hotel rio, just round the corner from the famous piazza duomo. It was still v early and we dumped the bags under the care of the hotel and headed off! First up, headed to the central train station to buy our train tickets for the rest of the trip.. Nice tall building with beautiful ceilings and intricate wall designs. I didnt manage to take a picture of the main facade, but it wasa grand building with 2 winged horse statues at the side. Guess what is the first food i ate in italy?! Its a magnum gold! At…

Krabi Day 6 (30 Jan 2010)
the last full day in krabi with spent with 6 of our new friends. and it started embarrassingly because everyone was waiting for us while der and me were still in bed! tells you how tired we are from all the adventures that we had and we just jumped out of bed, forgo our breakfast and ready to run to catch the boat. except that the boat is always there waiting for us. we had a private longtail boat at our disposal and we had planned to go to the 4 islands – tup islands, chicken island, poda island and instead of the usual caves that the itinerary states, the…

Krabi day 4 (28 Jan 2010)
Previously wrote an entry that gave a quick summary of the adventures on the 4th day of the krabi trip, which involves white water rafting (mainly), and going on the ATV where i flew off the vehicle. I’m trying not to repeat the entries so here’s some interesting facts during my experience. January is not the season to be white water rafting in krabi. the water levels are low, and there’s isn’t much exciting or rapid water in the river. the experience was ‘rigged’ with dam water, so what happens is that everyone get ready for their experience, gear up, get into the boats and wait by the river bed…
