• Salt Tapas and Bar Singapore

Salt Tapas and Bar Singapore 252 North Bridge Road #01-22A Raffles City Shopping Centre Tel: +65 6837 0995 on our 3rd wedding anniversary, der suggested that we head out for a nice dinner. I wanted some vino for the occasion and suggested Salt Tapas & Bar for the occasion. It was the first restaurant that came to my mind that day. Salt Tapas & Bar by Celebrity Chef Luke Manganwhen i first chanced upon the exterior of this restaurant, i made a mental note to try it one day. It has a pretty cool exterior that left quite an impression. I tried to make a reservation on the actual day…

  • microwave chicken.

with the impending move to our own house, the one thing i will miss is my mum’s cooking. so, i am going to start noting down her simple to prepare and fuss free recipes here! i learnt the steps in my growing up years, but seriously, when my mum stopped working.. i have been rather pampered because who needs to cook when my mum is home to cook everyday? so i needed a refresher. I also made der learn with my mum earlier so this is also for his future reference. he’s a total noob in cooking (ok, except instant noodles and eggs), but i must applaud his seriousness tonight.…

  • the hubby’s birthday.

I didn’t plan anything special. at all. I didnt even buy a present. ha! I am such a terrible wife right?   the husb warned me beforehand that he doesn’t want any surprises that requires me to splurge. no fancy cake, no meals that would cost hundreds and all. so I guess not that bad afterall by his expectations.   he also decided to work on his birthday (Mon) so there was really not much time for me to plan  anything.   the weekend before, we popped over to expo furniture sale to check out the furnitures for fun, since we’ll be getting our home soon and had lunch at…

  • belated birthday dinner treat..

met up with jen during the week for dinner. a belated birthday treat for me.. because we haven’t found the time to have dinner proper. we met up quite late because I was stuck in a meeting past hours and even though I still had loads to clear, I dropped everything and left cos I was more than an hr late..   dinner was at pietro ristorante italiano (12 jalan kelulut, tel: 6484 5528), a French semi-fine dining in the heartlands. I chose the place for its proximity and because I have read about it and been wanting to try it for ages. a single serving of foie gras as…

  • A date with the husband.

Since a few weeks back, I have dedicated friday nights to having a date with the husband. It was triggered by the fact that mum went for surgery and there wasn’t the usual home cooked and we had to eat out. It turned out to be a great idea (even though we end up eating really late on Fridays) because we managed to clock some couple time over a good meal or sometimes, a simple and happy meal. There wasnt the usual distraction of tv at home or other things snatching your attention (read: iPad/computers) so there were some quality conversations happening. With the baby coming soon, we’ll have less…

  • My simple vday..

I started the day pulling myself out of bed with only 3hrs sleep at 530am in the morning. Yay! He’s finally back from a one week trip. I hope it’s the last for the next few months since we are not far from d-day. Headed to the airport to give the boy a surprise (but his plane landed 50 mins earlier and I was caught halfway when he texted me). I had to reply because I didn’t want to risk missing him at the airport, so surprise blown. =( Headed for a quick brekkie before I quickly popped back home to prep for the work day and the boy sent…

  • The uni mates.

My uni mates. It’s been a long time since I caught up with them. We all have moved on so much.. Yihui was my sec sch junior in sjab.. And our friendship has been through quite a fair bit, from marching to first aid training, to be punished by me and then to classmates and project mates and finally graduating some 6-7 years ago.. She has been there for a huge part of my life! Mich has been my Tp junior as well, being in the same studies club for the business school and running for residency in the club.. Going through orientations after orientations and cheer leading together and…

  • Friday nights are fun nights.

finally, the 3 good friends do dinner! when was the last time we did it? it’s been so long! it was a really “sweet” day (filled with this big bag of mentos that cindy brought along). i had wanted to drink myself silly but i ended up being the most sober one since der drank and i was supposed to drive. errr.. where did the fun go? but still, it was filled with laughter as usual. and the boy acting anti-social with his iphone. getting to the place was a nightmare. because… (1) no one checked the actual address before heading there and we ended up in bad traffic for…
