dinner at poulet and shopping.
last week, i felt really down and worn out, i asked the husband if he could come home earlier and bring me out for a nice dinner. i was on the verge of breakdown from the lack of sleep, the baby chores and being available for everyone else but myself ever since jerome is born. he obliged and i was a really happy girl thereafter even tho it was a short 4 hours (6-10pm). we had dinner at poulet, a casual french restaurant that is friendly on the pockets. have been reading reviews on the place so i had to go check it out. we brought jerry along…

food expedition.
what msia means to me is always 2 things – family and good food. and no, in case you are wondering.. I am a Singaporean, except that I have a wee bit of Malaysia blood in me. with the family wedding yesterday, the family gathered in jb for a good feasting opportunity before the celebration. we trooped in bright and early on Saturday morning. first stop. I finally tried out the mee hoon kuay that derrick has been raving about for a while. this is near his johor office in so its pretty far off from the jb town because its in skudai. I think it taste pretty good.…

the jap dinner at Wahiro
Right this moment, I’m so full that I can’t quite move an inch. I’ll risk puking. Serves me right for being soooooo greedy. Had a nice dinner with Der at wahiro tonight. It was not planned, we happened to be in the area and wanted to have dinner before proceeding with our errands, and since Der haven’t been there, I thought I’ll bring him. here’s the pictures galore. trying out the gorgeous cam on my new HTC One. hopefully they are good enough to make you drool! fresh sashimi. Der ordered a set meal that comes with a portion and I ordered an additional platter for myself..feels a little dumb…

My Sunday evening..
It’s pouring outside, and I’m feeling all warm and happy inside the house.. Because… I’m eating steamboat! Perfect evening in my books. Here’s what I have got in my pot.. Wong bok (Chinese cabbage) and duo-colored sweet corn (I swear by them but they are expensive stuff!). Egg tofu, chicken franks, and baby corn. King oyster mushrooms, fresh shiitake mushrooms, and green leafy choy sum vegetables. Fish balls and my favorite must-have ‘Tao ki’ (must be deep fried prior, I am anal on such stuff) And a tray of yummy pork belly slices. Look at all the marbling! Last but not least, the condiments! Home made chilli, Mizkan sesame flavor…

Instant noodles.
That’s what I am having for dinner tonight. The husband is gonna be home late from a team building karaoke session (he organized it and I secretly think its a planned getaway from the baby and my nagging). My brother doesn’t come home on Wednesdays so it’s just me and mum and I have decided to relieve my mum from cooking tonight, especially since we have a extremely cranky baby on hand.. Jerry unfortunately is running a fever today and I’m wondering if he has got the sick bug from me or that he is suffering from all that random knocks that he gets around these days. I have been…

Mummy’s milestones and more..
Achieved 2 little milestones in the last week.1) I survived a week without der when he went Aussie for work (but I had help from my mum)2) I drove the little bub to the airport alone to receive him when he came back! This really deserves more cheer and well, at least I know I can head out by myself in the car. Helps that Jerry loves car rides. He always falls asleep in them. Frankly, I was a little hesitant about venturing out and was given stern looks from my mum when I expressed my intentions but I know, bringing Jerry to greet hubby when he touched down in…

Dinner with Bernice!
Had dinner the other day with Bernice at northpoint, just so to catch up and plus the fact that I won’t be seeing her any much longer in Singapore. She’ll be jetting off to shanghai for taitai-dom while I’m still on maternity, so less my confinement period, we dont have much time left! I took a slow walk to meet her, thank goodness it’s so near my house. My fish & chips at swensens. The first time that I actually ordered fish & can finish ever since I got preggers. Major achievement in my books, really. The sweet hubby came to join us after his work, mainly to ferry his…

Dins with the colleagues and sweet Brenda
One of them days that I ventured out without the hubby since the gynae ordered mc! Never mind that I was taking the cab everywhere, cos it was pouring so badly when I stepped out! Was so afraid that I’ll slip and fall (knowing the clumsy old me), but thank god I was kept safe. I hadn’t really wanted to head out for the dinner because of the pain, and lethargic-ness of being home bound for so long., but my colleague kept persuading me, and it was also meant to be a farewell dinner for sweet Brenda, one of the close agency girls that I have worked with. She’s moving…

Tonight’s dinner.
Simple and yummy. I had craving for Maggie curry chicken noodles, so I cooked for the boy and me! With sunny side egg for him and scrambled eggs for myself, paired with loads and loads of vegetables and eryngii bunch mushrooms. Wash all that down with 2 cans of iced cola.. (so not me!) Bliss! Would have been really perfect if I didn’t accidentally burn the boy’s egg. I ran to my room to SMS him that his noodles are ready and have him quickly pop over and in that split second, the egg was slightly burnt cos my fire was too big. =( Nonetheless, the boy enjoyed the meal!…

Weekend fun.
Last weekend saw us spending quite a bit of time at the hospital.. Oh. On the health front, I finally got der to check out his neck with an orthopedic. Helps that I was familiar with it since I tore my ligament some 6 years back and I set an appointment for him. He saw the doc once 2 weeks ago, got a MRI scan done and last weekend, we reviewed the scan with the doc. Planned it in conjunction with all our antenatal class so it was perfect. The scan results did show that he had a slightly worn out disc in his neck that’s probably causing the pain…
