• The Live Turtle and Tortoise Museum we go!

The National Day long weekend was such a treat, and I can’t believe we are already at month end! We visited The Live Turtle and Tortoise Museum located at The Chinese Garden over the long weekend. Quite an eye-opener I must say! If you are looking for some activity to do this weekend, maybe this could be it! I had initially wanted to bring the boys to Kusu Island, but dropped the idea when I realised there isn’t a direct ferry to the island. So, we went to The Chinese Garden instead because I have read about the tortoise museum and have always wanted to visit. I think I haven’t…

  • The Three Billy Goats Gruff by The Little Company (TLC).

We recently caught The Three Billy Goats Gruff by TLC and the family loves it! Jerry has been asking me to bring him back to the theatres ever since we watched Goldilocks and the Three Bears. He loved the latter so much, he asked to go back the very next day after we watched it. The moment we stepped into Singapore Repertory Theatre, Jerry turned to ask if we are back to watch Goldilocks again. My bad. I have been so, so sick lately, I didn’t have the time nor energy to prep the kids on the musical that we are catching. I have been either in comatose state or…

  • Transformers 30th Anniversary Exhibition, Singapore

Jerry & Jerome are both huge fans of Transformers. Not a day goes by in the household without them holding or playing Transformers. They play with it every single day. Heck. Make that several many times a day and they travel with it even, grabbing one or two of them each time we step out of the house. So, when I heard about the Transformers 30th Anniversary Exhibition at Science Centre Singapore, it’s a no brainer that I have got to check it out. In case you aren’t aware… The Transformers 30th Anniversary Exhibition celebrates 30 years of evolution of the world famous Transformers series and presents a snapshot of its…

  • a family trip to river safari for panda visiting!

as i was typing the blog header, i got reminded about the joke of panda taking pictures – they only turn out black and white!! ok, not funny. some weeks back when my extended family was in town for my grandpa’s birthday, we made an impromptu trip to river safari to check out the pandas. I think it made my uncle’s day. He was really excited about the pandas. i was so hyped up about going on a family outing (together with my mum cos she hardly goes anywhere!) that i almost forgot about the rescheduled teacher-parent meeting in jerry’s school. Thank god the school is just a couple of…

  • Sungei Boluh Wetland Reserve

this is a super backdated entry, from 6 months ago. it was one of those weekends in jan (5 jan to be exact) and jerome was still in my tummy. i was desperately trying to clock in some outdoor outings and spend some time with jerry before his brother pops out and share the attention. i super love nature and have been wanting to go sungei boluh wetland reserve for a long while, and i finally made it there that weekend. jerry dragging his cousin Levon along. making our way in! I like that they add little tidbits and facts about the animals that we are likely to see on…

  • grub restaurant review, grub food review, grub cheeseburger

mother’s day brunch at GRUB Restaurant.

GRUB restaurant is like the hottest place to check out lately. it kept appearing on a lot of my friends’ blogs and their IG. with it being so near me.. I just had to check it out so I brought my mum there for a mother’s day brunch. ermm.. having read all the rave reviews.. I think my experience fell a bit flat. 1. queues. I have heard about their no reservation rule so I dragged everyone out at 845am to make it for their opening at 9am. turns out, we parked at the wrong car park so we had to take a little stroll. we reach about 920am and…

  • ikea shopping.

we did more shopping for the home over the weekend. we had wanted to check out new bed frames at ikea (the staff told us there are new ones arriving) but we ended with only bowls in our shopping cart.   jerome is still sick so he stayed home with my mum who babysat him. lunch at ikea. the kiddo was asleep so we didnt get him anything.   we were also looking out for ideas for the detailing so i randomly snapped the following pictures for reference, simply because i liked what i saw or it was that something i wanted to do. then.. i chanced upon this kiddy…

  • jerry test drives his car!

when jerry turned one year old, my cousins-in-laws bought a really huge toy car for him. back then, he was really terrified of it (omg! this thing moves and jerks!!) so we had it parked at my in-laws’ place. jerry only sees and play with it at the corridor when he pops over on the weekends. his love with all things car has since grown so we finally got our act together and brought the car out for a test drive at bishan park last saturday! i find this sight really hilarious. the car fits perfectly in der’s car boot. there was an empty car lot beside us in the…

  • playset of yesteryears @ raffles place

in commemoration of 50 years of greening singapore, the national park board introduced a roving installation called ‘Playset of the Yesteryears’ . Or otherwise in my own words, known as old school playground because it features play equipment that were popular in the 70s and 80s (my time!). so when i first found out about it, i had to check it out just for reminiscing sake.   the playset features a variety of swings (my favourite!), merry-go-rounds and see-saws installed on a bed of sand (oh, don’t you miss this?). i brought jerry to check it out, but honestly, i think i was a lot more excited than he is. …
