• My house turned florist.

For a night. Heh. My brother has been really busy with helping a friend’s wedding lately that I haven’t seen him much. On Friday, he came back with a whole bunch of flowers and transformed my mum’s kitchen into his ‘work table’. Well, he offered his services to do the bridal bouquet, the groom’s corsage and 2 huge bouquets for the couple’s parents after their thank you speech. He also did the bridesmaids’ corsages using fake flowers the week earlier and I totally forgot to take pictures of them!! =( here’s the bridal bouquet! I love the refreshing burst of colours and the fact that it has wires and butterflies…

  • Mummy’s milestones and more..

Achieved 2 little milestones in the last week.1) I survived a week without der when he went Aussie for work (but I had help from my mum)2) I drove the little bub to the airport alone to receive him when he came back! This really deserves more cheer and well, at least I know I can head out by myself in the car. Helps that Jerry loves car rides. He always falls asleep in them. Frankly, I was a little hesitant about venturing out and was given stern looks from my mum when I expressed my intentions but I know, bringing Jerry to greet hubby when he touched down in…

  • durian cravings..

i still have the urge to eat durians, everyday! especially since it is the durian season now.. the other day, while we were at goodwood park hotel’s min jiang restaurant for dim sum buffet lunch.. i gobbled down many many portions of durian puddings. it was oh-so-yummy!! can i have more please?! the service was really impeccable, the staff were all so attentive, catering to our dining needs, spotting the teapot needing a refill almost immediately when we were finished it up, the food came at all the right times and even though we polished off the entire cart of dim sum off this lady, she gamely served up everything…

  • “You have been washing since last night…”

As I dragged myself out of bed at 4.30am in the morning for some milk production business, I was having a mind full of gripes, and still reeling from fatigue. Because I had such a long and uneventful day, and that I was really more tired than I should be. Everyone was asleep in the household. My uncles and aunt were in the house and as I tip-toed across them to get to the kitchen.. I was in a semi-state of self pity. Because I was the last person to sleep the night before and while everyone is STILL sleeping, here I am trooping off to the kitchen to was…

  • Presents! Jerry’s first nike and more!

my brother who is quite the sneaker fan (he has hundreds of them in different color combination that lines the walls of his room, bought his nephew his first pair of Nike sneakers. Omg. It’s so cute!! I cannot wait till the moment when my boy can wear these. I think at least when he is 9-12months old, meanwhile, mummy here is ogling at the shoes every time I catch the sight of it lying in one corner of the room. Together with the rest of the presents. And oh! Talking about presents, I actually got the items off my wish list – the bumbo chair (in lime green.. Can’t…

  • Today, I eat my words.

Of having my son sleep in the cot ALL THE TIME. I actually asked my mum if she could babysit Jerry throughout the night tonight to ease me of my motherly duties. I am still reeling from the post party fatigue, overwhelmed by the amount of tasks post party and coupled with a fussy baby the whole day, 3 hrly milk production schedule + cleaning works and early mornings (popped into the office today to give my team some cakes & we are going to collect jerry’s passport tomorrow..), I decided I needed a good night sleep. One void of baby cryings and diaper changing. Never mind that I’ll still…

  • Received some love last week from my aunt in Netherlands. I never got round to blogging about it with all the fatigue I was battling and the rough week I had. And so, she painstakingly sent Jerry some presents! She sent a parcel to a friend and my stuff took a free ride along with the stuff and had her friend pop over to pass me the gifts! It was special.. She sent me some baby shower chocolates from netherlands. Those who went to my wedding would have tasted the Dutch bridal sweets that I served before the dinner and now, Jerry got some really special Dutch baby shower chocolates…

  • wee bit of sanity installed.

i was going crazy a couple of days back. the baby has been giving regular bouts of crankiness at specific intervals and timing and i figured, he’s colicky. but while i have tried the usual ways to soothe a colicky baby (warm baths, massage, colic hold, and eventually, letting the baby cry out loud), my mother has been given me the stare for letting the baby cry and she cannot stand it but to come and carry (read: snatch) the baby up. mad frustrating. like it helped matters, the baby still cried on anyway. does not help that the husband decided not to do anything and went with the flow…

  • Update at 26 days old

He has upgraded to being a koala lately! Since my last update a week ago, I have since moved Jerry back into the cot and he sleeps there on all occasions, except the times where I am in the bathroom or expressing milk. He goes into the rocker during those brief moments or the sofa, but briefly. I didn’t blog about it in fear of jinxing it, but I think he’s pretty ok these days. His heat rashes has since cleared up quite a bit, but he has developed some fungi rash (!) at some other parts of his body! He is still peeling like a snake so the pd…

  • am boiling mad.

i think my son is drunk on milk. i really had enough of my mum stuffing milk into my son’s mouth ALL THE TIME. she is doing what, hourly feeds?! and she does it quietly without letting me know even though i am in the same house. just because i am in my own room and not in the sight of the baby all the time. and now, the damn baby is cranky the entire afternoon and refuses to be soothed and i don’t know what is wrong because my schedule/routine is all messed up by my damn mother. her words changes every damn day and i really had it…
