Crab in da Bag – #GotMeat or #NoMeat?
So, I dated my bimbo girlfriend to go Daiso shopping at Kallang Wave tonight and when we were done… we were wandering around wondering what to eat for dinner and we chanced upon the Crab in da Bag signage. Irene says she hasn’t tried it before so I was happy to oblige since I love seafood. In case you haven’t heard, just days ago, the Crab in da Bag Sports Hub branch recently got into FB saga over a 2-star review. I have my reservations about the review because I normally would ask how big or how heavy the crab/prawns when I order seafood in any restaurant. These stuff are usually priced…

US Southern Barbecue Grill Masters at Swensen’s
I took a night off earlier this month and arranged for a girly dinner with a girlfriend. We are both greedy, gluttony people, so when I got invited to try Swensen’s new US Southern Barbecue Favourites menu.. she was the first person that came to my mind! Ok. I confess. I had wanted to bring the kids. After all, Swensen’s is a family friendly restaurant with menu items that caters to everyone in the family but week day night is just plain impossible for me to bring them. I would never be able to make it on time if I had to work in the logistics of shuttling home from work and…

Dinner at Ippudo Sydney & interesting sydney’s sights
I'm usually not a city person, but i do love having the opportunity to visit cities that have interesting sights and historical looking buildings. after all, they are not a common sight in singapore, right? Here's some interesting sights that i saw while making our way from circular quay to QVB (chain mall) to have our dinner on the first evening of our sydney's trip. a street (angel place) filled with loads of empty bird cages. it's an installation titled, "Forgotten songs" that features a bunch of empty bird cages and recorded bird sounds to remind the city dwellers of the abundant birdlife that was in the area prior to…

Team Lunch @ Rokeby
my team had a long overdue team lunch last friday for the june babies. and an unexpected farewell lunch for beverly who left the team rather abruptly. lunch was at rokeby! we always try to go to a different restaurant each time and it was my first time here (though i have been to fat cat which is along the same stretch). The restaurant had a simple, casual decor that was very easy to feel relaxed in. our team of 12 had a small little room to ourselves and we were joking that it felt like a birthday party in mcd (like the olden days). the team! there was a…

Healthy dining starts with ONAKA.
when i first heard about ONAKA, i was pretty blown away. what?! a “no white bread, no white rice, no white sugar” policy?! all-natural ingredients without artifical additivies, chemicals, colorings, flavourings, MSG and trans-fats?? AND 50% of the menu is vegetarian? that sounds like planting roses on mars – impossible. but it is impossibly true. I was invited some weeks back to a food tasting session with ONAKA, short form for Optimum Nutrition And Kitchen Arts. I’m guessing the ‘kitchen’ bit stems from ONAKA’s history where it first started out as a cooking school, but that’s not the important part. the important part is the food. The restaurant serves “Conscious…

mother’s day brunch at GRUB Restaurant.
GRUB restaurant is like the hottest place to check out lately. it kept appearing on a lot of my friends’ blogs and their IG. with it being so near me.. I just had to check it out so I brought my mum there for a mother’s day brunch. ermm.. having read all the rave reviews.. I think my experience fell a bit flat. 1. queues. I have heard about their no reservation rule so I dragged everyone out at 845am to make it for their opening at 9am. turns out, we parked at the wrong car park so we had to take a little stroll. we reach about 920am and…

I loved how chill the restaurant exterior looked, and the team had fun posing with the decor. me, looking rotund and terrible in pictures these days. my face is sooooooo round! restaurant interior. cosy little place with cute little touches here and there! the menu.…

I love all the small little details and touches, the table settings, serviettes with bow ties and interesting quotes pertaining to table manners plastered at unsuspecting corners, greeting you and teasing you.. its quite entertaining to glance around the restaurant reading the little quotes. a feature wall indoors.
