• charlie’s corner

it’s been a while since i blogged about my lunches. I remembered that i used to do it frequently when i was still in the f&b industry, because that was what my life revolve around all the time, and nice lunches was the norm. these days, nice lunches are reduced to birthday celebrations or special occasions. we celebrated eyleen’s birthday 3 weeks back. what was supposed to be a seafood feast became a last minute change of plans as the promotion was over. so, we headed to the next best choice in the area – charlie’s corner @ Changi. very interestingly, we all had different food choices except a duplication…

  • of food.

these days, there hasn’t been much adventure in my life and food is usually the focus. some weeks back, i caught up with andy & cindy for dinner at rider’s cafe on 16 Oct… (what?! its been that long?) our food. our salad. I forgot what salad it is. argh. it happens when u blog about it so long after. my lamb. andy’s fish (with some tangerine/orange flavoured sauce) cindy’s hugeass burger our chocolate cake! am so predictable when it comes to food. it’s either the steak or the lamb or pasta for me all the time. and when its desserts, chocolate always wins! LOL. we were supposed to meet…

  • the past weekend

i seemed to be forever chasing my blog entries these days. i never really get the chance or time to blog when i want to or when i have the inspiration.. and i am beginning to find it a mere ‘obligation’ to update my blog after a while, because i update because i have to. well, don’t get me the wrong way. i’m just feeling obligated to myself because the whole idea of having my own blog is to keep snippets of my life so that i can read it some years later. so, i do hope there’s no long lapse between my entries and my life is being tracked.…

  • the weekend.

these days, the weekend goes by in a flash! the weekend saw more jewellery shopping and it’s no where near improving things as per last weekend. i guess we are pretty decided on the kind of designs that we could consider, the specific ones and possibly customizing one side of it. his side. // friday night. the 3 musketeers go out to play. we popped by greenwood fish market and bistro. WOW! has it been ages since i last went there? the place expanded so much that I almost couldn’t recognise what used to be a cosy nook. and despite increasing the sitting capacity by 200%, they are still turning…

  • the funny thing about cup noodles.

they smell damn good when all your colleagues are eating it.. but when you make a cup for yourself and sink your teeth into those ‘plasticky’ noodles, they taste crap. and i got scolding from everyone in the office for choosing tom yum flavour. my stomach’s aint better and i had a hard time trying to keep the lunch in this afternoon. and then, i keep going to the toilet. feeling constipated! makes me think if my colons are working fine. anyway, the tom yum makes me want to burp a lot. which is good in some sense because I have been feeling bloated with a lot of wind. but…

  • cindy’s last day

the day came and went. cindy’s last day was filled with a lot of fun, great food and loads of natters and of cos, it ended really late into the night before all of us unwillingly parted. we had our last lunch together as colleagues. just the two of us at the cutesy little cafe with a pinch of salt in katong. love the place for it’s lovely decorations, cute illustrations all over and interesting quotes plastered all over the restaurant. even the windows had cute little stickers plastered over. i think the kids would love this place, with a piano set in the middle of the restaurant. i wondered…

  • its food again!

cindy brought me to this bak ku teh place while i was in the region sending my nikon camera for repair. and yes, all these food is shared by just the 2 of us – how NOT to overeat? i admit, i am the greedy one. i like my bak ku teh to be a little on the herby side rather than the peppery side and this happens to be the peppery type. i don’t know how to rate it since it’s not to my preference but i guess it’s passable judging the amount of people eating there. after much researching, i think it’s called Ya Hua Bak Ku Teh.…

  • i love to eat.

i think eating gives me the most pleasure and happiness.. i eat nice food and i instantly cheer up even when i’m in a foul mood.. errrm, i just have to blame my fats on the greediness because i very often over-eat. der needs to learn this (GOOD FOOD PERKS ME UP!) and be acquainted with all the nice tasting food. it’ll be his best friend and tool to keep me happy! not that he doesn’t know it already, but it so happens that i’m more a gourmet lover than he is.. anyway, in the same fashion.. bad food really turn me off. like how the hungry me discovered this…

  • at 2 am in the morning.

the stomach is growling! must be all the food pictures that i am sorting and have YET to post it up. there’s something that i really really feel like sinking my teeth into. actually, i have been always wanting to sink my teeth on them again ever since i tried it. really good yummy stuff. Hmmm.. now what was this called? *knocks head* some thai tapioca dessert at the huge hawker centre opposite the tail end of bukit timah (opposite beauty world), level 2. the tapioca is firm and chewy and its uber delicious! paired with a generous serving of sinful but fresh coconut milk and doused with a small…
