Europe Honeymoon – day 2 in Rome
Day 2 of our Europe honeymoon – We ventured out to get our Roma pass. This is a must if you are visiting the touristy places and travelling via the metro. It’s available at most newstands and it’s 25€. In return, you’ll get a Roma pass that is valid for 3 days (upon activation) that allows numerous trips on all public transport (in our case, metro rides), and gives you access to museums and archaeological sites. We visited many places with this and didn’t had to pay a single cent for entrance! Together with the package, there is an Internet access card that gives you information about shows and other…

Our Rome Holiday – Honeymoon in Rome
It’s been a while… The last post on our rome holiday aka honeymoon has been a long while back. Since homecoming, work has been really busy and with my colleague being on leave for 2 weeks and with the boy leaving for aussieland for work, birthday parties to attend, weekend events for work.. And catching up with our parents over weekend dinners. I barely had the time to rest properly, let alone blog. These days, I hit the bed at 10+pm or before midnight if I can manage it because I’m just so drained and I think stress is also causing very bad migraines for me daily so I have…

Do you know?!
The city of venice is shaped like a fish! The grand canal in the morning, when the bustling activities have yet to start and the canal is still relatively quiet. My lone luggage against the train station as backdrop. Its so quiet at 7+ in the morning. On train leaving for rome.. Lovely city. I think i do want to come back some day. The last of venice (part 2)
Totally hating the iphone app for LJ. I cant blog halfway and go back to it. Grrr. Hence the many many disrupted posts on venice. Der was telling me that we’ll go on the gondola and i went.. Woah.. You sure?! He said yes! Since we wont be coming back here ever, so i think it well worth the money. Haha. Spoke too early. When i told him its minimumly €80-100, he very quickly changed his mind and promptly googled for other options. I almost laughed my arse off. I totally didnt think we’ll go for the gondola. I was thinking of taking the vaporetto (water taxi) around the grand…

The last of venice (part 1)
Am loving this whole honeymoon thingy, because there aint a rush to do anything or see anything and we are pretty much taking it easy with lotsa snooze in between attractions. Haha. It does seemed like its wasted spending so much time in hotel rooms other than out there but i guess its whatever makes you happy at that moment. It just equates to doing the right thing at the right moment and that in itself is happiness. Venice collected quite a bit of rain while we were there, also one of the reasons why we snoozed in the hotel. We didnt want to get wet or sick with the…

Still in rome
Hi hi. After a bad night last night and a near amazing race situation, we are still in rome and will be till tomorrow morning. Totally screwed our plans and 2 nights of paris hotel. All because… We attempted to change flights, run to catch the last 13hr train ride to paris instead of flying, switch to an international airlines by paying up to 15 times the price, fly to berlin and take a 4hr train into paris….. And was really frustrated to be pushed from easyjet ticket counter and ryanair sales counter to the information coumter and i think we queued at least 10 times between the 3. I…

Meet my new but vintage looking friend
Last day in rome. We have nothing else to do but roam the streets aimlessly. And i had to lay my eyes on this. Grrr. Feels silly buying 2 of the same nappa charm bag (though different size and material) but i just had to get this cos it looks different from the usual ones… And i didnt spot this in the milan store. I love love love the prints because its old school looking. Oh wells, they didnt have the greyish blue color for the small one here either. You gain some, you lose some. I didnt manage to get the new chanel bag that i was eyeing from…

Venice day 2 (honeymoon day 5)
Day 2 in venice started bright and early as i wanted to pop by the rialto old market or also known as the tourist market. Its basically a wet market (my kind of thang) and der is quite amused that i want to go to a wet market. Well, find the culture is rich and the sights colorful and the bustling effect, a joy to watch. The vegetables section. Didnt see anything interesting thats different here. The seafood section amazes me!

Continuation of venice.
Pardon me, the previous post was cut off abruptly because the lj app refused to let me edit it any further (just keeps crashing) and though i tried i think at least 40 times, i decided to post it and edit it latet but i still didnt work. So yup, decided to continue in a separate post! Here’s another picture of xsilly being ‘tortured’ by der. I think der just like being irritating. And here’s our lunch! Steak for me.. Vongole for the boy. If you read on, you’ll realise that the boy is really quite boring and not experimental with his food! So far, he only eats this and…

Venice
Arriving in venice gave us a rude shock. Der was thinking we could pretty much take the taxi anywhere (from train stations to hotels etc) but there are no land taxis in venice, only water taxis. This is one place where for 2 whole days, i didnt see a single vehicle and not even a bicycle travelling on the cobberstones ground. Everything was pretty much via water. Arriving at 11.30pm at night is the other nightmare. Most of the waterbuses stopped operation (anyway, we didnt know which to take anyway cos the ticketing counters were closed) so we lugged our luggages and walked through the streets of venice. And we…
