today, everyone in Singapore celebrates the nation’s birthday. I really love Singapore and how we grow and prosper year on year. I don’t think I would ever find another better country to stay in. sure, I love travelling and have been to quite a number of countries but nowhere beats home. Singapore is such a great country to stay in. its so safe (in comparison to others), so efficient, handicap and kids friendly everywhere, good public transport, great infrastructure and all, plus our tax is relatively low. sure, its not perfect but believe me, it a lot better than many many places! this looks like its jerry’s bath time, but it is actually not. it was one of those days where i was busy pottering around the house, doing some chores and my boy was unusually silent. silence with him around simply means he is up to no good. and yup, i found him in the toilet, madly pumping on my self-foaming kirei kirei handwash and foaming up his own head. Family portraits.
I never got round to blogging about this till now because the pictures took such a long time to get to me. at 25 months (2 year 1 month old), it happened.
jerry fighting in school/childcare. I expected this would happen someday because boys would be boys right? but at this young tender age? *in disbelief* I dont quite believe that jerry would bite anyone unprovoked. and someone 3 years his senior? he must be freaking upset or angry. he has a huge scratch across his nose and it looks pretty deep. a pleasant surprise from jerry.
I havent read a book to jerry for ages. my bad. other priorities got the better of me. i tried to show him a new book tonight but he went to his book shelf and pulled this out instead. yes. he likes to choose his own books and this is, afterall one of the newer books in his little library. so here’s my surprise. fitting in, at childcare for Jerry.
its been a month since jerry started childcare. I went to peep at him on Friday and was happy to see that he is finally blending/fitting in at childcare. from the kid that is always away from the pack and in his own world, he is now able to sit with his classmates and join in the class activities. I am soooo proud of him! it might have been a mighty small achievement but it means so much to me. to us, as the parents. and to him, as a child adapting into a new environment. as I was leaving the premises, I bumped into his class teacher…

The funny kid.
I was looking through my old phone relatively new but retired phone (HTC One X) through the cracked screen and was backing up the videos onto my youtube when i came upon this funny clip. We took this while grocery shopping at the mall one day. The kid was overjoyed with carrying our shopping, and REFUSED to let it go even though he was super tired and dozing off! he threw a tantrum every single time we tried to take the bag away.
