my impression of south africa
you know, the sights and colors are just amazing about south africa. the colors of the sky, the plains, the mountains.. the skies are ‘bluer’, the trees, plains and shrubs appears in an amazing spectrum of colors, the stars at night (sorry, i have no pictures for this) are so beautiful. and yes, when the say the stars in africa shine brighter, it really does feel so! this entry is not going to document my journey, but to share some of the amazing landscape colors of the country. i do have some issues (hard disk and memory limitations) right this moment, so I have to find a way to convert…

the weekend gone by..
i didn’t know why, but i was totally knackered. all i wanted was to sleep.. but i managed to accomplish quite a bit (as in heading out). finally visited rider’s cafe for brunch. finally because i never quite managed to drag der outta bed for it. also because he is not quite an ang moh breakfast kinda person. andy joined us (he just landed in the morning) so we sorta had quite a bit of fun exploring around the island and me, as usual.. snapping pictures at food. this just got to be my favourite picture of the day…

malaysia, truly asia!
the best thing about my break last week was not the HK trip. it was the 4 days spent at my grandpa’s place. so funny huh? i guess the hk trip was too rushed in some sense, too short, too tired from all the traveling that’s prior to it and everyone is just so tired to begin with. the msia part was refreshing because it was a lot of peace for me, quiet surroundings and it made me think about things that i never have the time to ponder about in the hectic lives that we lead. well, at least i made an observation. do you think ants are social…

some of my usual mischief..
was going through some of the old photos archive and found some funny pictures of my mischief. remember wall-e movie? i never really watched the movie. i watched it halfway on one of the flights, but i landed before the movie could end, so i never quite know the ending. while it was screening, i took this pictures at the cinema when der and me were going for another movie. and i can’t remember whose desk this is back in my ex-company… but i pasted a “pig head” because i was chasing for something and they have obviously missed the deadline. was it tay jie? Hmmm… and some of my…

of my a&e experience.
one last post before im cuddling up in bed with my babies. took some photos to commemorate that i was in tts.h a&e last week. all the mask wearing and some of the very extensive gear that the clinical staff are wearing really makes me feel like i am flu patient. especially when the screening nurse heard that i am in big pain. she went… are you running any fever?! what about cough, running nose? it’s the way she asked that makes me feel im being scrutinised, and like im having some disease. maybe it’s an over reaction, or maybe it’s just her usual way of asking.. but still. that’s…

of happy things (to me).
just thought i’ll just blog about mindless/silly and happy things to keep myself occupied. der is in china, so i have a little bit more of spare time to add some words to my space here. i am beginning to feel like a mother. except that i have no real kids. you know, after a hard day of work, a mother is usually happy to be home and spending time with the family/kids. me? everyday when i get home and be greeted with this sight, the frustrations of the day just melts away and i’ll be grinning all the time. especially so now that der is away. he is usually…

from almost a month ago..
the ex + current ph/k.fc team gathered to celebrate deric’s full month. my comment? wow. there are just so many kids running around! i find gatherings like these a good opportunity to catch up with people you hardly get to meet. i was busy chatting most of the time, so didn’t really take a lot of pictures.. view the whole set here. all the kids were kinda traumatized as all the aunties and uncles started wanting to carry them and passing them around like a game of musical chairs when they start crying. as usual, i do not belong to the group that attempt to carry anyone of them. errrmm,…
