Leia’s Birth Story…
After almost 2 months, I finally found little pockets of time to work on a post about Leia’s birth story. Leia’s birth probably caught A LOT of you by surprise… I didn’t tell people about it (even close friends or relatives), and those people who knew were those that see me frequently. Even so, when enquired, I usually tell them I am fat (till they finally figure it’s not). And then I go “Tadah!” with this IG post on 24 Feb, 2018, about 5hrs right after I have given birth. What that also means is that this pregnancy is not documented, at least not on the social media front. WHY?…

my day during confinement
wanted to jot down a typical day while doing confinement. I don’t think i’ll go through this pregnancy journey again (especially so now that i know i am a g6pd carrier) so i guess some form of journaling is required to remind myself what i went through. my confinement is anything but typical. I would think confinement = loads of rest, constantly lying down resting and not move so that the body can recover. me? i’m constantly “working” non stop and perpetually sleep deprived. i dont have a maid, nor a confinement lady. My house is wayyyyyy too crammed to house any additional person anyway. Here’s how one of my…

mummy updates.
I realised.. this blog space of mine is filled with everything about my kids these days! wanted to blog down some updates about myself, more for my own future reference than anything else. these are the last few pictures of me being preggers! incidentally, they are all taken in toilets! 1st pic was in the private toilet in paragon (yes, there is a private toilet for Citibank paragon card holders and I loveeeee it to bits cos it’s always clean, empty, big mirror and filled with expensive lotions for use). 2nd pic was taken in an apartment at Marina bay sands residence where der and me were busy checking…

birth story of jerome
this post would have been a week 38 update of the pregnancy, but it will be about Jerome’s birth story instead. and a drama one maybe. 23 Jan (Wednesday)my gynae visit was due. it’s been a week since I bumped into the sharp edge of the table in the office and was told I would deliver within the next 7 days. it was the 7th day and the predicted delivery didn’t happen (at least not yet) but I was having contractions more frequently than ever, coupled with this dull cramp in the lower abdomen that I never had before. it was a busy week for der and…

week 37!
couple of days ago, i had an ‘accident’ at work. I wasn’t paying attention to my surroundings and wasn’t watching where I was going. the next thing I knew, I felt a super sharp pain in my lower abdomen and I let out a scream. there was a loud bang/crash and a lot of my colleagues stood up from their seats to see what happened and started fussing over me. well.. I banged my stomach into a sharp edge of a table in the office that was placed there temporarily and I couldn’t.stand.up. thereafter. when I finally did.. tears flowed down my face involuntarily while I struggled to…

at week 36 and day 4.
it’s getting unbearable. the pelvic pains are setting in, I feel extremely heavy and am waddling when I walk. does not help that the contractions are also happening so frequently together with the sciatica pains shooting down my legs. my tail bone hurts big time when I sit at my work desk for a tad too long and I still have to deal with urine incontinence with the baby pressing down my bladder. argh. pregnancy woes. and sleep. I haven’t slept well for a while, and recently, I keep getting cramps in my right leg (the same leg that I had a surgery some years back) so I’m…

welcoming 2013!
we kicked off the start of the new year with an adventure! have been wanting to expose Jerry to more outdoor activities and our mother nature so we took opportunity of the public holiday on 1 Jan and popped to pulau ubin! I originally wanted to head towards macritchie but found out that my cousin’s family is popping over to ubin so I joined them instead! first time on a bumper boat enroute to the island. he’s quite freaked out by the engine noise and crawled into my arms. when he finally got over his fear.. stepping foot on the island! a family shot! daddy can’t open his eyes in…

at week 34
ultrasound at wk32+. the ultrasound scan hasn’t been showing much for the past few months because the baby’s head is down so there hasn’t been anything interesting to show. I have started to notice that my face is getting rounder by the day, mostly evident in the photos of me. it has also been rather depressing since I am down to very limited pieces of clothing to rotate since I have outgrown quite a bit of them and they are simply too tight to be even comfortable at all..because of that, I have been rather reluctant to step out of the house or feel auntish whenever I head out.…

my maternity fashion.
maternity fashion is the topic i’m gonna talk about today! I’m passionate about it because I believe in looking good regardless. I almost never get a seat on the trains, even when my tummy is swaying on the trains in the faces of the commuters. I even once had a guy standing beside me snatch the ‘reserved’ seat when its finally vacated. goodness really. I think there could be three scenarios: 1. they are blind 2. they lack the basic courtesy or empathy 3. they simply don’t bother or dont think I deserve the seat I secretly suspect its also partly due to my dressing. I think I don’t dress…

halfway mark @ 20 weeks.
ok. I’m flashing a little birdie at all of you. heh. birdie of my little prince. I can’t quite believe i’m halfway there! I have been so so busy at work so much so that blogging has seriously taken a back seat in my life. I crashed out on most nights before midnight if I’m home early, or I’ll be typing away on the laptop. and by early, I meant reaching home at about 9pm, in time to grab a quick dinner before putting my son in bed. not quite that ‘early’ by normal people standards. people around me seemed to be enjoying work life balance with knock off timings…
