Happy birthday to me.
It’s my birthday again. The last one still felt so recent. I am on leave because I don’t really like to work on my birthday! But I forgot to silent the phone when I went to bed the night before and the day started with the phone beeping non stop from my group chats with greetings from 7am onwards. *goans* This year, I made plans to visit the TCM (gotta heal my leg fast for Nepal) and plonked myself at Starbucks for a couple of hours to do work (no choice) and waited for hubby to come pick me up to spend the afternoon together and have dinner. It was just…

5 Christmas gift ideas for the husband!
Christmas is just days away… and I know many people are still doing their last minute shopping for Christmas gifts. I..uhh.. admit to be one of them. I still need to get a few more gifts. Shopping for ideal gifts can sometimes be quite a pain! Every year, I crack my head on what Christmas gift to buy for my husband. This year, I brainstormed long and hard way in advance and here’s 5 gift ideas for husbands. 1. An Omega Watch Every one needs a watch to tell the time. Ok, maybe in this time and era, most people can tell time from their mobile phones. But a watch can be a…

Prepping the Teacher’s Day Present.
Teacher’s Day is next week! Parents with young school-going children like me are fretting about what to get. I know there are parents who don’t really bother, but I wanted to show my appreciation because I am thankful of the teachers who nurture my kids in the school they are at. All of them whom have impacted my kids in one way or another. I scrambled to put something together last week because I know we will be away on vacation in Taiwan. Want to know what I got for Jerry & Jerome’s teachers? Here’s a hint! Spent a few hours at night prepping the pressies with the husband. Here’s a image of the…

teacher’s day presents.
and so, tomorrow is teacher’s day. if you have school going children like me, have you prepped the presents? or has it been a really tedious process, pondering about what presents to give them? or maybe, you have no intentions of doing anything at all? Lol. i do feel people these days are, in general, more critical then appreciative towards everyone around them. or it could have been the wide spread use of social media which has amplified the negative voices. I know I am fully guilty of dishing out complaints a lot more than praises or compliments on a daily basis. its so much easier to complain,…

my mother’s present!
my mother’s day couldnt have started more splendidly for me, especially when I thought nothing exciting was happening except that my family is going for brunch before my brother flies off for another vacation. how wrong I was. and how pleasantly surprised I was. these days, with jerry in school.. we no longer have to sleep battles to fight. no, scratch that. we have shorter sleep battles to fight because he usually goes down before 9.30pm (so do we, in fact). so when mother’s day came round at midnight, I woke from my nap and was quietly surfing the net on my phone while all my boys…

Jerry turns TWO!
this year, i feel guilty about NOT PLANNING his birthday celebration. after the huge spongebob party last year (read about the preparations here), we were simply too overwhelmed with the other events of our lives (caring for a new baby, renovations works, overseas biz trip and reservist for der etc) to find time prepping for it. i had grand ideas of giving him a polw celebration in sentosa but realised that i don’t know enough kids to send invitation to (party package starts from 20 kids onwards). so, we did nothing except to plan for a family only celebration, together with my nephew Levon who’s birthday falls on the same…

happy mother’s day.
jerry came home from school today with a mother’s day present for me.. so sweet! so I heard he helped in mixing and stirring the batter.. brought a smile to my face. when I got home.. guess what happened? I found him nomming on the little muffins! I asked to share and he rejected me! and then proceeding to stuff everything (including the muffin liners) into his mouth! ohhh.. how nice he is. I guess my present is a good laugh instead. what I really would like is that my boys grow up healthily, stay happy, let me have at least 5hrs stretch of sleep at…

the v-day bouquet
wanted to log this down because it was really unexpected. we werent planning to do any sort of celebration for vday this year since I am serving my confinement and won’t be able to consume outside food. and boy, was I surprised when the husband appeared at my room doorstep at 4.30pm! he usually only comes home at about 9.30pm or later. and to make the day even better, he gave me a bouquet of……… rilakkumas! I just had to laugh at the sight of it, because I am not a fan of these bears.. and they remind me of my colleague, Beverly because she likes them a…

Christmas is coming!
which, would also signal the end of another year. gosh. I want to ask where all that time has gone to but I know I spent most of it slogging away on ny work desk. in the same note, with Der being away in China for a week, me being heavily pregnant with the delivery date just weeks away, and having to juggle work (everyone is clearing leave except me) and caring for jerry.. I have been extremely tired. add the stress of prepping for the festive season and getting everyone’s present ready.. imma is very very sleep deprived so this blog is near its death I think. and…

The husband’s birthday.
Planning for the husband’s birthday made me realize something. I don’t have the excess energy to do something like that anymore these days. It takes a lot of effort! I feel a lot older and less energetic like i was in the past. Any little pockets of time I have, I rather crawl into bed, and close my eyes for a short nap, or simply, spacing out. Is this how is it like with kids? So, I invited the husband’s close friends to brunch at spruce to surprise the husband and nonchalantly told the husband that I haven’t planned anything but lets just go have brunch at a “new” place…
