BounceOFF! Race with the Hubby!
So, I said I wanted to be a little healthier in 2015. I started the year rather well (or so I think), and I picked up blading again (after a few years hiatus thanks to child bearing), and I also dabbled my hands into rock-climbing lately. All these sporty activities of mine are rubbing off the husband and I am happy to declare that he is quite fit recently and clocking in at least a few runs a week. I’m rather impressed with his progress, more than so my own. The recent haze is making us very gloomy, and we have since stopped a lot of the out-door activities that…

Jerry goes for the Cold Storage Kids Run 2013!
if you have met or seen jerry in real life, you will know that i have a very active boy on my hands. he sprints away for some fun the moment an opportunity opens up, or is ever ready for a game of catching where he runs and mummy/daddy chases after him, or around a pillar (he loves the pillar thing!). so we were really excited that Jerry is finally of age to join the cold storage kids run this year! i was pretty sure he’ll be a champ and run ALL the way, judging at how he loves to run, all the time. turns out, things never quite happens…

should i or should i not?
deliberating on the following… i wanted to do the run because it’s something different with the obstacles. but then, i’m holding back because I am so afraid that I’ll get really tanned in the process. HOW? ultimate dilemma. You can find out more or sign up HERE.

jp morgan run
i am slowly catching up with the backlogs. but i guess it’s never as good as when the event is fresh in your mind. i feel so sucky about this, because on the day of the run, i was feeling shivers down my spine in the morning, sneezed non stop in the early morning and i tried to remedy the situation by downing glasses and glasses of water and as well as a vit c effervescent. i thought i could make it throughout, but the cramps and the stitches apparently were the show stoppers. oh wells. at least i did have fun posing for pictures, staring at people running past…

my run yesterday.
i finished 5.6km of continuous jogging in 38.53 yesterday. i know its slow.. but at least, i feel relatively good after the run, and i managed to keep a consistent pace throughout, even tho halfway through my ipod died. my legs felt good today, no ache or whatsoever. all that stretching after really helps. great. more hula hoopings and prob another run tonight.

another jog at the park.
with the jp morgan run coming nearer.. i thought it’s best i better start being regular at my jogging sesh to train up my stamina + get my old aching legs into the rhythm. was supposed to run together with xsf when she last min decided that she had some work to clear.. so i went solo. and i thought i could push myself to complete 5.6km. all i did was a pathetic 3.6km, at 23mins. my speed was slightly faster today, but while i was going at my 10th round.. i caught a whiff of a very unpleasant smell that lingered around the track, coming from someone that was…

creaking bones
my bones are creaking. finally dragged my lazy bones for a run in the park. it’s been more than a month since my last run. was aiming to run 5.6km and check out my timing and try to improve on it for the future runs… but i was 3 rounds short of the distance and covered only 4.4km before slowing slow and decided that i shouldn’t push myself and waited for shufen while jogging on the spot to ask if she still wanted to continue. haha. actually, i was kinda demoralized in the run. i never liked long distances because it’s very much a mental game.. and i get bored…

it has been a while…
since i last participated in a race.. when was my last? the 07 standard chartered that i didn’t turn up for? (i was sick then). i haven’t been into the running mode for the longest time. i haven’t been diligent also. oh wells. anyway, i signed up for the J.P Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge i am representing the green camp! omg. i must start training for it soon. now, that’s a goal that i can work toward to. 🙂

one packed day.
i took a cooling bath and i am still not feeling any better with regards to the vomiting spell. i wonder if its due to… 1. the small bowl of plain porridge that i had an hour before the run 2. the amount of water i drank after i reached home 3. my gastric problems that has been causing me to feel like retching every time i put something into my mouth 4. the overdose of teh peng (2 big cups) that i had in the evening. figured the feeling is not going to leave till i fall asleep.. i better get on with my life. and blog! haha. i’m…
