jerome plays with sir prance-a-lot
At 3.5 months, jerome is getting a little more interactive with his surroundings. my mum hung a lamaze toy in front of him this afternoon while she went about her chores and he started putting out his hand to push it. although he did miss a few times before he actually hit the swinging toy, i was silently rooting his each attempt. too cute! I suddenly have a flashed back memory of jerry doing the same thing not too long ago.. but he is so grown up now! gotta cherish these baby moments before they are all gone! jerry test drives his car!
when jerry turned one year old, my cousins-in-laws bought a really huge toy car for him. back then, he was really terrified of it (omg! this thing moves and jerks!!) so we had it parked at my in-laws’ place. jerry only sees and play with it at the corridor when he pops over on the weekends. his love with all things car has since grown so we finally got our act together and brought the car out for a test drive at bishan park last saturday! i find this sight really hilarious. the car fits perfectly in der’s car boot. there was an empty car lot beside us in the…

aspiring chef
we bought a cooking set for our boy last week! through our observation, I think this kid like this type of pretend play and its really a good buy. he’ll serve me an empty cup and have me ‘drink’ it, and follow suit with another for himself. he’ll occupy himself cutting the vegetables and cooking, which is good news for us parents – finally take relax a bit while the hyper kid is occupied. it was also great that we manage to buy a set in blue! meanwhile, grandma (my mum) is frowning at the growing toy stash. heh. I got reminded of my younger days where I…

jerry’s new toy.
we spent Saturday at home just bumming around because it was raining so heavily and it was a good opportunity to wind down from all the rest of the activities we had from weeks before. and we let jerry open up one of this birthday presents as a treat. yes, we are still having the stash of birthday presents unwrapped and sitting in a corner of my room. we are rationing them slowly giving him one every alternate week so that it’ll last him a while without us buying new toys for him. (learnt the useful tip from ..thanks babe!) this is a self-fix Thomas the train that…

Babies and remotes
Can someone tell me what’s with babies/kids’ fascination with remotes? And oh. IPhone too. Is it the rectangle shape? Posted via LiveJournal app for iPhone.

Turning into one of them.
The kiasu parents that can’t wait to let their kids start learning and reading. Ok. It was bothering me for a bit that I wasn’t reading any books or bed time stories or teaching Jerry anything at all for a while. I read books/websites and they all indicated that babies can learn to identify with colors and baby books with sharp contrasts do them good and aid their ability to learn (or something of the sort la). All Jerry had was this sophie giraffe that was gifted and no one also sang children songs to him (I sucks at singing), der doesn’t know what baby/children songs there are or maybe…

The babies goes for a wash..
In anticipation of the arrival of Jerry, all the babies get a wash too! Last wednesday, when the sun was good, my mum started on the deed. I’m quite amused at how my mum hangs them out to dry.. But guess who gets left out and is happily sleeping on the bed? Haha! This greeted me when i got home.. I thought it was left out on purpose but my mum insisted that she took everything to the wash.. Oh well, till the next wash. All my toys are clean and smelling really nice but der hates the detergent smell and prefers his smelly babies. Heh. Posted via LiveJournal app…

Presents for Jerry from auntie Jen!
I think all babies are lucky beings. They are always being gifted with presents before they are out! Mum here ain’t so lucky because my dear Jen went Xiamen and I didn’t get a present! Jerry has not 1 but 2 presents from her! Unfair! Mr bunny here is totally baby friendly, no eyes, buttons or small parts. I haven’t thought of a name for him yet. Currently, he’s occupying Jerry’s bed! And he got another onesie too! It says suitors in q! I’m quite sure daddy will agree with that tagline cos he thinks Jerry is sure to take after his traits! More clothes for my boy.. The wardrobe…

Voodoo-Ed!
That’s the present that I bought back for some of my colleagues. I forgot to take a picture of them all before I gave them out.. So, here’s the blackie one that I kept for myself because it was the only one that was in dark skin tone! Hand made dolls made for the Bali street children. Proceeds of the doll goes to giving the kids education and keeping them off the streets so that they can have the opportunity of leading satisfactory and productive lives. I didn’t have much cash with me (der only changed s$500 for our entire stay in Bali) so I could only buy for some…
