• day 1, taipei

the day in taipei started kinda late since we couldnt get the early morning flight. took the flight at noon and i was totally cranky with all the rushing and not being able to get motion sickness pills before i headed off to the airport.. when we landed in taipei, we met andy! he was taking over our flight and heading back to sing! see the 2 of them being separated by a glass panel? people walking pass would think we were nuts, trying to communicate.. we stayed in paradise hotel, an old hotel located a street away from ximending. the room was ok, nothing fantastic. the only grouse i…

  • vietnam day 4

i am having a little wee bit of problem trying to put a recollection of the trip at this point in time. it’s been 2 months since the trip! well, also because i accidentally threw the itinerary away. thankfully, the chronological pictures helps! headed to mekong river on the 4th day. mekong river reminds me of chao praya river in thailand, but it’s a much calmer version with pretty blue boats all over. i didnt ask the guide, but i wonder why the boats are all in the same color.. such a pretty sight. we took a boat to one of the islands and here’s some pictures of the pier…

  • vietnam adventures (day 3, part 2)

after the trishaw ride, we headed to mount nho to see the christ of vung tau.. my uncles and aunt, all ready to go! that’s me at the beginning of the climb.. the usual signature jump and statues along the climb. my brother with the dragonfly that he caught. look at his sweat dripping from the climb! it’s NOT easy for sure! right at the top.. the magnificent view from the shoulders of the christ statue.. the 4 pictures form an 180 degrees view if you can imagine it.. i only managed to climb onto one shoulder blade of the christ statue. the standing space was pathetically constrained to max…

  • Last Meal in hk

Exchanged the hkd$240 meal voucher that we got from the flight delay for our dinner. 2 bowls of ajisan ramen with sides and 2 cups of triple scoop ben and jerrys ice cream topped with m&ms! We had a hard time eating everything cos we were so stuffed! I miss the holidaying already. Had a hard time trying to get out of bed this morning after 10 days of sleeping in. I’m having a blue tuesday… [mobile post on train @ amk]

  • it’s almost midnight

urgh. watching the clock and it ticking closer to midnight, i am sad to announce that my holidays stress-free days are over. it’s back to the office tomorrow. chatted with kenties earlier in the evening and he said i seemed to be in a good mood today. he’s not exactly right, but i think i am more relaxed because i have no work to rush. there is, but till now, i am still unwilling to log into my office webmail. that could wait when im back tomorrow since my colleagues already updated me that there is nothing much that’s so important that couldn’t wait. there is a lot of photos…

  • Jetting off hk

Am on board the plane now.. Shutting my phone and heading back to sing. Thinking of it, i hardly did anything in the 4 days here. Wow. This is considered one of the most leisure trip ever.. Spending time like i would back in sing, just eating out and going to the movies, of cos.. I think macau was the highlight of this trip. [mobile post on plane @ hk]

  • in hk international airport

am stuck here at the airport because the flight is delayed. anyhow, i’m not complaining because i would have already missed my flight if the flight is not delayed. am here at the airport on time, but i was told by my aunt that i’m flying united. well, the receipt that i’m holding doesn’t say the airlines, so i really assumed it was united. after all, i didnt have a single glitch from sing to taipei and taipei to hk. anyway, anyhow, we were in the united queue for the longest time and the queue wasn’t even moving. 1 hr before the flight departure, there were at least 40 people…

  • The shopping frenzy starts.

3rd day in hk. Finally have the chance to hit the streets shopping district. Have been really tired out with all the shopping/walking/sight seeing in taiwan that all i want to do in hk is nua. Spent the whole of yesterday in macau. Didn’t accomplished much tho.. Cos der seemed to be glued to the slot machines. Brought him to see the venetian and he’s so amazed. Should see the one in vegas, much better! Haha. Ok. Spending money already! [mobile post @ harbour city, hk]

  • Observation

Made an interesting observation today. Realised that the people in taiwan are mostly dressed in sneakers or flat mary janes. A train full of passengers and yet, only 1 pairs of heels is spotted. Most of the passengers also prefer to stand. I wonder if there is any relation to the shoes that they wear. Back in sing, most people have the tendency to snatch the seats and most of the time, they are clad in heels. The elderly designated seats are always empty. Very considerate people they are, they queue orderly to board the train, give way on escalators and are very friendly! If only our singaporeans are like…
