• where i was over the weekend..

new york… // new york hotel in jb i meant. where the view spans into nothingness. with a funeral to attend and uncle and grandpa in JB, bro & me booked 2 hotel rooms to “facilitate” our stay. the only sad thing is that, we didn’t really have much chance to enjoy the hotel, coming back close to midnight every day and heading out at 8am. my aching bones are collapsing into shambles. so much so, i had to crawl back into bed at 11am today to grab an hr nap before we are due to check out. i guess funerals are mentally draining events. i’m glad that mum enjoys…

  • malaysia, truly asia!

the best thing about my break last week was not the HK trip. it was the 4 days spent at my grandpa’s place. so funny huh? i guess the hk trip was too rushed in some sense, too short, too tired from all the traveling that’s prior to it and everyone is just so tired to begin with. the msia part was refreshing because it was a lot of peace for me, quiet surroundings and it made me think about things that i never have the time to ponder about in the hectic lives that we lead. well, at least i made an observation. do you think ants are social…

  • my loots from hk.

everyone has been asking if hk was fun. it was nothing much except sight-seeing. contrary to the usual belief of eating non stop and shopping non stop.. i didn’t do that. food consisted mainly of the hotel breakfast and random snack here and there. i only had dim sum on the last day for lunch and only visited a ‘cha chang teng’ (tea house) once for gong zai mien. i only got about 5 hours of shopping time (travelling included) and well.. i just grabbed whatever i could. and tadah! these are my loots. a cherry tomato plant! this is the first thing i bought in hk.. at just S$3!…

  • off to hong kong in 2 hours!

need to get ready (read: bathe) and head for the airport in the next 5 mins. the body has been extremely tired out, from a lot of driving and the past 4 days have been quite an adventure going to places and getting things done. just that i didn’t manage to get my blogging done. because there was simply no time and too tired to do so. i guess driving drains your brain juice too. anyway, had been out in msia (grandpa’s place) over the weekend and drove up to melacca with the family. errr.. it had been a stressful trip in some ways and i scraped the front bumper…

  • the weekend (part 3)

sunday started for me way before the sun was up. at 5am, i was staring into the ceiling of my room and hearing the household stirring and my mum knocking on my door at 5.30am. we planned a visit to my grandpa’s house (yes, again!) since last week when mum and brother was there, grandpa had an accident with the new car. i guess the change from some 70+ years of driving a manual car makes it hard to change his driving habits to adapt to an auto car. while a brand new car was crashed, we were more concerned with grandpa so we decided to visit again to provide…

  • a vacation finally!

i am going on a vacation (like finally!). the trip has been brewing for the past weeks and the tickets are booked, it just that i haven’t gotten round to announcing it. but.. the recent news on HK being listed as one of the countries affected by swine flu is such a BIG damper. 🙁 now i wonder if i could even travel. my only hopes is that the swine flu thing dies down and the virus does not spread. so long no additional people in HK is being diagnosed with the flu, i take it as good news. for now, i can only wait and see. it doesnt help…

  • day 3, melbourne trip

day 3 was a touristy day. aunt and me joined tours for the entire day, since it was the only day that we could join the tours. at 7am in the morning, we started out day waiting out in the hotel lobby for the bus to pick up us. We had melbourne city tour in the morning, and philip island tours in the afternoon. The melbourne city tour was the one i sorta regretted doing, because it meant that i won’t have any shopping time left for the trip. and guess what?! i bumped into fiona on swanston street! all the while, i was trying to meet her for dinner…

  • melbourne trip, day 2

i finally am sitting myself down and disciplining myself to blog about the melbourne before it doesn’t happen at all, like what happened to HK & macau earlier this year. i think too much travelling is resulting in my lack of enthusiasm. hee. day 2 in melbourne was relatively simple. i waited for my aunt to arrive at the hotel around noon, so i stayed in the hotel surfing the net. lunch was at the famous lygon street. so many people told me to go dine there! on the way walking to lygon, i was busy soaking in the sights of melbourne city. that’s my school (RMIT) with campuses all…

  • dead tired

i’m now comfortably snuggled under the covers in my hotel room at king’s street, all alone. my itinerary was ruined when i came back to the hotel room to drop some things, because what was intended as a rest turned into a nap.. and it’s now 11.41pm and i have yet to have dinner. =( well, there’s no way im heading out at this hour so i am so thankful i got a loaf of raisin bread with some cream cheese spread and chocolates with me. sadly, these will have to settle.. shall buy myself a nice meal tomorrow instead. ok. i am so tired i’m crashing out. the internet…
