Because family matters more.
Last Monday, I took urgent leave and made a last minute trip to Malaysia to visit my grandpa. You know how we always give ourselves the excuse that we will visit someone when we have the time but the time never come before it is too late? I don’t want that to ever happen to me again ever since my maternal grandma passed away 2 years back. So, I had to skip a training at work and brought the entire family on a road trip to visit my grandpa. After all, he is turning a century old next year. The stars aligned that day and my uncles and aunty were going to be there…

Time out with a day trip to Johor Bahru, Malaysia!
Life is fun when it is littered with bits of impromptus. Last monday, I went on a day trip to Johor with Estella! It was like really last minute, and I only applied leave on the evening of the Friday before. Talk about randomness! Ok. Partly it was because I still had 14 days of annual leave to clear for the rest of the year and it’s constantly bugging me at the back of my head because the year is soon coming to an end and I foresee having an issue to clear out all of them. (p.s. if you are wondering if I can carry them forward, the 14…

Swimming with Whale Sharks in Oslob, Cebu, Philippines
I am still grappling with the fatigue from the trip and plunging into work right after, but I just. had. to. share. I checked off 1 more item off my bucket list! Woohoo! One down, many more to go and totally looking forward to it. And yes, you read that right. I SWAM WITH THE SHARKS. And there was 5 of them in total! That was the sole purpose of my Cebu trip, really. It was an amazing, amazing experience. Probably the most amazing travelling experience I have ever had, the excitement of seeing a really huge giant right before my eyes, the adrenaline of being so close to the…

Bangkok vacation, protest and rally sites
Are you following me on instagram? No? why not?! If you did, am sure you would have seen pictures of my bangkok vacation 2 weekends ago. Honestly, other than the pictures i posted on instagram, i have nothing much to show because i barely whipped out my camera even though i had it with me all the time. I was busy meeting up friends, shopping, and drinking starbucks. and OH. EAT. like NON STOP. and maybe, i tried to cafe hop but didnt have the time, so i basically hop from one to another without eating. not exactly the idea of cafe hopping, i know. Actually, it was a team bonding…

Flashback Friday #4 – Have you seen a monkey with blue testicles?
with a subject title like that, i must have caught your attention… haven’t i? a monkey with blue testicles! heh heh. I’m just going to share the most extraordinary monkey i have ever seen, while holidaying in Zambia, Africa a couple of years ago. one with blue testicles! really! see? i aint lying.. I know i sounded perverted, but they are really fascinating to look at (the monkeys, not just the balls) and of cos, i had to snap some pictures! I guess no one would believe me unless i have pictorial evidence right? My uncles who were on the same trip as me couldn’t believe their ears when i…

Flashback Friday #3 – Travelling in Zambia
I mentioned in my previous flashback friday post that i nearly got kicked by a zebra. So, this week… thought i’ll show you the zebras and the close proximity we were in at the hotel (zambezi sun) during my stay while travelling in Zambia. wild zebras roaming around the hotel grounds. watching and observing them in such close proximity is an amazing experience. my uncle discreetly approaching. ta-dah! Zebra butt. The zebra in the last picture is the one that attempted to kick me. Seconds after i took this image, i happened to turn and walk away. That moment was when the zebra lifted his hind legs and gave a…

Flashback Friday #2 – The Amazing Victoria Falls (Mosi-oa-Tunya – the smoke that thunders)
I never completed journaling down my south africa trip from 4 years ago. the last i checked… my last entry was at day 6 of the trip… and i had to stop cos i was going to be late for a flight to orlando. ahhhh.. orlando. a trip that i never got round to blogging about at all. maybe i’ll do that for the next flash back friday instead. i totally miss travelling pre-kids. you know, the luxury of dropping everything and flying last minute? the thrill of not knowing where i’ll be and what’s my next travel destination. adhoc travels used to my kind of thing, i realised. still,…

Flashback Friday #1 – My visit to Illinois from many moons ago (2007!)
taking a break from the sydney trip, i’m gonna launch into another country US state that i visited but never got round to blogging about. Also, i think i’m gonna make it a point to do a #flashbackfriday post every friday because i do have a lot of outdated stuff that i want to talk about! So yup. Illinois. For the longest time, i kept telling people i went to chicago, but the truth is… i landed in Chicago O’Hare International Airport and zipped out of the place in under an hour. i only saw the chicago airport and some streets. nothing else. I spent the most of my time…

Madame Tussards Sydney
This post is all about our trip to Madame Tussards Sydney. I know, i said i’ll blog about the Wild Life Zoo next in my earlier post on Sydney’s Sea Life Aquarium, but i totally forgot that we went Madame Tussauds before the zoo. So, i’m just gonna talk about Madam Tussauds first. If you know me, i’m more of a animal, marine life person or adventurous type of person. Thrill-seeking type if you need to label me. or nature-loving. I’l visit zoos, aquariums, do climbs, white-water rafting in a jiffy but museum sorta places, i’ll choose carefully and only do those that interests me. so, Madame Tussauds isn’t really…
