Turning into one of them.
The kiasu parents that can’t wait to let their kids start learning and reading. Ok. It was bothering me for a bit that I wasn’t reading any books or bed time stories or teaching Jerry anything at all for a while. I read books/websites and they all indicated that babies can learn to identify with colors and baby books with sharp contrasts do them good and aid their ability to learn (or something of the sort la). All Jerry had was this sophie giraffe that was gifted and no one also sang children songs to him (I sucks at singing), der doesn’t know what baby/children songs there are or maybe…

At 2 months and 2 days old.
Jerry flipped from his back to his tummy! What a milestone! I wasn’t expecting it to happen till he is 3-4 months old? I googled on it and some babies do flip at 2 months. It depends on how strong their neck and limbs are. It happened when I was having dinner and watching tv and we were all in the living room with Jerry and my brother lying on the sofa side by side. I suddenly heard my brother scream, jumped up and quickly turn my baby over to his back again (reflex action) cos he got a fright. He didn’t know my dear baby has been trying to…

The last visit in a long while.
It’s my last visit to the gynae today.. And it marks the end of a journey for me. I always complain and hated the long queues at the gynae’s office. Today, I was early because I got the husband to drop me off instead (cos he forgot about my appt and made an important appt at work and couldnt accompany me.. *roll eyes*). And wow. There isn’t a single soul in the clinic except the clinic assistants! It’s a first for me, seeing the clinic empty. Heh. It didn’t last long, 5 mins later.. People started strolling in and as usual, the appointments are all booked up way ahead and…

Happy 2 months, baby!
picture taken in the car today after our visit to the paedatrician. In a flash, 2 months went by just like that! Today, we marked the day with a visit to the paedatrician and had your rotavirus vaccination… A milestone of your own kind. You reacted with a short cry and you are my brave little one. you turned smiley on the way home and although you spent the afternoon being a little cranky, mummy is wishing the best for you and hopefully, you won’t develop a fever. At 2 months, your head circumference has grown to 38cm, grew 2cm longer since your last paed visit to 57cm and weigh…

The weekend.
Love this picture of my boys, snoozing on a Saturday morning. Dim sum high tea buffet at goodwood park (again). It seems like THE place of the month for me. Been there so many times, but the buffet was good, and the key highlight was mini abalone siew mai. I forgot to take a picture!! And when I remembered, it was never refilled anymore. Bummer! And of cos, the yummy durian pudding which each of us had a serving each. If only, the durian pudding was buffet style! Lugged home a whole loaf of durian strudel.. And was gone before midnight was up, despite being so so full from the…

Mummy’s milestones and more..
Achieved 2 little milestones in the last week.1) I survived a week without der when he went Aussie for work (but I had help from my mum)2) I drove the little bub to the airport alone to receive him when he came back! This really deserves more cheer and well, at least I know I can head out by myself in the car. Helps that Jerry loves car rides. He always falls asleep in them. Frankly, I was a little hesitant about venturing out and was given stern looks from my mum when I expressed my intentions but I know, bringing Jerry to greet hubby when he touched down in…

Girly date and being tourist.
Long overdue post, but guess what? I spent the last 1.5 weeks in a semi comatose state where I mostly ate/slept/milked myself. I have no idea why I am sooooo tired! I tried to read and end up dozing off, same goes when I tried to use the computer. Argh! 2 Fridays ago, I popped out with Bernice for buffet lunch at todai. If you remembered, I blogged about my mum refusing to let me bring the kiddo along. I think I enjoyed the ‘freedom’! All ready to head out! These days, dressing up is a bit of a headache. I cant quite fit into a lot of tops that…

Green Lantern.
The hubby and me snuck out for a movie on Sunday night again. Am very thankful for my mum who is always ready to care for my baby and let me heads out with ease. We caught the green lantern and I like the movie! Pretty awesome but I cannot wait to watch the transformers which is launching today! Anyhow, we ended the movie date in a debate. (warning: spoiler ahead if you haven’t watched the movie). There’s this liner that says, the bigger you are, the faster you’ll burn …in one of the scenes where Hal will single-handedly defeat parallax by drawing him to the sun. Der says he…

Washing, washing and more washing.
My days are characterized by bottle washing these days. A normal day sees me going through 6-8 cycles of it. Some times, I get lazy and let it pile for a while and the above is one such scenario. Yesterday, I realized that my fingers are starting to peel.. And it is a tad too dry. Ahh.. The perils of over-washing. The price to pay for motherhood. Someone (Jen) asked me.. Are you enjoying motherhood? How is it different? Actually, truth is.. No. I don’t quite enjoy motherhood. I don’t see the joy in it (yet). I miss my carefree life, but I can’t deny maternity leave rocks. I have…

Cat mountain surprise.
I love throwing surprises. When the mood struck me that is. And of cos, the opportunity to do so.. I blogged about the goodwood park’s mao shan power puffs that was oh-so-good in my previous post. And because the promotion period is nearing its end, and my mum has yet to try.. The puff was too small to be shared among so many of us the other day so I brought her to buy some yesterday. Yes, crazily enough.. I drove out just to get the puffs.. Got one for my in-laws and another for Jen as a surprise, since I was meeting her for dinner last night. Here’s a…
