Art jamming with Pumpkin Patch on Mother’s Day weekend

Ok. Month-old news (but still news!!). I tried my hands at art jamming with the husband during the Mother’s Day weekend.

Actually.. it was meant to be an art jamming session for Jerry the kiddo, but life sometimes, doesn’t quite go the way you plan it. When we arrived in vivocity.. guess what the kid is doing? He totally concussed, way before noon! Just one of those days!

So what is supposed to be a parent-kid art jamming session, became a husband-wife art jamming session instead. Or rather, i sent the husband to paint me a painting while I just stood around and chill. Heh. Here’s the husband hard at work, with his ipad on his lap to reference a coplu‘s painting, a painter and we both love a lot. If you can see, we started much later than everyone else because we arrived late at the event. I had an earlier event in the morning that over ran and actually didn’t think that I’ll make it. But the ladies from Fox Kids & Baby and Pumpkin Patch have been so kind to us, and i really just wanted to pop by and say Hi!

I think i really gave him a too difficult task, especially when we were pitting against time, and halfway through i decided to join in the fun and helped messed up his painting. I mean, he was doing such a fine job before I started to meddle with the painting and kinda ruined it.

That's me, trying to study the picture of the painting intently.

Serious at work. P.s. did anyone realised that everyone is gone?

Halfway through it all, the boy woke up and started playing with my camera. He’s very into taking pictures on a camera lately. I should really give him one of my old cameras to play with because he just loves fiddling with it and snapping away!

Love this shot that Jerry took! (ok, maybe except that fat arms)

It may not be much, but i really really love the above picture that Jerry took of us, even though there is my fat arm. It very nicely captured the moment where both der & me were intently painting our coplu-inspired piece. We didn’t manage to complete the image – only managed to fill in all the colours, but not the shadows, so the picture really is kinda flat looking. Here’s an image of Coplu’s original artwork. The colours on the different hearts were off, but i didn’t have the time to really mix the color that i need, so i just kept painting each time i mixed a new colour, just to rush finish the painting. I know, i kinda spoiled it for the husband because he was doing such a fine job before that. There was no shadowing nor highlights on the hearts, they just went flat, but we managed to fill up the entire canvas with some colors at least. Anything goes so long as we had fun! What do you think for a 45 mins job? It’s so fun, I want to do this again! (Thank you Pumpkin Patch once again for the invitation!) We spent the rest of the afternoon shopping away and getting some clothes for the kiddos from where else, Pumpkin Patch!

Looking very adultish here!

That was about the only thing Jerry is willing to put on for me.. before he got glued to the play corner within the shop. I reckon it might be good news for us since we can shop with the peace of mind (knowing that he’s somewhere near) and with ease without having someone constantly to bug us with his needs or one thousand and one questions.

Daddy choosing the clothes for the kiddos.

We spent a long time deciding what to get for the boys. The clothes were so lovely, and we are in love with a lot of the prints. Daddy even wished the printed tees were in adult sizes, like the one he is holding in his hands here. You know how it is quite common for mummies and their girls to find matchy matchy clothes, but the daddies and boys never seem to have stylish options to dress as father and son?

The boys’ range from Pumpkin Patch is so stylish and I really love browsing through them. There was also a lot of accessories to go along as well – sunglasses that doesn’t look at all kiddy, straw hats, caps, bow ties, shoes, socks etc. There’s something from casuals to the formal for one to choose from. Will share my shopping hauls another day.

Meanwhile, if you are a fan of Pumpkin Patch also.. DON’T MISS THEIR GREAT SINGAPORE SALE THAT’S HAPPENING RIGHT ABOUT NOWWWWW! There is 30% off selected styles and if you are a Patch Club member, you’ll get an EXTRA 10% off! Promotion valid till 8 June.

Yes, that’s this weekend. Now, should i go shopping again? Lol.

P.s. I hope the painting isn’t crappy, in fact, it is the best mother’s day present I ever got (not that i have much mother’s day present anyway!)

Disclaimer: I was invited to the art jamming session by the lovely ladies Pumpkin Patch and their kind sponsor My Art Studio. Any painting deemed crappy is purely of our own making and all thoughts and opinions are of my own.

Hi there! Thanks for popping by. I'm Cherie, a ftwm (full-time working mum) to 3 lovely kids (2 boys & a princess) and my motto in life is to BE HAPPY. Sure, life isn't all that smooth but it's the mentality that counts, no? This blog documents my life. Or rather, snippets of my life that has passed me by. I love capturing life memories in the blog and being able to read back and laugh at myself (or anyone). I love to eat (A LOT), travel and paint my own nails so the blog is mostly about that. Is that considered lifestyle? Of cos, the family is also very much an integral part of me so there would be loads of memories about the husband and my kids - Jerry (9yo), Jerome (7yo) and Leia (2.5yo) and everyone else that's close to me. I like documenting the kids' milestones, their growing up years, their achievements (and sometimes, mine), and my struggles and battles with motherhood. It sure ain't easy. I love seeking out good food and travelling, is trigger-happy, love new gadgets, love exploring new places and strives to live life to the fullest. I aspire to travel the world as much as I can, to soak in the different sights across the various continents and visit all the Disneylands in the world (almost there!). Have fun reading and do drop me a comment to say hi! Love, Cherie Lim Find me on Instagram.
