My say

I have been wanting to put my views across a matter.. But i keep holding back in case i get picked up by any search engine.

Recently, s m r t came up with this s m r t green campaign that encourage people to take the train/buses because there is less harmful effects per head since there is economy of scale. Or something like that. I haven’t really stop to read the poster but i do see it every day. But my whole point is.. Why are the posters only placed in m r t stations since the people in the stations are already taking train?

Ok. I know about the general awareness about letting people know so that when they think about taking a cab, they’ll think twice? But hey, if you were a regular train commuter and you take train everyday, chances are when you take a cab, you really don’t have much choices (i.e. Late, or place inaccessible by train). In those situations, would you even consider about going green?

Fine. There’s also another arguement in the area of media cost. Hey, the station’s theirs and it’s foc to put it up! But what’s the whole point of putting it up to the wrong audience? It’s a waste of precious production budget! I think the s m r t cabs would be a much better medium since it’s constantly on the roads for the drivers to see, and it targets the people who take the cabs! The buses are also another great medium since they are huge, hard to miss and on the roads. Imagine you are waiting to flag a cab and this huge bus drive pass you. You’ll be sure to take a look, don’t you? Not too sure if the campaign is brought there, but if it is, the numbers are not enough to gain the reach since i haven’t seen it on the roads yet.

Hmmm.. Anyway, that’s just my point of view as a commuter and i’ll just really puzzled. Oh ya. You could say i have zhi-ye-bing. Haha.

I’m rushing to work now but i’m hopping i’ll reach before 9am.

Yippee yeah! It’s friday! I’m happy! Are you? It’s party time! (for me, it’s time for me to sleep/rest).

Hi there! Thanks for popping by. I'm Cherie, a ftwm (full-time working mum) to 3 lovely kids (2 boys & a princess) and my motto in life is to BE HAPPY. Sure, life isn't all that smooth but it's the mentality that counts, no? This blog documents my life. Or rather, snippets of my life that has passed me by. I love capturing life memories in the blog and being able to read back and laugh at myself (or anyone). I love to eat (A LOT), travel and paint my own nails so the blog is mostly about that. Is that considered lifestyle? Of cos, the family is also very much an integral part of me so there would be loads of memories about the husband and my kids - Jerry (9yo), Jerome (7yo) and Leia (2.5yo) and everyone else that's close to me. I like documenting the kids' milestones, their growing up years, their achievements (and sometimes, mine), and my struggles and battles with motherhood. It sure ain't easy. I love seeking out good food and travelling, is trigger-happy, love new gadgets, love exploring new places and strives to live life to the fullest. I aspire to travel the world as much as I can, to soak in the different sights across the various continents and visit all the Disneylands in the world (almost there!). Have fun reading and do drop me a comment to say hi! Love, Cherie Lim Find me on Instagram.

I vaguely heard of the campaign but have never seen it in action.

    Now I know why.

Maybe they decided that they just want to reinstate the concept to their existing customers, shld they be thinking of buying car or taking cab ~ maintaining mkt share??

you want to know why they cant put it on buses and taxis ? It is just the same as why you seldom see pro-taxi ads on buses and trains..or pro-bus ads on taxis and trains.

    err. I think
