Prepping the Teacher’s Day Present.

Teacher’s Day is next week! Parents with young school-going children like me are fretting about what to get. I know there are parents who don’t really bother, but I wanted to show my appreciation because I am thankful of the teachers who nurture my kids in the school they are at. All of them whom have impacted my kids in one way or another. I scrambled to put something together last week because I know we will be away on vacation in Taiwan. Want to know what I got for Jerry & Jerome’s teachers? Here’s a hint!

Spent a few hours at night prepping the pressies with the husband. Here’s a image of the final product!

I thought it was a meaningful gift, because I have seen the kids grow so much in the past year, not just physically, but intellectually. The kids talk fondly about their teachers as well and I haven’t heard a single complain from the kids about the teachers. That said so much to me.

I have so much to be thankful for. The teachers have always been very prompt to inform me when something happens to my kids, whether they are running a fever or they suffered some injuries in school. I always hear it personally through a phone call before the grandmothers show up to fetch the kids. It shows how responsible the teachers are, and how systematic the school is as well. The husband & me decided to give all the teachers in the school the gift, even including the cooks and the cleaners, because they are all so nice to Jerry & Jerome. It’s something really small and very affordable, but it’s not about the price tag. It’s about the thought that goes behind the gift. Am sure it will make their day!

If you want to know, I got the plants and the cups from Ikea. The plants cost $2.90 each, and the cups are from the kitchen section and is on sale at $0.90. So, together, it only cost $3.80 per plant.

Made a tag to go along with the plants. I just googled for printables, resized them, printed it out and pasted it on pieces of drawing paper stuck together with a toothpick, and hand stamped “Love Jerry Jerome” and the back. My stamp set didn’t come with the commas and ampersands so I had to make do. LOL. And that was it!

The unfortunate bit was that I had wanted the kids to help in prepping the gifts, but I have been rather busy the entire week and coming home really late. The kids were in bed when I did the presents, but I guess it is ok. There is always next year.

The funny bit? I bought the plants about 4 days prior to giving the teachers and my kid kept asking me every morning if he could bring it to school already!

And, please go ahead and copy the idea if you have not yet prepped any presents and are fretting on what to give! Here’s another idea of a teacher’s day present that I gave 2 years ago that I blogged about. I hope this post is at least useful in giving you some ideas on what can be done for last minute teacher’s day presents.

Till I write again, see ya!

Hi there! Thanks for popping by. I'm Cherie, a ftwm (full-time working mum) to 3 lovely kids (2 boys & a princess) and my motto in life is to BE HAPPY. Sure, life isn't all that smooth but it's the mentality that counts, no? This blog documents my life. Or rather, snippets of my life that has passed me by. I love capturing life memories in the blog and being able to read back and laugh at myself (or anyone). I love to eat (A LOT), travel and paint my own nails so the blog is mostly about that. Is that considered lifestyle? Of cos, the family is also very much an integral part of me so there would be loads of memories about the husband and my kids - Jerry (9yo), Jerome (7yo) and Leia (2.5yo) and everyone else that's close to me. I like documenting the kids' milestones, their growing up years, their achievements (and sometimes, mine), and my struggles and battles with motherhood. It sure ain't easy. I love seeking out good food and travelling, is trigger-happy, love new gadgets, love exploring new places and strives to live life to the fullest. I aspire to travel the world as much as I can, to soak in the different sights across the various continents and visit all the Disneylands in the world (almost there!). Have fun reading and do drop me a comment to say hi! Love, Cherie Lim Find me on Instagram.
