trying to get fit..
i finally got my lazy arse moving and started to take tiny little steps to introduce some fitness into my daily routine. simpy because, i cant quite stand the sight of my flabby tummy and its getting really hard to suck it all in these days. so i hula-hooped! i wasnt able to leave the house for any exercise (i would love being able to do a run) since my mum cannot cope with the 2 kiddos so hula hoops sounds like a pretty good idea. i do them at the corridor (out of jerry’s sight) but near enough to hear if any help is needed (or trouble at…

an evening by the beach
i have been wanting to do this beach thing for eons and havent found the opportunity because of my pregnancy, rainy season, confinement etc. have been trying to expose jerry to the great outdoors since he is such a energizer bunny. we headed to daiso to load up on the play kits. i had wanted to by kiddy palace when the husband suggested daiso. brilliant idea. we were kinda going crazy because since it $2, we got all the different sets available, huge spades and a bucket. bouncing off at the park. we bundled jerome along as well since there isnt anyone who could look after him and we…

single parenting.
the husband is serving his reservist currently for 2 weeks. with a relatively new born in the house and an (super hyper) active toddler in the house, you can say I’m in pretty bad shape. sleep deprived nights. one week down, another one to go. the nights are the toughest because I have zero help at all, on top of the moo moo chores and all that bottles washing and sterilizing shit, I think I am on the brink of falling sick. but before I did.. jerry caught a bug and is pretty much very sick the entire day. he missed his afternoon nap today because his nose…

jerome turns 1 month!
and just like that.. a month passed us by! happy 1 month, my little one! the day started early when we woke the kids, bathed them and packed them out of the house before 8.45am. for Jerome, bathing was done with pomelo and pomogranate (红花) leaves. ermm, the leaf was strategically placed. heh. his head looks really big in comparison to his tiny feet here! for me, I was up at 6am to help my mum pack the red eggs and ang gu kueh. my mum spent the night before cooking 140 eggs and coloring them. massive operation! I dressed Jerome in a customized romper that I made…

our own nest.
I almost forgotten to blog about this.. with the happenings and fatigue in the past 2 months, with me roughing out my last trimester as a pregnant lady, the childbirth, confinement, preparation of Jerome’s full month party and having my hands full with the 2 kids and being a moo moo cow. we have finally gotten the keys to our own nest! it actually happened in early Jan so this is pretty late news. here’s some pictures, though everything is rather bare and we have yet to do anything since it’s was nearing CNY and the contractors are usually stop work during this period. our living room, really tiny…

jerome’s first visit to the pediatrician
on Thursday, we bundled the baby off for his first pediatrician visit right of his life. because he is in a swaddle, I left him on the car seat and I sat in the back seat to check on him. since it was really early in the morning, I pulled out his legs for some suntanning action. the good news is.. Jerome put on weight! he was 2.62kg at birth, but lost weight and left the hospital at the weight of 2.49kg. so at 2.75kg, it’s really good news! bad news? his jaundice level shot up to almost double the levels. he left the hospital at 6.6 but after…

Christmas game : angels and mortals
each year, as Christmas approaches.. a small group of my colleagues will gather to play this game. its actually a secret Santa game but we call our version angels and mortals. rules of the game – we set aside a budget, draw lots to determine everyone’s mortal (together with 3 items on their wish list based on the budget) and then for weeks leading up to Christmas, the angel has to secretly do nice things for the mortal. everybody keeps their mortal a secret from each other while others throw out decoys and claim credit for the stuff they didn’t do. on the day of exchange, we usually…

one random day..
these days, I bring my nephew out quite a bit when an opportunity permits since the 2 boys are quite pally and loves hanging out with each other. they are exactly 1 year apart (share the same birthday) and its quite cute looking at them. this was one of those weekdays some weeks back, both the husb & I happened to be on leave so we trooped out and brought the kiddos to polliwogs! my cousin and husb chased the kiddos around while I spent 2 hours chilling at the cafe, reading. playing games and.. did a manicure. lol. the finished product! she sings the blue by Deborah lippmann..…

brunch ay canopy with the cousins.
last weekend, the cousins and me planned for brunch! it wasnt so much the food but more for the kiddos to get together and us just gathering together. my nephew Levon trying to hold Jerry’s hands so he doesnt run about while the husb keeps a watchful eye. my cheeky son trying to take off. xsilly joined us and he has a playdate too! having a ride on Donald! lol. it was my first time at canopy and I didn’t realised that there were a lot more indoor seats within in an adjacent restaurant building that belongs under the same management. I love that we were tucked in a…

aspiring chef
we bought a cooking set for our boy last week! through our observation, I think this kid like this type of pretend play and its really a good buy. he’ll serve me an empty cup and have me ‘drink’ it, and follow suit with another for himself. he’ll occupy himself cutting the vegetables and cooking, which is good news for us parents – finally take relax a bit while the hyper kid is occupied. it was also great that we manage to buy a set in blue! meanwhile, grandma (my mum) is frowning at the growing toy stash. heh. I got reminded of my younger days where I…
