pictures of the party!
warning. this is a picture heavy post!
the cool kid with his new (remote control) car. yes, ‘spongebob’ branded nonetheless.
hey, is my party starting already?!
here are my elves, in balloon production. my bro’s DA BEST! He does these balloons so fast and efficiently.
Loads and loads of balloons with sponge bobs.
life-sized spongebob. definitely created an impact at the party.
birthday boy admiring the balloons.
customised spongebob balloon.. can you spot “Jerry”?
the birthday boy, complete with a DIY party hat that i made.
instructions here. i find this blog very interesting and useful for pretty DIY stuff!
excuse me, but i find the drool uber cute.
prepping the cabinet of goodies! Ooh, i also had some spongebob face towels (for babies) and pencil case (older kids) to be given away!
done! That’s the activity packs on the 3rd shelf.
the ez-card stickers to be given away. i hand drew the spongebob background using color pencils in 15mins (at 430am in the morning on day of party).
yes, i was quite anal about the party.
Love the little details. I got these spongebob fun picks to put on the finger foods
jerry fishing out an angpow from my cousin-in-law’s bag..
party madness. this is about 3/4 of the function room and it was very unfortunate that i couldn’t invite a lot of people as my guests list is bursting. with just family, it was almost a hundred pax so i had to cut down a lot of friends. next year, maybe i’ll do separate ones to fit everyone!
the birthday cake from pine’s garden. It’s a lychee martini (bottom layer) and orange zest (top layer).
I got the cake toppers from the US and added the handmade 2 spongebobs by the side for decoration.

the birthday suit! Specially customized for his birthday party by pixiethreads.net
everyone was complaining about the color staining from the cream, while i found it very useful to catch those who didnt eat the cake! I just went around asking to see everyone’s tongue! Heh heh.
a rare moment he gets, chilling out with girls his age, estelle and kylie. Hmm..which babe is hotter?
another shot with the girls. Should I give them my sweets?
… and that’s it! The party ended with the birthday boy crashing on the sofa, amongst all his sponge bob friends.
(ikr, the amount of props and stuff that I have)
Jerry had a separate party with his cousin, Levon whose birthday is the same day but one year older that very same night. shall blog about that another day. meanwhile, i’ll go get ready to head out and enjoy the last bit of my weekend. i hope you enjoyed the pictures as much as i did, doing up the blog post.

Woah!! Sponge bob overload!! But it’s very nice!! I’m very inpressed with all the DIY craft!! My hubby wanted to buy the same remote control car and have the same kind of “grand entrance” at J’s party but u convinced him that there was not enough “parking space” at home for the car =p

LOL. The car was a present from my hubby’s cousins. its huge and its currently in my in-laws place cos there’s no space for storage.. (i dont own my own place yet, so all i have is a room at home)
my FIL says i need to pay $65 for season parking the car at their place. -_-”

Cool! Do you get this in your email? I cannot find any mention of our sites in the asianparent.com website… or am I looking at the wrong site?

Chanced upon your blog. Cuteness overloaded! You must have put in so much efforts for the party. Mind sharing where is this venue? Am in a frantic search for a suitable venue for a 1st Year Birthday Party now. Thanks in advance 🙂

Hi there!
The party was held in a condo function room (Maysprings @ Petir Road). It’s was a relative’s house though. I tried looking for spaces for the party as well but i either find them small or too expensive (think hotel ballrooms etc) or just not right. I had loads of adult guests so the children playground type of venue didnt occur to me. So i just thought about where my friends/relatives’ stay and be thick-skin to ask! usually they’ll oblige (especially relatives) since they will want to play with the kids.
How many pax are you looking at and any specific location? or whether its needs to be atas/grand etc? If in casual setting, you can try bottle tree village function room (affordable) near khatib mrt station or grassroots club beside yio chu kang mrt. (sorry, they are all in the north!)
Oh oh! just the other day, i went to jacob ballards chidren garden and someone was having a birthday party there. it’s quite interesting but its outdoors though and im not sure how they went about booking the place. maybe could call up the botanical gardens and enquire!
