Celebrating the little men in my life with Pumpkin Patch Kids.

Have you guessed who I am talking about? Of cos, I’m talking about Jerry & Jerome. While I haven’t looked, they both have grown so much.

Jerome is almost the same weight as Jerry now (just a few hundred grams difference!), blabbers a lot with a few clearly recognizable words like 水 and neh neh. He can speak a lot more, I caught him a few times saying stuff that blows me off, but at this point in time, my poor brain fails me.  He’s still shorter than Jerry, but I think he will surpass Jerry very soon and is very much his own person. Totally different from Jerry. He adores Jerry and loves to be wherever the brother is, doing whatever Jerry is doing and just being close to him. He even prefers to snuggle next to Jerry in bed, much to Jerry’s wrath who thinks that Didi wants to snatch his space. I love cuddling him because he is a lot more meaty to hug, and being the baby, he is just too cute.

Jerry, on the other hand is getting a tad uncontrollable. I have difficulties in reining him in sometimes, and is on the verge of going bonkers. At 3yo, he is all about testing boundaries these days. On bad days – tantrums aplenty, opinionated child, never takes no for an answer, constantly wants to buy new toys, refuses to eat/bathe/sleep and more. On good days – he is still very much a sweet, handsome boy (if i may say so!) who helps whenever asked, kisses the little brother and listens to our instructions. We get both good and bad days and are still trying to recreate more good days than bad.

Having 2 boys is like having 2 monkeys. Never a dull day in parenting. I won’t admit it is easy, because its not, but while it has been extremely exhausting, there are joys where nothing else measures up and your heart just swells up with loads of love. Especially with a sight like this..

And then there are the fights. Where they shout at each other, push each other, beat each other, BITE each other (for the record, Jerome 1 Jerry 0), wrestle and tumble together and presses each other down. They don’t know it now, but in come to come, they will only have each other to rely on and I hope these fights would bring them much closer so that they would love each other more. The current fights are all toys related, makes me wonder if I should buy 2 of the same thing next time. But I know I shouldn’t. They need to work it out themselves and learn how to share.

You know what is signature of them lately? Their outfits. Heh. I love dressing them the same! I have been at it for almost a year now and you can check out some of their matching outfits here, here and here.

Probably also the reason why I get the “Are they twins” question a lot. In the course of it all, I found some benefits to them dressing the same!

Saves time – I only have one outfit to think about and just grab the same for the other kid!

Easy recognition – I can easily spot the boys in the same outfit in a sea of people and this has mostly helped in identifying where my kids are and keep a watchful eye. It also draw attention from others and I often have people giving me warnings when one kid is in trouble or doing something funny (like eating his shoe).

If I can, I want to dress my hubby in the same clothes as them too!

Look at them – so hyper, so active and so mischievous. I have been trying to bring them more to the outdoors to burn up their energy but at the same time, it is exhausting for me to chase after them. I think my old bones are crumbling.

Is this a preview of what I will experience when they are teens? Jerry made a snowman with the bubbles and refused to let Jerome touch, yet, he is showing it off to the girl here. Hur Hur Hur..

Jerome is quite the explorer. He checks out everything and everything. He walks right up to strangers and cosy up with them. He touches everything in sight, eats his shoe as a hobby and loves running.

He is very strong and I often lose the struggle with him if I carry him in my arms and he struggles to be let free.  He’s too strong and determined for my poor arms (or my husband’s, or my brother’s, or anyone for the matter). He is opinionated in his own way, chooses the toys he wants and never lets go if you try to take it from him. He chooses the people he likes to be with and stay clear of those he doesn’t like. I like that he mostly entertains himself with toys, plays easily by himself and is generally an easy baby to care for, except that he still wakes up for milk in the middle of the night.

This little cutie pie is currently daddy’s favourite and has since taken over my position as daddy’s #1. I am currently standing at the #2 position and I’m so torn between loving him and being jealous of the attention that he is getting from daddy. That said, I guess I am never happier in life and I love that I have 2 little cuties to come home to everyday.

I personally love this series of faded printed tees. They are printed on the inside of the clothes to create that faded look, and is so in trend with the current fashion trend for men (especially the tees with a front pocket). They really look like little men and somewhat very similar to the husb’s dressing! Even the husb approves! I’ll share more outfits from Pumpkin Patch kids in my upcoming posts. In fact, you’ll be seeing the kids dressed in them very often because I very much love their clothes. Makes them both my little men. 🙂

Disclaimer: This is part of a series of sponsored post with Pumpkin Patch. The boys are now lovingly clothed by Pumpkin Patch and we love love love the style! All thoughts and opinions and active monkeys are of my own.

Hi there! Thanks for popping by. I'm Cherie, a ftwm (full-time working mum) to 3 lovely kids (2 boys & a princess) and my motto in life is to BE HAPPY. Sure, life isn't all that smooth but it's the mentality that counts, no? This blog documents my life. Or rather, snippets of my life that has passed me by. I love capturing life memories in the blog and being able to read back and laugh at myself (or anyone). I love to eat (A LOT), travel and paint my own nails so the blog is mostly about that. Is that considered lifestyle? Of cos, the family is also very much an integral part of me so there would be loads of memories about the husband and my kids - Jerry (9yo), Jerome (7yo) and Leia (2.5yo) and everyone else that's close to me. I like documenting the kids' milestones, their growing up years, their achievements (and sometimes, mine), and my struggles and battles with motherhood. It sure ain't easy. I love seeking out good food and travelling, is trigger-happy, love new gadgets, love exploring new places and strives to live life to the fullest. I aspire to travel the world as much as I can, to soak in the different sights across the various continents and visit all the Disneylands in the world (almost there!). Have fun reading and do drop me a comment to say hi! Love, Cherie Lim Find me on Instagram.
