• Tooth Fairy writes a note for Jerry

    Jerry & the Tooth Fairy

9 May 2017, Tuesday, 10.30pm. Jerry lost his first tooth ever. It has been shaky for weeks and his new teeth has been peeking beside the baby tooth for a while. We were still wondering if he was going to have his birthday pictures toothless some weeks back. I was secretly glad that the tooth didn’t come off before his birthday although the tooth obviously shifted its position and looked totally out of place. The kid has been complaining about chewing certain stuff that is too tough and have rejected eating some foods because it hurts. Last night, the kid showed me his super wobbly tooth.. and I could tell…

  • Chinese Calligraphy and Finger Painting

The boys recently tried their hands on Chinese calligraphy and finger painting when we were invited to preview FOX’s new CNY collection in their store. Oh boy, they both had a lot of fun! By the way, if you have yet to do much clothes shopping for your kids this CNY, do keep your eyes peeled to the end of the post. You might just win an outfit for your kid! I never saw my hyper kids so attentive and so glued to their seats before, so it was really refreshing observing them throughout the class. The class instructor brought them through the basics, the couplets and paintings on display,…

  • My 3yo & Chinese Chess.

Jerry pulled out my chinese chess set from my cupboard that’s filled with loads of card and board games 3 nights ago. And he bugged me for more than 15 mins to play it with him. Just how do you play Chinese chess with a 3yo? A game that involves recognising the different characters, the various moves each make and the strategy behind the game? And he, for now, someone that can’t even recognise a single Chinese character yet? I tried explaining that the game is too difficult, and that its really meant for papa & mama but he wouldn’t take no for an answer and kept telling me, “Play…

  • Jerome turns 2 years old!

I know I haven’t been blogging much. It’s been somewhat a crazy last week and I have been making subtle changes to my lifestyle as well. Don’t you always feel that a year gives you a brand new re-start and serves more motivation to make the changes that you have always been thinking about? I’m doing just that and I will share more in a separate post, but meanwhile, this post is all about my kid! Jerome turned 2 years old last friday. We didn’t have a big birthday do, but just small celebrations with family. The first was the Sunday before his actual birthday. There was no fancy cake even, just…

  • Jerome goes to the market!

It’s going to be a picture spam of Jerome heading to the market with me while I was solo parenting some weeks back, more for the benefit of the husband who missed all these. I had to do the school run every morning to bring Jerry to school. The problem is, I also have to lug Jerome wherever I go, so this is the sight every other morning. Jerry’s school is actually near my mum’s place and not mine, so I shifted into my mum’s place (everyone is away travelling) to save myself from driving the 2 kids to and fro everyday.  Saved me a lot of time actually, but of…

  • My little boy, Jerome.

Today is a day that I rejoice! Finally, the 3 weeks of solo parenting is OVER! The government returned my husband to me last night and even though I was stuck in a class till almost midnight, there is so much to be happy about! One of them is, of cos, moving back into my own home later today. Can’t wait. I miss my bed! While the solo parenting has been somewhat tough and extremely tiring, I got to bond a lot with my little kid, Jerome. He was stuck to me at the hip almost everyday when I was on leave for a week and boy, did we have fun!…

  • Mummy, cannot see!

A funny incident happened last night, and I wanted to add this to my virtual bank of memories about my kid, Jerry. I was prompting him to go to the toilet last night to pee.. and when he finally did, he went into the toilet and came out almost immediately, pants intact, shouting the following.. “Mummy, cannot see!” Errr, okayyy.. and I turned away. The next thing I know, he pulled down his pants outside the toilet and went back in to pee. That’s when it struck me. He meant “cannot see” as in the toilet is too dark and he cannot see anything inside. I kept thinking that he…

  • My funny Jerome Choo.

I am gonna share some of the funny antics of Jerome, just for laughs. You know how kids always do the weirdest things, and the funniest things.. without a worry or care in the world. They simply don’t care what others think. The floor is Jerome’s best friend. This kid, he crawls on those smooth floors, under the tables, out and about all the cabinets thinking that it is a playground. I had the shop assistant scold me for it. Uhh, it’s not like I never did try to restrain him, but he has a mind of his own! He found it so fun, I don’t have the heart to…

  • Jerry faces the wall.

The most unthinkable thing happened yesterday. One of our biggest fear… Jerry drew on our white walls with a marker.  I don’t have a picture of the drawing on the wall. I was scrubbing some dirty socks in the toilet when I heard the husband screamed in hysterics. Something he hasn’t done before and I instinctively knew something bad happened. I rushed to the room with the scrub in my hand, saw the drawing and almost fainted. I just immediately used the scrub that I was holding in my hand to try and scrub it clean, with minimal results. The husband was screaming away at the kid, and my mind…
