Midnight cake delivery anyone?

Life’s too short to say no to cakes. Are you one of those who loves a piece of cake without a special occasion? I am! I love having cakes whenever, and I actually crave for them all the time. I eat it for breakfast, as a snack to go with my coffee in the afternoon or just whenever I feel like it, even if it’s in the middle of the night. And wow, I just found out there *IS* midnight cake delivery! (Psst, I also create occasions just to eat cake, like celebrating birthdays for my soft toy.)

Are you just as piqued with the midnight delivery? Totally can surprise your loved once at midnight! Cake Delivery Singapore does just that and more! There was a few occasions where I totally forgot to order cakes for my loved ones until it’s too late and had to beg bakers to help me or get one off the shelves, and once, even attempting to bake it myself (never doing that again!). Wished I knew about Cake Delivery Singapore during those occasions. I have only recently found out about them, as they have offered me some cakes to try. Cakes aside, I was also surprised to find that they also offer 100% Money Back Guarantee and 1Hr Same Day Free Delivery on their wide range of handmade gourmet cakes.

There is a wide variety of cakes available on their website, ranging from cheesecakes, chiffon cakes, chocolate cakes, Christmas log cakes (is it Christmas yet?), durian cakes (DID SOMEONE JUST SAY DURIAN?!), ice cream cakes and more! I couldn’t decide which one to try but they have a truly unique offering for the greedy me! They have a “Build Your Own Cake” option where you can choose all the different flavours that you want to eat in slices! I had the biggest one where I get to choose 12 slices in a cake, but decided on only on 5 flavours because there is so many mouths in my house to steal at my cakes share with.

My top choice was the Ondeh Ondeh because it’s really hard to find a good one and it’s not commonly found as well (if you know of a really good one, do share with me!). I ordered the Chocolate Ganache (kids love chocolates), the Rainbow cake (oh so pretty to look at), the Chocolate Rainbow Cake as well as Bubblegum flavour! Hmmm.. Bubblegum in a cake sounds like a kid’s favourite.

We finished all the cakes in one sitting, on a day where my mum is at my place and it was 2 days after delivery before I actually had the time/chance to eat them cakes! The kids all gobbled it up all at once like hungry kids, and declaring their favourites while at it. Here’s our reviews of the cakes!

First up – Bubblegum cake slice. It tasted really like bubblegum layered with very soft layers of chocolate chiffon cake. I was surprised at the softness of the sponge (even after 2 days), and the rainbow colours make it extremely appealing to Leia. It’s her favourite, needless to say… while the rest of us prefer something else.

With the Ondeh ondeh cake slice, it’s very flavourful, and tasted like the real thing! The cake was moist (still!), very soft and tasted juicy from the brown sugar. It came with 2 types of coconut fillings – the middle fillings are laced with brown sugar and the top ones are sliced coconut bits. I really this love this cake, and eating it is a whole new sensation – crunchy bits with wet juicy bits on soft sponge. I would rate it a 9/10 – the missing 1 only because I don’t know if there is better out there! My mum found it nice, but too sweet to her liking. In my defense, it wouldn’t taste like ondeh ondeh otherwise!

The Chocolate Ganache slice turns out to be the husband’s favourite. Rich, smooth chocolatey flavour and not overly sweet. The cake feels a little dry to taste but not sure if it’s because I ate it only 2 days post delivery. The husband was glad to have more of this regardless as it is totally up his alley.

The Rainbow cake slice is just so vibrant and pretty to look at. It features really soft chiffon cake sponge with very light cream. It’s yummy as a rainbow cake, but that’s about it without any additional flavour.

Chocolate rainbow cake taste the same as the rainbow cake, but comes with a yummy dark chocolate coating, with sprinkles that added a slight crunch to the cake. The chocolate added more flavour to the cake, but lost it’s lightness that comes with a fresh cream cake. Both is nice, so it really depends on what type of cake is your preference.

So, what’s the verdict? Here’s a tally of our votes!
– Rainbow cake (fresh cream) – 2 votes (Jerry & Jerome)
– Bubblegum – 1 vote (Leia)
– Chocolate Ganche – 1 vote (the husb)
– Ondeh Ondeh – 2 votes (my mum & me!)

The results? It’s a tie between the fresh cream rainbow cake and the ondeh ondeh!

My mum still voted for ondeh ondeh across the cake flavours despite being too sweet. I think it’s because it’s a flavour that she could resonate with.

Cake Delivery Singpaore not only just have cakes, they also offer flowers, soft toys , balloons, pies and other sweet treats! I was eyeing the really cute Sugar Plum Llamacorn plushie but definitely too old for it. Thank goodness I have a daughter to buy cute toys for now.

Hi there! Thanks for popping by. I'm Cherie, a ftwm (full-time working mum) to 3 lovely kids (2 boys & a princess) and my motto in life is to BE HAPPY. Sure, life isn't all that smooth but it's the mentality that counts, no? This blog documents my life. Or rather, snippets of my life that has passed me by. I love capturing life memories in the blog and being able to read back and laugh at myself (or anyone). I love to eat (A LOT), travel and paint my own nails so the blog is mostly about that. Is that considered lifestyle? Of cos, the family is also very much an integral part of me so there would be loads of memories about the husband and my kids - Jerry (9yo), Jerome (7yo) and Leia (2.5yo) and everyone else that's close to me. I like documenting the kids' milestones, their growing up years, their achievements (and sometimes, mine), and my struggles and battles with motherhood. It sure ain't easy. I love seeking out good food and travelling, is trigger-happy, love new gadgets, love exploring new places and strives to live life to the fullest. I aspire to travel the world as much as I can, to soak in the different sights across the various continents and visit all the Disneylands in the world (almost there!). Have fun reading and do drop me a comment to say hi! Love, Cherie Lim Find me on Instagram.
