Mom’s Best Friend – Philips Avent Celebrates 30th Anniversary!

Wow. It’s amazing to know Philips Avent is nearly as old as me. This year, they are celebrating their 30th anniversary! 30 years of innovation from Philips Avent. Do you even know about it? I’ll share my thoughts on some of the products I have used in all the years I have been a mother (I really love them) and as well as ANOTHER giveaway worth more than $500 at the end of the post, so make you read through the entire post. I’ll quiz you in order to win!

Celebrating 30 Years of Innovation – Delivering More Breast Milk to More Babies

For thirty years Philips Avent has listened and learned to ensure that they continue to develop innovative products for moms and their babies, providing them with the most natural way to feed and giving their little ones the best start in life. Since 1984 Philips Avent has worked closely with scientists and healthcare professionals to understand babies and support women in breastfeeding and breast milk supply and have developed a long series of ‘first’ products in the baby care and infant feeding categories.

In the last 30 years, AVENT has delivered a number of industry firsts:
o   1st feeding bottle with clinically proven anti-colic properties
o   1st electric steam sterilizer
o   1st single-handed breast pump
o   1st manual breast pump clinically proven to be as effective as electric breast pumps
o   1st non-surgical treatment for inverted nipples
o   1st toddler cup to integrate with an entire feeding system – interchangeability is still an AVENT advantage
o   1st breast pump to imitate babies’ suckling action
o   1st electric breast pump designed to learn a mother’s natural pumping rhythm
o   1st electric breast pump helping mums express comfortably

The Philips Avent brand is the market leader in bottles, breast pumps and sterilizers in the UK and is sold in more than 60 markets worldwide; over 100 million feeding bottles have been sold since 1984. The company’s success has been recognized with three Queens’s Awards – two for innovation and one for International Trade – as well as a host of awards from parenting magazines around the world.

It’s not hard to think why they are mon’s best friend with all those awards. Isn’t that quite an achievement? I don’t remember getting that many awards in my 30 years of life. What are some of the Philips Avent products that you have tried using before?

I love love love the Avent milk bottles. They are hardy, and the bottles are easy to handle/hold on to. The wide neck of the bottles makes making milk a breeze (minimum spillage of milk powder and it is so easy to wash) and the milk teats feels sturdy and less prone to breakage. I change my Avent milk bottle teats much less often than some of the other brands that I have used previously. The design of the milk bottle is also constantly evolving over the years, a clear sign that Philips is dedicated in making it better for mums and babies through their innovation.

Here’s some pictures of Jerome in milk coma while using the Avent milk bottles.

The milk storage containers are quite brilliant idea too. I love how something that is being used to store expressed milk can be used to feed the baby immediately, without the need to transfer the milk. It means less washing required, no wastage of milk and it is such a brilliant idea. You can read about Jerry being our new baby sitter, baby sitting Jerome and feeding him milk.

I remember the sterilizer being one of the most used products on a daily basis when I was a new mum. Breastpump parts, milk bottles, they all need to be steriized and the 3-in-1 Steam Sterilizer was really my best friend. I was working it at least 4 times a day and its is so easy to use, I really have no complains. I also like that there are different compartments for the bottles as well as the teats and it makes things a lot neater for me. Long gone are the days where I last used a sterilizer, but I absolutely have good memories about them. Oh, have you read my review on the Philips Avent Single Electric Breast Pump?

When my kids got older and started eating purees, the Avent Combined Steamer and Bender is a god-send. It’s so easy to use, and 1 machine does it all. And, errmm.. can I confess that I use the same thing to crush my cookies or blend other stuff too? It’s so affordably priced, and I get to bag multiple uses out of it. The auntie in me loves.

Till today, the milk storage containers are still being used by me to keep small tidbits or biscuits for the kids. I love how light it is and easy to bring around, especially when we are out. Can I just say that it is also extremely durable and last quite a while?

P.s. In case you are wondering, in the days where these really old pictures are taken, all the products were bought and not sponsored. I truly believe in the brand and it really did help me in my roles as a mum. I really love the brand and I am sure, many of you agree with me too! Good things are worth sharing, right?

I almost forgot something really critical that I have used too.

Philip Avent Baby monitor!
Philips Avent Baby monitor!

This is a really old model because the current models of Philips Avent Baby Monitors don’t look anything like the one I have anymore. I remember the days when Jerry was still a baby, the husband and me will hold this in our hands while watching TV in the living room. Puts us at ease knowing that we can clock in our own personal time, while keeping an eye at the baby. We used this through 2 kids and it has yet die on us yet. I don’t really need it these days, but this is still a working set. Who knows, maybe someday #3 might appear…

So, Philips Avent is my best friend because it helps me saves time and money, and gives the best for my kids through its quality and well-designed products.

Pssst…. its GIVEAWAY time! Ok, I lied, I wasn’t going to test you on anything I shared about earlier, but you need to have an instagram account to participate. Go get one now if you haven’t already have, and follow me while at it!

Philips 30th Anniversary Event

Hi there! Thanks for popping by. I'm Cherie, a ftwm (full-time working mum) to 3 lovely kids (2 boys & a princess) and my motto in life is to BE HAPPY. Sure, life isn't all that smooth but it's the mentality that counts, no? This blog documents my life. Or rather, snippets of my life that has passed me by. I love capturing life memories in the blog and being able to read back and laugh at myself (or anyone). I love to eat (A LOT), travel and paint my own nails so the blog is mostly about that. Is that considered lifestyle? Of cos, the family is also very much an integral part of me so there would be loads of memories about the husband and my kids - Jerry (9yo), Jerome (7yo) and Leia (2.5yo) and everyone else that's close to me. I like documenting the kids' milestones, their growing up years, their achievements (and sometimes, mine), and my struggles and battles with motherhood. It sure ain't easy. I love seeking out good food and travelling, is trigger-happy, love new gadgets, love exploring new places and strives to live life to the fullest. I aspire to travel the world as much as I can, to soak in the different sights across the various continents and visit all the Disneylands in the world (almost there!). Have fun reading and do drop me a comment to say hi! Love, Cherie Lim Find me on Instagram.
