Leia’s Birth Story…
After almost 2 months, I finally found little pockets of time to work on a post about Leia’s birth story. Leia’s birth probably caught A LOT of you by surprise… I didn’t tell people about it (even close friends or relatives), and those people who knew were those that see me frequently. Even so, when enquired, I usually tell them I am fat (till they finally figure it’s not). And then I go “Tadah!” with this IG post on 24 Feb, 2018, about 5hrs right after I have given birth. Good morning! If you aren’t fully awake yet, i hope the spooky picture of jerome caught your attention. I took this in a dark room with UV light the other day while at river safari and thought it looked pretty cool. and while you are reading this, i’m probably somewhere in sydney city, having a nice, uninterrupted lunch with my friends (sans kids!!!!) since aust is 2hrs ahead. Cuteness overload.
these days, i get entirely smitten by my chubby meatball and totally can’t get enough of him. every day when i get home from work, i just want to go cuddle this squishy big baby. he’s totally not helping me because every time i go near him, he flashes his toothless grin and immediately burst into chortles of laughter. my little chubby baby.

joel’s full month.
Joel and Jerome shared the same edd date. Yh and me were still joking about sharing a double room and playing mahjong cards together if we were to bomb on the same day. heh. Jerome came earlier than expected at wk 37 & 4 days. Joel decided that he too, wants to join in the fun and popped out 2 days later, the day that I was to be discharged. Day 12 – jerome goes to the pd again!
ever since the first visit to the pd, we have started Jerome on partial formula milk to bring down the jaundice. with his condition which renders it harder for him to break down the jaundice, I was more than willing to agree with the plan. anything that’s best for baby. we have also started him suntanning him twice a day, in the early mornings and evenings. unfortunately, the weather isn’t coorperative lately. it’s been raining non stop so no sun! jerome’s first visit to the pediatrician
on Thursday, we bundled the baby off for his first pediatrician visit right of his life. because he is in a swaddle, I left him on the car seat and I sat in the back seat to check on him. since it was really early in the morning, I pulled out his legs for some suntanning action. the good news is.. Jerome put on weight! he was 2.62kg at birth, but lost weight and left the hospital at the weight of 2.49kg. so at 2.75kg, it’s really good news! bad news? his jaundice level shot up to almost double the levels. he left the hospital at 6.6 but after…

1 week old.
Jerome turns a week old yesterday. the past 1 week has been rather hectic and an emotional roller coaster ride. as parents, der & me have been estatic at the arrival of the baby. daddy, as before, is very smitten by his newborn and stayed glued to baby ever since he popped out. I had a terrible first night stay at the hospital in a double-bedded ward, whuch also meant i didnt have the husband with me. the couple beside me was rather inconsiderate, chatting non stop past midnight and the husband only left at 1.30am. they also shut their bed lights and switched on the main lights…

couple of days ago, i had an ‘accident’ at work. I wasn’t paying attention to my surroundings and wasn’t watching where I was going. the next thing I knew, I felt a super sharp pain in my lower abdomen and I let out a scream. there was a loud bang/crash and a lot of my colleagues stood up from their seats to see what happened and started fussing over me. well..
