Day 5 & 6 at home
The past 2 days has been madness.. Hence the radio silence from me on all social media, except a random rant or 2 when I become immobile for 15mins while I am expressing milk. Following the PEP bed arrival and the phototherapy session for Jerry, it was HELL. I was changing diapers every other moment and I think I went through like 10-12 diaper changes (due to discharge of jaundice) in within a short span of 6 hours, coupled that while 2-3 hourly expressing of milk, cuddling and soothing the baby, feeding the baby and washing up stuff.. I didn’t sleep a wink. It does not help that my dear…

Day 4 at home!
Technically, we ain’t home! Jerry needs to pop back to TMC for a check up and I’m kinda excited to be heading out of the house. All ready to go! Getting ready to pop out of the house used to be easy when it’s just the 2 of us, 30mins or less is all we need. Now, getting ready is a mammoth task! It took der & me 2 hrs to get everything needed for baby packed, washed, feed him, pump milk, washed everything to be brought out and check and double check everything again. I also had to lug a bottle of red dates and longan tea with me…

Day 3 back home
Gosh, first things first.. The weather these days are a killer! I could hardly bear a moment out of my air-conditioned room. Thank goodness I am allowed to on my air-con, if not.. I’ll die of heat stroke first! The other simple pleasure is bathing everyday. I never looked forward to bathing with so much anticipation before, but I am only allowed to bathe once a day, with only half a pail of herb water boiled by my mum. A true test of my water saving skills (especially with my long long mane) but I have survived well thus far. Though it does take a bit getting used to using…

The husband and daddy..
Right after Jerry pops out, I can’t decide whether I still love my husband or am starting hate him. Never the bit that his attention was all on the tiny bud since the moment he pop out and forgot about the well-being of the mother (ello, its me!!). Haha. You know, he’s literally glued to his iPad/iPhone all the time.. So I asked.. Hey, now that Jerry is out, are you donna drop your iPad and attend to Jerry? He looked at me and went…can I have an iJerry please?! When he was going to attempt to carry Jerry.. I went, hey, remove your watch (it’s his rolex), wait you…

Jerry’s birth story
And so, after being in pain for almost 13hrs, I had my breakfast and was asked to head to the delivery floor where all the holding rooms were and waiting for gynae to come check on us. Us because my gynae was going to deliver 4 babies (one after another) and all the mummies were being placed together. He checked my dilation, 2cm and proceeded to break my water bag. Just like how many told me, it was a warm fuzzy feeling.. But moments later, I had some really bad news. The baby is in distress and has already passed faeces in the womb. If the baby swallowed the faeces…

Meet my baby Jerry
Born on 5 May, 2011 at 1459hrs, weighing 2.98kg, 49cm and 33cm head circumference. When the gynae threw him on me the moment he popped out, I got a real shock when he opened his eyes and stared at me. Of cos, he couldn’t really ‘see’ me. Havent really had the chance to interact much with Jerry yet, he spent most of his first day in the nursery under the warmer. heck.. I don’t even have pictures to show and tell. These are stolen from hubby’s phone, which has since changed his focus to the baby ever since he popped out! Case in point – was still in the delivery…

Reporting live from the hotel.. At Thomson.
Ok. So I survived through the night of contractions, turning/tossing on my bed. Found out the reason why I was in pain ever since I left the clinic. My gynae already induced me! He inserted a tablet and I tell you, my worse hr was spent at the lobby last night, alternating between pain and finding a comfy position. I was super unglam, but who cares?! The admission procedures took more than 30mins and I survived on my own for that long… And the boy almost had to head home and leave me here, cos there are no more single rooms. He upgraded my room to a premium single! Wah,…

The last gynae visit..
Before jerry pops! Just saw the gynae it’s not looking good! 1cm dilation, I’m just not ripe enough! Am currently being hooked to the ctg machine and I don’t know what he did earlier, but I’m like having bad menstrual cramps lying here. Argh. And being hooked to the ctg machine for the last 40 mins with minimal movement is causing me much distress. I need to move around! Doesn’t help that my throat is irritated and the pain is magnified with each cough. Okie. I have to be induced. Either that, c-sect to get the baby out. Jerry is 3kg and head circumference is 33cm. Am going to try…
