one of the ways to wind down your hyperactive kid…
in the comfort of your home. I went out and bought a baby pool for jerry. been toying with the thought ever since he turned 6 months but didn’t buy in the end because it was quite expensive, my mum is against it (she thinks its another useless thing to own) and I managed to convince myself that jerry will soon outgrow the pool and that the public pools have loads of space for him to waddle around instead of this. thing is, every trip to the public pool in the past always land jerry at the paed, because he always catch some germs/bugs or a cold thereafter. its…

aspiring chef
we bought a cooking set for our boy last week! through our observation, I think this kid like this type of pretend play and its really a good buy. he’ll serve me an empty cup and have me ‘drink’ it, and follow suit with another for himself. he’ll occupy himself cutting the vegetables and cooking, which is good news for us parents – finally take relax a bit while the hyper kid is occupied. it was also great that we manage to buy a set in blue! meanwhile, grandma (my mum) is frowning at the growing toy stash. heh. I got reminded of my younger days where I…

a home to call our own..
soon! while I have been so busy at work lately, the husband has been taunting me with pictures of our letters from hdb! couple of weeks ago, he sent me this.. it says that the probable completion date is in dec.. I was like.. Chey! not something that I didn’t already know since I so often stalk the hdb website on the status. then last Friday.. we got another letter! this time, to have us submit documents for our loan eligibility! so the weekend saw us scrambling to fill up the necessary and printing out/saving all the docs necessary. it even warranted a trip back to the…

my little money maker.
he who earns money by putting coins into his coin bank. about a month ago (or was it longer than that?), I started taking his coin bank out to let him play as a toy (since it has wheels that turns like a vehicle) to occupy him during one of those he-drives-me-crazy moments. I showed him a coin and how to put it in.. and left some coins on the ground for him to play.. he started putting them all into the coin bank.. and that started his money making venture! he brings the coin bank around and my family members will give him coins so that he…

I could watch him forever..
when he’s asleep. I think all babies look angelic when they sleep. I love unwinding my day, lying in bed, and just staring.. before drifting off myself. its like an unsung lullaby. this baby, I think he has an internal compass in his body or something. he disagrees with our bed orientation and always turn himself around every night, placing his head near our feet. we’ll turn him around a few times each night, only to wake and see him back in the same direction / position. we are so afraid of kicking him in his face that we sometimes turn ourselves around and join him. I…

dealing with mischief.
left unattended for a minute and this is what happens.. he does that to the tissue boxes, the wet tissue dispenser.. I found it funny, because I wasn’t the one that was going to clean up (i was rushing out of the house for work) but my mum had her arms up in exasperation. she started spanking my son as well, which hurts as much on me when it hits him. I wouldn’t have it that way, but my mum is so stressed out with my hyper son that whatever feedback intentions that I have are returned with defensive shouts that always end with a bad taste…

halfway mark @ 20 weeks.
ok. I’m flashing a little birdie at all of you. heh. birdie of my little prince. I can’t quite believe i’m halfway there! I have been so so busy at work so much so that blogging has seriously taken a back seat in my life. I crashed out on most nights before midnight if I’m home early, or I’ll be typing away on the laptop. and by early, I meant reaching home at about 9pm, in time to grab a quick dinner before putting my son in bed. not quite that ‘early’ by normal people standards. people around me seemed to be enjoying work life balance with knock off timings…

its not the last afterall..
although I said in my earlier post that I won’t be doing self-pedicures for a while.. my chipped toe nails and my busy schedule at work changed that. I couldnt stand my chipped toe polishes (and bare nails) and I couldnt find the time to book myself a pedicure session so I attempted to paint my toes again. increasingly difficult feat. the dark knight. I tried one of the new polishes that has been lying in my stash for a long long while (i still have many unused/unopened polishes!). closer shot. I love the multi-coloured glitter of the polish but they don’t seemed to really show on…
