• Jerry & Jerome with Grandpa on his 100th Birthday!

    Hi there (again).

It’s been a long while since I have written a random, raw, unplanned post. Thought about it tonight and decided that maybe I should since the kids decided to spare me the agony and went to bed early. Hooray! Especially so on a solo-parenting night. I, haven’t blogged for a long long while. Since my last blog spot on CIDB, I kinda went dead silent. So much has happened since. 2016 has been rather eventful thus far. It took a sponsored post to break the 2 months silence, but there has been many times that I wanted to write… but just didn’t. What has been going on since? The happy…

  • Happy Chinese New Year!

Here’s wishing you a Happy Chinese New Year from my family to yours! I know this should have been done like 8 days ago, but I have been diligent.. Diligent in spending time with the family, connecting with the people that matter. Spending time with myself, doing the things I enjoy most. Diligent in letting some things go, chill, sit back and really relax. And, sleep early. It’s hasn’t been easy, making a  deliberate change to my lifestyle and not touch my computer that much. But can I share that it has been liberating? I have done so much in the past few weeks that I suddenly feel like I…

  • CNY Reunion Lunch with my 99 year old grandfather

This Chinese New Year has been a rather tiring one for me. Those who follow me on instagram (@cherieladie) would have been wondering whether i was in Singapore or Malaysia on the eve of Chinese New Year because it felt that i as appearing in 2 places on the same day. I was. I asked my mum if they could have reunion lunch instead of dinner. I asked the husband if he was OK that we zipped in in the wee hours and arrive to have lunch with my 99 year old grandpa before zipping out to have reunion dinner with his grandpa. with a stroke of luck, everything fell…

  • happy birthday to me.

some weeks back, I turned another year older. uneventfully. I think birthdays get a whole lot more toned down as I age. I spent the day on a quick date with the husb, out watching hossan leong’s stand up comedy and had loads of laughter for company. had a quick dinner before we zipped home for the kids. thank you all who sent well wishes and greetings my way through fb, text messages, whatsapp, IG and all other social platforms, thank you very much. I may not have replied them all, but I read every single one of them and feel very much loved.   the highlight of the day…

  • a family trip to river safari for panda visiting!

as i was typing the blog header, i got reminded about the joke of panda taking pictures – they only turn out black and white!! ok, not funny. some weeks back when my extended family was in town for my grandpa’s birthday, we made an impromptu trip to river safari to check out the pandas. I think it made my uncle’s day. He was really excited about the pandas. i was so hyped up about going on a family outing (together with my mum cos she hardly goes anywhere!) that i almost forgot about the rescheduled teacher-parent meeting in jerry’s school. Thank god the school is just a couple of…

  • Our nest – updates on the renovation works. [Part 2]

if you are new reading this blog, you can read about how the house looked like when we first collected our keys and about my previous post on the renovations. someone asked about my kitchen counter top from the previous post, so i just do a quick mention here. the counter top is marble. i honestly didn’t compare the price for the various type of top but i do know that i wanted a counter top that could last and based on the few material samples that we saw, we chose this. the husband also feels that i should do my sink some justice and give it some mention. haha!…

  • Our nest – updates on the renovation works. [Part 1]

i know. i have kinda been spamming everyone bits and pieces of the house on IG (and also FB since its crossed posted) and everyone have been asking if i have moved in. so, i thought an update would be due since the last post on it was in feb. FEB! has it been that long? honestly, we weren’t the most diligent folks on this renovation thing. we only have the weekends to work on it, sourcing for the electrical appliances, deciding on the plans, working out with the ID and whatever not. It’s really one massive project and i learnt a lot out of this experience. Sure, it could…

  • Sungei Boluh Wetland Reserve

this is a super backdated entry, from 6 months ago. it was one of those weekends in jan (5 jan to be exact) and jerome was still in my tummy. i was desperately trying to clock in some outdoor outings and spend some time with jerry before his brother pops out and share the attention. i super love nature and have been wanting to go sungei boluh wetland reserve for a long while, and i finally made it there that weekend. jerry dragging his cousin Levon along. making our way in! I like that they add little tidbits and facts about the animals that we are likely to see on…

  • Family portraits.

I never got round to blogging about this till now because the pictures took such a long time to get to me. I lost the mojo to blog about it until recently when i was searching for some family pictures to print for Jerry’s school. we did a newborn shoot for jerome some time back, before CNY this year while i was still in confinement and in the midst of it, we bagged in some family portraits as well. Naturally, i still look rather fat and preggers but here’s some of the nicer pictures that i thought was quite natural. this is my absolute favourite of all the pictures because…
