old school bubble fun.
sometimes, i look at my kids and think that their childhood are a lot more complicated – clouded with loads of toys & gadgets (ipads, computer, tvs etc). i remembered growing up with very little toys and most of the time, i was exercising my imagination with existing furniture playing pretend all the time. i remembered using the bamboo sticks that my mum used to hang our clothes as some super long sword in a fight.. haha! those were the days. i recently found a packet of old school bubble while packing my room. I think der bought them a couple of years back (pre-kids) while we were in arab…

the lion roars!
This morning, while the husband is waking jerry up for school, the little kiddo refuses to get out of bed. and in a split second, he decided to be a lion and do a lion roar in an attempt to scare the husband away. hilarious. just where, do kids get these ideas into their heads? the quick-handed husband managed to capture it on video so i loaded it up on youtube. i think this was a “replay” version. hilarious. so, hear my little lion roar! (complete with facial expressions and all). funny not? I hope you like it! Till, i blog again.. Cheers, Cherie If you like what you…

jerome turns 8 months.
slightly over a week ago, jerome turned 8 months old. this little bundle of sunshine of mine cheers me up everyday. at 8 months, he has 8 fully grown teeth. i have no clue why my kids’ teeth sprouts so fast! I thought jerry’s progress was fast when he was a baby, but jerome’s progress is so much faster. he stands unassisted now for a couple of seconds before he plonks his fat butt down again. he walks like a champ assisted and can get around the house pretty fast when he crawls or walks about. he’s always wary about falling down so he clutches one hand onto somewhere all…

Things that my kids taught me while solo parenting last week.
Noise is virtually non-existence on this blog front since last week. I spent the week solo parenting the kids (both sick!!) and moving into a different role at work. Turns out, I ended up being severely sleep deprived, caught the flu bug myself from the kids and had to prep for a house warming party last weekend. As if life isn’t exciting enough with all the changes, I had to plan the house warming party on the same weekend. And even attempted to “bake” some jelly hearts to serve the guests. I know right, what was I thinking? but I survived the week and in the midst of it, learnt…

teacher’s day presents.
and so, tomorrow is teacher’s day. if you have school going children like me, have you prepped the presents? or has it been a really tedious process, pondering about what presents to give them? or maybe, you have no intentions of doing anything at all? Lol. i do feel people these days are, in general, more critical then appreciative towards everyone around them. or it could have been the wide spread use of social media which has amplified the negative voices. I know I am fully guilty of dishing out complaints a lot more than praises or compliments on a daily basis. its so much easier to complain,…

jerry, the angel.
such an angel when he is sleeping…. but a terrible devil when awake. he is so hyper, so filled with mischief and energy.. I often think if he was sent to me to test my patience and teach me to be a better person. today, the husband shared this little story with me… (my mil fetches my son home from the childcare centre every day after work, and between the blocks, she would pass by a mama shop at the void deck). jerry: (upon seeing mama shop) Nai Nai, you got bring money? mother-in-law (mil): no. jerry: go home take. mil: no. tomorrow then buy. what you…

Jerome is 7 months (and a couple of days more).
Im forever behind time when i blog about my kids’ milestone. that’s life of a working mum with 2 kids – things don’t exactly go the way you plan it! at 7 months, my little munchkin amazes me all the time. some days, he looks like he has lost some weight.. other days, he looks like a big blob of fats and you can’t even see his neck. heh. eating some tissues here he’s been up to some serious development the past month, or haven’t i been looking? he can hoist himself up easily now before i could even count 2, and he kinda aced his motor skills. he moves…

Shupeas Product Review + GIVEAWAY: Looking for soft, comfy shoes for your baby?
Shupeas *product review* during the days when Jerry was a baby, i was having a really hard time trying to buy nice, cute, and comfy shoes for the kid. a lot of the designs in the market were quite MEH and they are oh-so-expensive too! it even got to a point where i was so frustrated in the search and even asked the husband to go start a business in baby/kids shoes since he is somewhat in the shoe business. #truestory truth is, there are only a few nice brands around with very limited designs and they are expensive, especially not worth the buck when the kids grow out of…

bedtime games.
1, 2, 3, FLY!!!! jerry has been rather delightful to play with these days. he talks soooooo much, we sometimes find it amazing! I have glow in the dark stars stuck on my room’s ceiling since my secondary school days and the stars have been there for like forever. when the lights are off, I sometimes show him the stars and have him count. recently, we have developed this ‘touch the star’ game where the husb will carry him all the way up and let him touch it. he chooses the stars he wants to touch. he goes.. ‘papa! papa! touch the star!! pink star please!’, ‘big…
