• Peter Pan – The Neverending Story

I brought the kids to watch the Peter Pan, The Neverending Story musical some weeks back. It isn’t the kids’ first experience in a theatre setting (read: Junior Claus’ experience), and Jerry has been a lot more plays/musicals prior to this. But, it is definitely the only one with both pyrotechnics and acrobatic acts involved. I probably didn’t do a good job of prepping them with the storyline before hand. I did try to let them watch some Peter Pan cartoon from youtube but they were more interested in the Frozen theme songs (IKR!!) and Transformers instead. That said, I think they both did a very good job in sitting…

  • old school bubble fun.

sometimes, i look at my kids and think that their childhood are a lot more complicated – clouded with loads of toys & gadgets (ipads, computer, tvs etc). i remembered growing up with very little toys and most of the time, i was exercising my imagination with existing furniture playing pretend all the time. i remembered using the bamboo sticks that my mum used to hang our clothes as some super long sword in a fight.. haha! those were the days. i recently found a packet of old school bubble while packing my room. I think der bought them a couple of years back (pre-kids) while we were in arab…

  • big brother jerry.

i was trying to grab some bites of my lunch earlier and didnt have my eyes on jerry since he is with his toys in the living room and babytv on tv for his entertainment. jerome is sleeping on the sofa. my mum was in the kitchen and when she came out, here’s the sight that greeted her. he took jerome’s half finished bottle of milk that was left on the table and tried to shove it into his mouth, all on this own. i swear this wasnt staged and i was still munching on my veggies when my mum called me.   i happen to see jerome flashing a…

we had new hired help in the household ok. so what do i do? feed him? ok! im trying to aim! didi, dont move! ok. this is easy.. did you say burp him?! ok. here goes.. i think he’s bored. i’ll entertain him with my monkey face! maybe i’ll dig some of my blooper for him to taste.. heh heh. ok. didi, dont be scared ok? gorgor is joking.   after this, i put down my phone and when i had my back turned, he stood up and attempted to carry baby up too! yikes!   he’s really quite cute lately and helps bring diapers for jerome when we need…

  • Christmas game : angels and mortals

each year, as Christmas approaches.. a small group of my colleagues will gather to play this game. its actually a secret Santa game but we call our version angels and mortals.   rules of the game – we set aside a budget, draw lots to determine everyone’s mortal (together with 3 items on their wish list based on the budget) and then for weeks leading up to Christmas, the angel has to secretly do nice things for the mortal.   everybody keeps their mortal a secret from each other while others throw out decoys and claim credit for the stuff they didn’t do. on the day of exchange, we usually…

  • jerry’s new toy.

we spent Saturday at home just bumming around because it was raining so heavily and it was a good opportunity to wind down from all  the rest of the activities we had from weeks before.   and we let jerry open up one of this birthday presents as a treat. yes, we are still having the stash of birthday presents unwrapped and sitting in a corner of my room. we are rationing them slowly giving him one every alternate week so that it’ll last him a while without us buying new toys for him. (learnt the useful tip from ..thanks babe!)   this is a self-fix Thomas the train that…

  • the long awaited weekend.

last weekend was a long awaited weekend of mine.. with tickets to the SING DOLLAR! bought the tickets some months back and have been eagerly waiting for the DAY to come.. well, i woke up excitedly only to find the boy hot to the touch. stuff a thermometer into his mouth (38.5 degrees fever) and had to drag him out of bed and to the doc’s. and he had to give the show a miss. =( i was upset because we had wanted to watch it for the longest time, but the boy was adamant in staying home and not spreading the germs even with a mask on. of cos,…

  • happy girl.

photo from sistic.com just got home from watching the importance of being earnest… kinda enjoyed it laughing my night away together with cindy. i guess it was a good thing that i watched it with cindy instead of der. he might not have appreciated the play since it was very much english about it, complete with the british accent. last sat, i also spent the afternoon watching Kumar, stripped bare & standing up. it wasn’t as funny as i expected it to be, i have seen more interesting shows from him… but funny enough to feel it is well worth the moolah. funnily enough, i find it a little different…
