• Tea & lunches with friends.

it’s been almost 2 months since i headed back to work (gosh! has it been that fast?) and i’m honestly, honestly missing my mama friends and the tea-times and lunches that we used to have while we were all on maternity leave. yes, even if it means i had to drag 2 kids along with me. so yeah. this post about me reminiscing about the happy times, and blogging all those happy pictures that i didnt managed to post here. lunch with mich @ antoinette i get reminded of Jerry when i see the logo. every. single. time. because he keeps pointing it to me and says “Ba Ba Sheep!!”…

  • Team Lunch @ Rokeby

my team had a long overdue team lunch last friday for the june babies. and an unexpected farewell lunch for beverly who left the team rather abruptly. lunch was at rokeby! we always try to go to a different restaurant each time and it was my first time here (though i have been to fat cat which is along the same stretch). The restaurant had a simple, casual decor that was very easy to feel relaxed in. our team of 12 had a small little room to ourselves and we were joking that it felt like a birthday party in mcd (like the olden days). the team! there was a…

  • motherhood is especially fun when you have company.

im slowly counting down to the end of the maternity leave and am not looking forward to it. while looking after 2 kiddos is tough and tiring, having friends going through the same period of motherhood with you and enjoying the same stretch of maternity leave is kinda fun.. there’s excitement in our days as we share stories in our whatsapp group chat, plan lunches and meet up, as well as playdates. there is also loads of laughter and discussion about everything under the sun so there is never a dull moment. i am also especially thankful that they are a bunch of very encouraging mums as well and always…

  • the christmas team lunch

each year, my lovely boss will arrange for a team lunch at a lovely place for the team. it’s always a much-looked-forward-to event for me because there is always good food, we have a nice relaxing long lunch and gossip chit chat about the happenings in the office and pretty much chill around together.   this year, lunch is at symmetry, located at kudor street. I loved how chill the restaurant exterior looked, and the team had fun posing with the decor. me, looking rotund and terrible in pictures these days. my face is sooooooo round! restaurant interior.  cosy little place with cute little touches here and there! the menu.…

  • good luck lunch at medz.

so many familiar faces are leaving at my work place. almost every other week, someone left or there are news of people leaving, many of which without a job.   had a good luck lunch with serene the other day. I refused to call it goodbye/farewell. I’m sure we’ll meet and keep in contact!   lunch was at medz at millenia walk.. it was a little like marche style of dining concept, but with the food offerings based on 8 cuisine stations – Spanish, Moroccan, French, Turkish, Greek and Mediterranean stations. French onion soup, it was bland and in my honest opinion, not worth the money or the stomach space.…

  • Food review, restaurant review, Table manners changi point

a happy lunch at Table Manners Restaurant!

We picked Table Manners Restaurant to celebrate a colleague’s birthday in advance today since some of the team is on leave next week (me included).   lunch at table manners @ changi city point. love the ambience, super chillax and it doesn’t feel like a working day at all! I love all the small little details and touches, the table settings, serviettes with bow ties and interesting quotes pertaining to table manners plastered at unsuspecting corners, greeting you and teasing you.. its quite entertaining to glance around the restaurant reading the little quotes. a feature wall indoors.   I didn’t manage to take a picture of the table manners menu…

  • tuckshop.

my colleague brought me here for lunch one day and my oh my, I’m really surprised at this really simple, nice, chilled cafe in the midst of the industrial park work area that I work in. definitely a good place to escape to for an hour or two during lunch if you needed something to cheer up your work day.   and yes, you heard me right. its called tuckshop. nostalgic eh? doesn’t it all reminds you of our primary school days. ok. maybe not everyone but those around my age will know what I’m talking about.   and when I say its hidden, its an understatement. this place is…

  • food expedition.

what msia means to me is always 2 things – family and good food. and no, in case you are wondering.. I am a Singaporean, except that I have a wee bit of Malaysia blood in me.   with the family wedding yesterday, the family gathered in jb for a good feasting opportunity before the celebration. we trooped in bright and early on Saturday morning. first stop. I finally tried out the mee hoon kuay that derrick has been raving about for a while. this is near his johor office in so its pretty far off from the jb town because its in skudai. I think it taste pretty good.…

  • farewell lunches.

farewell lunches are rather rampant these days. almost weekly, I hear news that someone is leaving. I know, its a fact of life. people come and go.   it just gets a little harder to bear when its someone when you are quite pally with coreen (who is leaving), jasmine, Janna and myself. self-taken shot on my HTC one x. our food! we had lunch at one of my favourite restaurants, the little fish shop (greenwood fish bistro). I had 5 fresh oysters as starters and man.. its really a lot more worth it dining there for lunch.   food from left to right, top down: clams in white wine…
