a happy lunch at Table Manners Restaurant!

We picked Table Manners Restaurant to celebrate a colleague’s birthday in advance today since some of the team is on leave next week (me included).   lunch at table manners @ changi city point. love the ambience, super chillax and it doesn’t feel like a working day at all! I love all the small little details and touches, the table settings, serviettes with bow ties and interesting quotes pertaining to table manners plastered at unsuspecting corners, greeting you and teasing you.. its quite entertaining to glance around the restaurant reading the little quotes. a feature wall indoors.   I didn’t manage to take a picture of the table manners menu…

  • brunch @ house.

last Sunday, I met the usual duo (andy and Cindy) for brunch. its been a long while since we met! Andy proposed house @ Dempsey and I havent been there for brunch so we gamely agreed. Der & me were late. mainly cos we took a while to prep the bub who was cranky and nearing his nap time, and I couldnt head into the bathroom at all after Der left for home to wash up so I had to wait for him to return before I could prep. its still quite a logistical nightmare each time we head out when my mum isn’t home because Der doesn’t stay in…

  • tuckshop.

my colleague brought me here for lunch one day and my oh my, I’m really surprised at this really simple, nice, chilled cafe in the midst of the industrial park work area that I work in. definitely a good place to escape to for an hour or two during lunch if you needed something to cheer up your work day.   and yes, you heard me right. its called tuckshop. nostalgic eh? doesn’t it all reminds you of our primary school days. ok. maybe not everyone but those around my age will know what I’m talking about.   and when I say its hidden, its an understatement. this place is…

  • farewell lunches.

farewell lunches are rather rampant these days. almost weekly, I hear news that someone is leaving. I know, its a fact of life. people come and go.   it just gets a little harder to bear when its someone when you are quite pally with coreen (who is leaving), jasmine, Janna and myself. self-taken shot on my HTC one x. our food! we had lunch at one of my favourite restaurants, the little fish shop (greenwood fish bistro). I had 5 fresh oysters as starters and man.. its really a lot more worth it dining there for lunch.   food from left to right, top down: clams in white wine…

  • The office Christmas party.

It’s usually the event of the year where everyone look forward to it, mainly because of the big and exciting prizes that we have in store. This year, it’s a little different. The rules have changes, the prizes no more and a lot of people went on leave! Still, it’s one of those events where EVERYONE would gamely dressed up to the theme. It’s my 4th Christmas party in the company, and the previous themes were pink christmas (I was in committee), blingz, back to school and this year.. It was fashion disaster. And I thought I was quite a fashion disaster wearing leopard prints, polka dots and stripes all…

  • My baby jerry Choo at 7 months.

Happy 7 months old, baby! It’s been a bit of a whirlwind the past month, with him going through a lot of firsts. First time at the zoo, first time being sick, first time on the nebulizer machine, first stand, first few steps with support, first time sitting up by himself, first time taking the milk bottle and feeding himself, first climb, first self stand without support.. Gosh. Has it only been a month? It felt like eons! First time exploring his brand new playpen.. First zoo trip, checking out the wallabies. First sitting up by himself.. First climb.. First stand.. First major sickness.. (and first x-ray for the matter)…

  • Another farewell.

Another one of my usual lunch kakis leafy for ‘tai-tai dom’ in Taiwan.. First, its Bernice to Shanghai, and now its Dheresse to Taiwan. Actually, the tai-tai dom is self-assumed by me. Heh. She’s off to join her boyfriend turned hubby in Taiwan and start everything all over. According to her, the job entails being the house-keeper, the maid, the sex slave and ________ (add you own description) on top of her day job as a head hunter. Gonna miss the tallest girl in the department and a familiar lunch face. Farewells are hard, but life goes on for everyone else. I hope the friendship stays despite the distance! Posted…

  • The ex-pizza folks.

And happy lunch! Lunch on Friday with James and colleagues, all of which came from the same ex-company, though different generations. They were replacements after ‘my batch’ left, but the world is small. Actually, I gate crashed the lunch appt because I happened to call James up to date him for lunch and turns out, he was popping by our office to meet these 2. So yeah, I very thick-skin-ly gate crashed. Hope the girls didn’t mind but well, I really quite enjoyed the lunch except we were caught in the heavy rain and very very bad traffic en route back to office. Posted via LiveJournal app for iPhone.
