• 12.9.2013 The day we celebrate our wedding anniversary & wedding traditions

der helping to lay my long train beautifully, just before we enter the ballroom for our march-in 3 years ago.a few days ago, we celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary. Has it really been 3 years? Happy 3rd wedding anniversary to us! Life has been really good. 3 years is neither short or long, but we have done so much, spent most days together (other than the days either of us is travelling), started our own family, built our own nest, and survived through squabbles and fights. and by fights, i meant pillow fights because we hardly, ever go to bed angry with each other. sure, it’s aint perfect.. but is…

  • a family trip to river safari for panda visiting!

as i was typing the blog header, i got reminded about the joke of panda taking pictures – they only turn out black and white!! ok, not funny. some weeks back when my extended family was in town for my grandpa’s birthday, we made an impromptu trip to river safari to check out the pandas. I think it made my uncle’s day. He was really excited about the pandas. i was so hyped up about going on a family outing (together with my mum cos she hardly goes anywhere!) that i almost forgot about the rescheduled teacher-parent meeting in jerry’s school. Thank god the school is just a couple of…

  • Jerry is the gentleman.

the other day when the fight happened, the husband and me were in discussion on the topic while strolling to the nearby mall to grab some necessities. and the husband went…. d: i think jerry is quite the gentleman. c: why? d: because… 君子动口不动手。 (literally translated as “the gentlemen uses his mouth instead of his hands” but meant to mean that the gentlemen would reason rather than fight) c: …… *roll eyes* d: ya what! he didn’t hit other people what. he bit the girl, so he used his mouth right? please tell me it’s a pain to deal with my husband sometimes. we sorta concluded that the fight must…

  • 小鸟。

yesterday, we were strolling along in mbs mall and suddenly der said, “hey, hey, look at the 小鸟!它一直在变(look at the small bird, it keeps changing)”.       I stared and stared… and I could see no bird. I even scrutinised everyone walking pass to see if they were carrying a bird. no bird at all!   me: 哪里有鸟? (where is the bird?)der: there! up there! me: looks up and sees the *chanel* logo blinking in intervals across the entire panel.  grrr..    can I say this is NOT the first time he pulled this 小鸟joke on me????? totally not funny……………   ok lah, I admit. quite funny but SUPER IRRITATING!!!!!!!  …

  • The husband always wins.

[possible vulgar/dialect language ahead] The husband was bathing the baby earlier and required me to help. I was feeling lazy so I teased him about his capability.. You know, being an all rounder and wonderful hands on super daddy, but he insisted he would liked me to help. Me: you cannot do it yourself meh? D: no, I’m not as capable as you. I need you to help. Me: you very zhu eh! (I meant 猪/pig in this instance and trying to mock him of stupidity. It was also meant to be a pun because the husband’s surname is Choo /朱) 猪爸爸!猪爸爸! I chanted non stop during the time I…

  • the funny husband

jerome in a fortress. this scene greeted me this morning in the living room when i emerged from my room. its hilarious!   the husband built a fortress using the cushions on the sofa to enclave the baby. not that the baby can run anywhere though.   and here’s the cheeky one when i woke him up… looking half awake.  its friday already.. are you looking forward to the weekend like me? have a fun one. • Sofa shopping.

    conversations with the husband #2

Conversations with the husband #2. so, we have been shopping non stop every weekend or on the days the husb gets to leave work earlier for the home. furniture, appliances, toilet accessories, basins, faucets, lightings or some times, just for ideas and inspiration. while browsing in a furniture shop one day and spotting a wardrobe that has anti-slam door systems and drawers.. c: woah! i like! d: what you like about it? c: the doors and the drawers of the wardrobe, all fitted with the anti-slam thingy. i think we must have that in our house for our wardrobes (we have only planned to have it in the kitchen thus…

  • the v-day bouquet

wanted to log this down because it was really unexpected. we werent planning to do any sort of celebration for vday this year since I am serving my confinement and won’t be able to consume outside food.   and boy, was I surprised when the husband appeared at my room doorstep at 4.30pm! he usually only comes home at about 9.30pm or later.   and to make the day even better, he gave me a bouquet of……… rilakkumas! I just had to laugh at the sight of it, because I am not a fan of these bears.. and they remind me of my colleague, Beverly because she likes them a…

  • the hubby’s birthday.

I didn’t plan anything special. at all. I didnt even buy a present. ha! I am such a terrible wife right?   the husb warned me beforehand that he doesn’t want any surprises that requires me to splurge. no fancy cake, no meals that would cost hundreds and all. so I guess not that bad afterall by his expectations.   he also decided to work on his birthday (Mon) so there was really not much time for me to plan  anything.   the weekend before, we popped over to expo furniture sale to check out the furnitures for fun, since we’ll be getting our home soon and had lunch at…

  • brunch @ house.

last Sunday, I met the usual duo (andy and Cindy) for brunch. its been a long while since we met! Andy proposed house @ Dempsey and I havent been there for brunch so we gamely agreed. Der & me were late. mainly cos we took a while to prep the bub who was cranky and nearing his nap time, and I couldnt head into the bathroom at all after Der left for home to wash up so I had to wait for him to return before I could prep. its still quite a logistical nightmare each time we head out when my mum isn’t home because Der doesn’t stay in…
